Uhm yeah... I Love the gore engulfing the player as they explode i think it looks awsome the way the spells just completely dominate the screen. They even said they're looking at the look of skills and the feel of them more this time around so your not getting shitty boring looking spells these are awsome looking crazy kick-ass spells, that completely engulf the enemie and then the gore that comes afterwards is like heaven to me. I like how the character gets blood stains on them thats a really good idea.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!

Some insect monsters have green "blood".
I also dislike the effect of arcane spells after killing enemies. The corpse stay on the ground with purple stains.. When I saw a WD and a Wiz playing it's look like a paint ball party (red, purple and green everywhere). Lame.
Maybe they could change the purple splatter to some kind of leftover purple or grey lightning. I dont know why they chose purple for arcane magic, i think a white or grey would fit it more.

the best part of diablo 2 was when you walked into the worldstone chamber and you were mobbed with so many guys and so many spells that all the people who suck at the game died. this video sort of reminds me of that but it could be a lil more wreckless

DIABLO = DEVIL its not supposed to be a nice game autostats are rediclous lack of pots is not welcome if it aint broke dont fix it! (diablo2)
I agree, but I think it has to do with visibility and that it is too similar to ice.
Yeah.. They have to choose different colors for every element.
However i imo arcane should be more palid not super purple.
Also, instead of splatter they should make the monsters slowly vanishing since arcane in Diablo have something to do with time/space.

I agree the difficult/hardcore elements must prevail over noob friend stuff. But visual chaos is not the way to go, at least imo.
Any action-oriented game looks overly busy until you get used to it. A battle in D2 with a couple sorcs, trap assassins, hammerdin and a skelemancer would have looked like a whirlwind of randomness to a person that has never seen it before. I do not think that the abundance and intensity of the animations will be a problem once we get used seeing it. The only way that it will be a problem is if the spell graphics obscure the location of monsters. It would be annoying to have to pause every couple of seconds to find a monster to target, or have to wait for the smoke to clear to see if they are all dead.
It will be very fun to see how Blizzard can manage to keep this many high quality (relative) effects and still keep the system requirements down. I'm just looking at the gameplay videos of some low level characters and thinking: "This will kill my GPU..."
Thats exactly what i think when i watch the gameplay videos. I hope it doesnt have crazy requirements like NWN2.

Well thats why i said some kind of leftover white or grey lightning, or atleast change the purple goo to white or grey.

I wouldn't say it's more visually busy than Diablo II. Sometimes I can barely see what's on the screen in the Throne. Although, that is with eight players.

Oh lol sorry i have played way too many games with throne areas. But yea i get what you mean that place was almost unplayable sometimes.

I would say yes there is way to much blood but everything else seems fine. I want enemies that die with just a little spray of blood as your weapon hits them. then they fall to the ground and some blood pools around them. I do not want to see exploding bodies from every attack and skeletons flying out.
The problem is, though, that if we are going to be realistic, the instant they do that the Battle.net forums will be flooded with "WTf u nubz u dunknow how 2 maek video gamz!! MOOR BLO0D!!11!" threads.
The excess of blood is pretty bad, really. They need to supplement it with chilling effects, like more mind-numbing terrors. That's what I liked about the area the Wizard was shown in, it was suffocating and tension-building.
Blizz will find the grey area of visual noise, I'll bet my ass on that. Right now, it looks as busy as Wall Street. They're probably showcasing the gore on the demos though...

I agree with that, just wait until the game comes out your going to see alot of noobs posting on the D3 forums about random crap.
