Starcraft 2 was originally going to be released in 2009, it was going to be Blizzard's game of 2009 but it got delayed, there are no games from Blizzard Entertainment coming out in 2009.
It's not that hard to comprehend.
yes no game this year guys.....sad but true no back to diablo cough*3*cough
Blizzard did well by milking the money cow. Now it's the fan turn again. Or well, just one more expansion. Then its our turn. Maybe... In 2011 if we're lucky...

The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t...
But they might question Blizzard's priorities. How long can you drag one game out? So far, a decade apparently, and the gap between 01 and 06 was dedicated to WoW. Doesn't it seem kind of stupid that an expansion steals the spot? The WoW players already have enough goodies, they just got WotLK, they don't need another one next year.
I say... switch D3 and "Cataclysm".
I AGREE COMPLETELY!!! Cataclysm looks way weaker than the other expansions..i would even go as far as to say that its a waste of time to even add anything else to that dried out game. Diablo 3 is the superior game compared to some idiotic WOW expansion, so in short D3 definitely needs to be second priority after SC2 and Cataclysm needs to be DEAD LAST!!!
It's because the graphics are too good. Blizzard can't release a game with updated graphics. They have to wait 2 years until the graphics are old and outdated. It's their moto.
Well, i remember i'v read that was suposed to get one game at 2009 10 and 11.
scII was delayed to q1 2010 and they've said that we would see 2 releases next yr right ?
but unless they release the 5th class soon, i don't think there will be D3 next year, sadly will be that cataclysm thing.
i would totally trade scII and CATA to d3, anytime.
diablo for me has way more replayablity then both, in a sense that i don't get bored anytime soon with diablo.
but that's just me... we know that's not true for them.
i just wish we get half the attention from blizzard wow is getting with d3, even if they charge a whole 50 bucks for an exp pack(but a beefy one).
one thing, i just wish they announce the new MMO, i'm very curious. Wow announcements do nothing.
The new mmo is still unknown. Have anyone extremely irrated that SC2 said to "required online to install"? because I'm afraid they will do the same thing. I'm Also going to buy it regardless and have insane computer and connection buy still.... I want to have peace of mind that I can play it remotely incase some craze shit happens.
Seems like the delay has more to do with marketing strategy than actual developing needs.
The devs already confirmed that the core engine and system of the game is pretty much completed, ACT I is also mostly done, all they need now is to add in the rest of the contents. Sorry, but personally I don't think you need a full year just to program the remaining 3 or 4 acts.
If D3 is truly coming out in 2011, it will face a high possibility to fail commercially due to intense competition. Even with a famed name like Diablo it will be difficult to compete with big shot titles like SW: Old Republic, Blade and Soul, TERA, and various other high production MMORPG that are bound to come out around 2011 too. Sure, technically speaking D3 isn't an MMORPG, but it still faces the same competition nonetheless: especially with the fading popularity of the conventional isometric top-down style of hack & slash RPG.
I say the latest D3 should come out is final quarter of 2010. Any later and it may damage its potential player base.

I'm sorry, but you're an idiot if you think D3 in any way shape or form has a possibility to fail commercially, regardless of when it's released.
It's going to be a huge success money wise for Blizzard. D2 was their biggest seller in NA till WoW with 12 million copies sold or something along those lines.
well maybe the fans shouldnt buy the game afterall maybe blizzard should feel that their rocket of infinite succes will eventually have no fuel left and fall back to the ground.... its akward as soon someone says something not in favor to blizz heis getting pissed at.... i too think d3 is going to be a succes but maybe it would do good if blizz would finally find the bottom of whatever planet they live on.....

As far as i know, scII will require an online connection to play single player with all the balls
(this means probably, you won't get any achievements if you are not connected, and you won't be able to see your friends' list.)
probably that goes to diablo 3 too. no achievements and friends' list without net.
i'm not sure about installing though...

sorry but i disagree. unles they have everything already set on stone, just waiting to put in the game, ok.
but we still have the whole balancing thing, and the beta. and it's not like "yay it's ready let's ship tomorrow".
there is the whole process of rating the game, burnin the dvds(although i really think about just downloading from b.net), shipping, party release...
and there is probably a 3 month beta first, at least..
imagine... the process of rating -> shipping take 2 months. Ok they can start it in the middle of the beta...(at least the rating)
"4 months" right there that disappeared. that means that for a december release, they have less than a year...
there is still a class to finish, we don't even know how that is going.
unless they have already everything important set on stone, like lore, quests, spells, general enviroment idea, ITEMS(big thing)... if now is just "yay let's do the programming and the rest of 3d assets!" then i can see it happening.
but i don't think so, although i wish i could get it next year. i really wish.
Actually the game is quite done. And they've said that the fifth class has been around for a while now. Now they're finally putting in a character to fit it and a storyline to go with it. They had the idea the skills and everything done besides the animation. They used a placeholder up until recently.Act 3 is not yet complete Act 1&2 just need very small finishing touches but they are barely starting Act 4. They are in the process of putting in all the quests for act 3 making the entire landscape with the many dungeons the mini boss the boss thats gunna take at least half a year to do. Then you have ALL OF ACT 4 then you have your beta which should take aroudn half year and then you release. If your wondering where balancing and all tha went they do that during the beta and a little before so that way they can fix it according to how people play the game. You have at least a year of Act making left to do. Remember 4 acts 3's partially done and 4 isn't really even started just the concepts. Then beta thn you can see maybe a month more of balancing maybe and then you can expect a release date. So with my calculations you can expect a mid to late 2011 and maybe lets say expansion 1 of SC?... that seems fair enough

i wonder how you know all these things.....
They've stated Act 1 &2 are almost done. They said the ffth clas was using a placeholder and has been around for a while. And since they only just showed us Act 2 im guessing their midway done with act 3 and will start act four not shortly after at least Q2 of 2010. Then you have to do act 4 anad then beta
and then balance and then release it should at least take a year. maybe a little less but still it should be done around q2 or q1 or 2011 and then theyll hype it up and make sure ppl like it do some last minute revisions and then release in q3 or q4 my opinion on the last parts but the things have been stated.

To add to the 2011 and beyond theory, there's the D2 1.13 Patch. They wouldn't even consider doing it if the release of D3 was just around the corner. They are doing it to fill the gap of time we'll have until D3 is released.
I hate being a devil's advocate, but that's the truth T_T (I guess xP)

I"m full aware of all the benefits that it might provide, but you fail to see the point that they FORCE us to have it. Sure its nice to have all of those and have "more fun" but making it mandatory is just evil. I do have those social networking site like twitter but prefer to be in the shadows.

actually, i can't disagree with you that FORCING to be online to do anything, is very sad.
but i will wait and see what happens before whining. Which by the way i feel is every consumer's right to whine and demand a better product, but, i'm hoping it won't end up being too intrusive and bad, i'm pretty much in a "wait and see" stance.
i totally understand not being able to have your friends list (DUH) and ranked achievements (DUH) without being online.
but if we get into not being able to play without a "first online activation" like windows, then... i guess i will have to do something else besides playing d3.

PacMan and Tetris were some of the most popular and most played games back in the days, but it doesn't mean if you make a new PacMan or Tetris now they will still sell.
