I've read the FAQ and the info I'm after doesn't appear to be there, so I'll ask people's opinions:

I'm going to be renewing my WoW account for a while yet, and being locked into 12months doesn't bother me. Getting free digital D3 is awesome since I wanted a digital available on release day, and was going to get the CE as well.

The problem is that I wanted two copies to be separate so that my girlfriend can occasionally play if she enjoys it (which I doubt will be often) and when she's not playing, I could use the character slots I get for the second copy of the game for storage and helping myself out (like I have in D2 for years).

Unfortunately, if I use the 12month plan to get the free digital copy, won't the CE overwrite that? And as both will be tied to my account, I'm guessing it won't allow me to play logged in with the same account twice?

I think I'm answering my own questions, and if so, it kinda sucks that I can't transfer the free digital copy to my girlfriend's account when I upgrade to CE :(

The only way i see fit is if the digital copy is your (as in tied with your account) and CE is your girlfriend. You take all the goodies from her boxed copy minus the pet. Just like it is for me with sc2. When you registry the game, you automatically get the pet. In this case, you won't have to pet; won't have the pet.

On paper it seems to resolve the conflict of wow vs diablo; but that's not the case. You must absolutely ADORE wow for this a good idea.
Coming from someone who had canceled wow.. this is not true. It helps for the people that were not going to have wow active for d3.

as mention in between the lines. Its not effective to have both games playing the same time. The more time you spend on WoW, the less time you spend on diablo (assuming the player have no life; even worse if you do). Your're also committed to buy the time for 1 year. Buying the expansion/ or expansions for people thats trying really want to play wow is just not cost effective. This is mere illusion. This is for wow players that want to play diablo 3 in the background. Not TRUE diablo fans.

Seen some interesting comments; I would like to add my 2 cents.

After reading the fine prints; its not good idea to sign up for annual pass for any diablo 3 diehard such as myself. I currently play wow and would love to have the tyreal mount. But this would mean you have to actually play wow for 1 full year leaving little time to play diablo or vise-versa. I have no doubt diablo 3 will release before the year have ended.

Diehard will buy diablo 3 collectors edition but it have indirect incentive to what your doing. It only prolong the amount of your diablo3/WOW time. All it comes down to you being a hardcore wow player. Your're going to buy the expansion, 12 months commitment (no quitting) and get free diablo (digital version).

On paper it seems to resolve the conflict of wow vs diablo; but that's not the case. You must absolutely ADORE wow for this a good idea.

I start to wonder even if we found more flaws in the system; how can we get the message to someone with more convincing status then a common poster.

^That would; as mentioned in my first post. However; someone pointed out that some skill already have that and few don't such as hydra.

thanks jaclashflash. As mentioned; once you put in a rune to hydra; you get a COMPLETELY different hydra. The base hydra does fire damage, while the runed does damage such as arcane etc. Oher skills runed effect is always better improving the original; unlike this one. Why should we settle for the only other fire-damaging firewall hydra? Being better is objective in this case. Apparently, anything could be better it do more damage.

Some of us wants to keep both the cosmetic and the functionality of the base skill without being shortchanged in later levels. As you can see the biggest different is the damage.

As we all know; Runestone is awesome for many many skills. However, not a lot of people cover about skills we don't want the effects of runestones.

Skills like basic Hydra just look awesome (to me for example). The Runestone have some effects I don't want. I don't like elemental hydra, firewall hydra, etc. What I want is the Basic fire-shooting Hydra. The animation is good as is but damage is a bit weak.

Currently, It seems like blizzard implies that later in the levels; you must apply a rune to make it powerful enough to use. I suggest they use the un-attuned rune for this. Just increase the power without changing how it works.

I think there should be an option for you to use your own gear and char for pvp. Just for casual pvp; not serious pvp. Just think of it as closed and open bnet. For those who enjoy the overpowered side of player killing. They can still pimp out their char using auction house if they like. For serious pvp; this might be restricted to make things fair. Its a great option to satisfied both gamers.

The "shadow bolt" was a reference to the post before mines. It was to point out for the sake of argument that something like a magic spells are better explained then the current mechanics crossbows.

Repeating crossbows still needs to reload once in a while. With that said; something like the reloading animation is something that's been taking for granted. For example; the inventory system shows an unrealistic display for the sake of gameplay. We have to suspend the belief that we can hold 3 full plate 3 great axe in our backpack. Amazon bows/crossbows implied that she reload when used. Quivers and bolts containers are there to implied that.

Also have you look at the demon hunter opening video? You will notice that she took the teeth from a slain demon and physical put in the crossbows. OK!!!

I think it makes a hell lot more sense if shes shooting shadow bolts or something that can be easily created using mana/energy/"magic".

This is why we are upset. They gone too far with nothing to back them up. Please don't try and blame "its a fairytale game" arguemnt; it makes your comment so baseless and ignorant.

Another soul keep using "magic" to trying to explain how a non-magical, physical device, mechanical device how it should work. Why even need xbows when you can create projectile towards you enemy using "magic" instead huh?. read my earlier post and understand "magic".

.. You do understand you're arguing logic, about magic.. Right?

I respect opinions, but you're arguing logic, about magic in a fairytale universe, in a game.

What are you two talking about? I argue that when you guys say thing like using magic to reload; your're not using logic at all. I'm talking blizzard and some souls out there aren't using logic at all.

Crossbows are mechanic device. You can't change the way they function, unless you change the design. Crossbows uses a string of something and projectile like bolt are fed into the xbows. This maybe a fantasy game, but lets not making things without a sense of how things work.

Even magic have their limitations. I'm sure you can manipulate some form of energy into that bolts crafted from the bones of demons to produce dire effects. The absolute basic of xbows is pretty much can sum into two functions.
    1. To hold the projectile
    2. to fire the projectile. (and yes, amazon magic shot is considered; using mana/magic to form a physical-energy projectile)

This is pure logic here. Magic effects after whatever the projectile the xbows fires. Read the amazon lore.

All this talk about how duel crossbows are terrible, and impossible to use, you should comparing the other crazy things that other classes/skills of the DH do in contrast to using 2 crossbows. If you're going to boo about something not fitting the lore, or "realism" of the game than at least compare it with other extreme surrounding examples..

Crossbows feeling to much like guns? I can see that, mostly through her animations when she shots. I don't mind it honestly, I just see how someone could make the comparison.

    QFT

Really, I don't know why people are so hung up on DH dual-wielding crossbows. For one, its a game there are plenty of things unrealistic that make less sense than auto-reloading crossbows. If they have the knowledge and ability to use traps, why would DH's having the ability to have auto-reloading crossbows be so unrealistic. Also they dabble in shadow magic which could be another reason why its possible.

The thing about one hand axes and swords is because of balance and strength. Barbs are strong and big. all he does with those weapon is smashing and hacking someone. same thing with crossbows. I'm SURE he can hold one on each hand.... To whack someone with it. Thats not firing and reloading. Unless you move at the speed of sound; you can technical "drop" the xbows, feed the bolts in, and catch it back in your hand every time you need to reload.
