Kiserai, the Wizard is not a "trained" mage or a sorceress. She (he) is an outcast, rejecting the common understanding and teachings of elemental magic. Not anything that has been really touched or explained in depth in the lore previously.
Wizards are not traditionally "schooled" anywhere.
She was a rebellious student, but a student regardless among the mage clans in Caldeum itself.
Obviously this particular character is a prodigy, but to separate out this class as much as you are implying from the lore that surrounds quite literally almost every other spellcaster in every Diablo game and book is ludicrous.
Secondly, the fact that Blizzard 'has said nothing about the region' doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.
Well, it seems they neglected to teach our wizard manners on her native island of Xiansai, for she was a rude and uncooperative student from the very beginning.
She is from Xiansai. Just because D3 isn't released yet doesn't mean that you must cling to the only things that you currently know about and deny the facts about things that are just about to be explored.

Yes, I know she is. If you aren't going to read the rest of the thread, don't post and act like you know the context of the conversation.
Did I say Xiiansai didn't exist, did I? My point, which you've obviously failed to grasp even slightly, is that it seems more than a bit unlikely that Blizzard is going to represent an entirely new region and culture with a class that is....oh, look at that, a spell-casting class straight out of Caldeum. She was born in Xiansai but sent to Caldeum at a very young age; from Blizzard's wording, probably before she was even, what, 10 years old? To be trained as a mage. Just like the caster in D1. Just liked the dark-skinned Sorc. in D2. Just like 90% of the people that can cast spells in all of Diablo lore. Where the Mage Clans are / were headquartered...
Have I clarified my point yet?
Why is it everyone is coming at this and nitpicking over very very tiny, biographical details / items of syntax instead of looking at the incredibly obvious and simple pattern Blizzard is using to use classes as a kind of regional rep. for the different areas of Sanctuary? This really isn't at all complicated.

Kehjistan is the massive conglomerate of all the jungle regions ... Ureh, Kurast, VizJun, GeaKul. Not the desert region, thats Aranoch and Caldeum. Caldeum is to the very northwest of Kehjistan, might fall under its administration but for all intents and pruposes shouldnt be representative of Kehjistan, which is like 90% jungles.
Partially incorrect. Please actually go look at the world map on www.diablo3.com
While certain places seem inconsistent on their references to a point, Caldeum is -always- included as part of the Kehjistan region. Blizzard's own map places the labels nearly on top of one another.
You are right it includes the jungles as well; I should be more specific in saying that it seems blatantly obvious that the Wizard is the regional rep. of Caldeum / etc., the 'home' of mages for thousands and thousands of years, whereas the Witch Doctor is clearly the rep. for the far southern areas (Torajan jungles).
I still don't agree. To me she's going to represent Xiansai. I mean Mount Arreat was destroyed so I imagine the Barbarian hasn't been home lately, does he now represent where ever he's been living?
I guess we'll have to wait and see if they release another Caldeum/Desert based character.
Hey, are you kind of kid who reads the last page of a mystery first? Who pesters the magician to tell you his tricks? Who sneaks downstairs to peek at his Christmas presents? Nooooo... of course you're not. That's why I'm noooot goooonna teeeeell yoooou!
I think that this can help us pin point the next class along with the other hints we collected so far. The quote is from Bashiok and was written in the Article on the D3 environments (July 2008). We can see the Magician Aka the wizard there and the other hint is the word Sneak. Maybe can it point out to a kind of assassin/ranger type? Like a scavenger or an Arabic like ranger... who knows?
Not everything Bashiok says is directly linked to D3. He doesnt speak in riddles.. The long wait is just making us want to see things that just arent there.
I heard by the time the seventh Harry Potter book came out people had already guessed pretty much everything about it's plot. So who's to say with all the people theorizing about Diablo 3 that none of us is right?
lol
well we are mostly just basing the guesses off of formulas
its really up to blizzard whether they want to break these formulas or not lol
its easy to make a game when we post what we expect all on the forums xD
The problem with Amazons are that they are exclusively female. So we won't see the Amazon return. I'm not sure if I consider that a good or a bad thing.
actually there were males but they didnt fight lol
they used em as sex toys =3
still for same reason i dont see amazon coming back since the men didnt fight
Yes, I've said exactly this, haha. Not to touch again on the apparent debate as to whether or not the Wizard 'represents' the Xiansai region (if you think that class does, you're on drugs but all the power to you), but it seems apparent a class will, and considering all the speculation as to the Asian name, my guess is we're going to see a Diablo-fied ninja class; specializing in ranged / thrown weapons, with some martial arts to mix things up, all with a decided Asian theme, hailing from Xiansai.
Not that i'm racist or anyhting but isn't diablo supposed to be a fantasy world. Race shouldn't be so specific but are to be consider differents tribes, and not a copy of our worlds. Especially with this whole asian theme thing.

So, there aren't races in a fantasy world? There have always been people of varying races in Diablo. There are a variety of darker-skinned peoples resembling people of Middle Eastern descent in the 'real' world, so why would having an Asian-looking race be any different?
But to be clear and fair here, I and others are talking much less about the Asian 'race' as opposed to the Asian culture and military history, etc. There have been weapons and names rooted in Asian culture and weaponry all through Diablo, so it makes a lot of sense that Xiansai but a kind of Diablo-world equivalent, considering its name.
No, not that. I mean darker-skinned people looked “mystical” and look like it’s really from another world. Now this "Asian" theme looked strikingly very similar to the Chinese. The concert art looks OK but the models look Chinese. As if they kidnapped someone from china into sanctuary.
Ya put more Asian Weapons ! I just love katanas... ya... sweet .
Anyway, I think that it's gonna be an arabic archer similar to the ninja. Don't have the exact name but a kind of sand ryder or djiin master. A master of illusion and bow. That char will be a heck of a ride, i'll tell you that :P.

I'd quote the first line directly but I hate doing people's homework for them.
