i like the new look. but i had a thought just now. isnt all angels suposse to have the tendrils? and are they suppose to be the same as the way in d2 or the old one in diablo 3 site? so a thought i had was that his wings are disipating. or fading away. because he was punished by the heavens for destroying the worldstone or something. its just a thought i just had.
This new look made Tyreal look a lot more powerful, and it also adds this type of aura around him, making him feel yet kind of different from any other angel. I choose the first option.
i like the new ghostly wings look, but i dont understand how people see it as more "powerful"
they look weak compared to the tentacles he had before (which look like they could stab you)
Both of them look cool on the first look, and it doesn't seem like that big a change, but just start thinking about it.
The way in the cutscenes he used these otherworldly tendrils to fight, grab, walk, climb...
Just some random pics. I believe they used the withered and ghostly wings just to spice things up a bit. Mostly because of THE LAST PICTURE. When you view it at the first time, it does cause some chuckles. In the whole melancholic, dark and gloomy world of Diablo, he sort of stands out by portraying a more virtuous nature. A goodie two shoes. But everything else from styling and execution of the look fits right at home in Diablo. He is meant to be on the oher side.
And of course you can see the different styles of tendrils he has in each picture, Somewhere they're like noodles (they do look a bit - i admit), somewhere like a primordrial entity clawing from him. It looks awesome.
The matter on which spears are broken in everyone's mind is that before they resembled extended hands and tentacles, instead of the 'wings'. I cannot accept the fact of what they've done to the most memorable character.
Now he just looks like a guy in a cape and cloak with something withering on his back. We already saw that in the ghouls and whights in Diablo 2, and the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the picture was that it reminded me of death. It wasn't synonymous with Tyrael any longer. To be honest I completely fell in love with the new way the Diablo character was portrayed (even though that might pose some difficulties in-game), but this I cannot accept.
That is what made him special in my mind. The hood under which the face cannot be seen. The glowing white and gold armour, the parts of his body deliberately shadowed... and the biggest hit on my senses: his tentacle-like wings.
They managed to escape the typical angel look that we all knew and brought something new to the table. An angel more fit in the whole Diablo universe and ambience.
It IS STILL cool, even though they had chopped out a piece of him, but to word out my opinion: I DON'T LIKE HIS NEW WINGS as much as I liked the ones before.
They are removing a piece of what made him unique.

lol it can still easily be a ranger since who said you cant shoot arrows at melee distance xD

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
As mentioned in the topic about the change, the way it is now suits more the lore descriptions. His wings arent tentacles. They are described as "wings of fire". It took very little time to get used to it and even less time to like it.
And his wings arent unique to him. Every angel is supposed to have the same wings.
The animation of Tyrael on the main menu had it's wings changed more than once. I was reffering to the first re-vision. Yes, there was one before, with more bluish wings, similar to the wraights in D2:
It was changed about half a day later. Anyway, I agree that the current version looks good. My point was to make it known not to allow further drastic changes. Touch-ups perhaps.
No more drastic changes like this faggot right here:
^That looks bad. My post was merely a prevention of sorts.

I honestly dont give a shit but i voted that i liked the new ones anyways
Were talking about a world of magic and other fantasy crap....not much logic there
Yes, there isn't much logic, really. They don't flap or anything, and obviously can't support his weight against air (especially since they're just tendrils and not wings). Looks, I guess.
The disheveled wings of new might mean he's losing his angelic prowess for siding with the humans and not the High Heavens. Doesn't mean he's evil (from our perspective, he'd be the logical good). That's just my opinion, anyway.
i like the new tentacles however as i feel they represent what tyrael looked like in the final cinematic.

Let's not use logic then and choose blindly. Maybe they're electrical chords? Or 50 penises? For now, until proven otherwise, they are wings.
