Yes, I prefer a more jagged picture of Gothic 3 or Neverwinter Nights 2 rather than the sleek look of Oblivion. Among graphical innovations, I would like to see proper shadowing and lightning. And, detail textures, something Neverwinter Nights 2 lacks.
hmmm....a solar eclipse show that the world's doom was nearing is not a bad storyline. I actually think that in D3 they should incorporate that in the story. Maybe have a NPC tell you about the time when all was darkness and evil arose in the darkness's wake. I like that. Woot Woot Oblivion

the necromancer's lair in ACT 5 was pretty gloomy....
Overall, ACT5 IMHO was no less gloomy than ACT2. Yea, it was pretty creepy when the vipers darkened the ACT... but shouldn't that clue you in on how storylines are built, more than anything? Think back... ACT5 was in the middle of an invasion. It starts pretty, but then you step outside the camp-- into a warzone created by something that resurrected the king of terror-- just to find that it is all what you make of it.

Because if the invisible guy the president believes in isn't the real invisible guy then the real invisible guy gets mad and no longer powers our economy with his invisible hand. Jesus, have you never even read anything about economics?
I think that ACT 1, ACT 3, and ACT 4 captured the true essence of what Diablo was all about.
I do agree that Act 2 had its moments but I really thought that the cosmic place beneath the palace was a little too...stupid. It drew away from the overall view on how the game went. It went from hell on earth to “Space Destroyers” or something.
If they did end up making Diablo III in 3D they could create a world with carnage and gore. They could create blood-dripping candleholders, blood stained armor, hack and slash wounds, and the best part, bodies that never went away. I kinda liked that about Diablo, you could always tell where you had been by the dead bodies.
I wish I could be the same when i play either diablo 1 or 2...I have been playing the games for so long now that there is no creepyness or exictement...even when i find the most godly item...I am not really that excited...lol...kinda funny when you think about my fiancee lying in bed...i dont get excited...lol just kiddin...she's hot

Btw I voted for WOW style graphics,
Ok I have been looking for any sign of news or anything D3 related. My question is what valid proof do we have for the upcoming release of D3? Is there any? I am like everyone else I want it bad, but I have not seen anything substantial enough to cause any excitement.
If there is any please tell me. Also what happened with that guy that had seen the demo of D3? Was it fake? I would love to see that.
I'd prefer more of Diablo II graphics. Advanced of course, where models and scenery and such are rendered in 3D and placed within the isometric view of Diablo II. This would allow for more realistic looking maps with curved rivers, rockfaces, walls and such...
Another good idea would be to allow zoom in (perhaps into proper 3D form, but that's not really necessary) Plus, another good idea would be to have a rotating function which would rotate the camera view... (Since the models would be rendered in 3D it shouldn't be much a problem) D3 in 3D, it's only logical.
While Act 5 in diablo 2 wasnt as gruesome, or as dark and terrifying as other acts it gave a refreshing change of scenery to the game. If you use too much of the same enviornments the atmosphere gets old and less exciting to be in. Diablo 2 offered a good variety of terrain. I think the acts in diablo 3 should reflect the situation in the story. For example, at more desperate times in the games story, the enviornments should become more hostile and terrifiying. At the begining of the game the enviornments should be full of twists, suprises and unexpected terrain, since your character is a noob and just learning about the strangeness of the battle against evil.
Wow its been way to long and if anybody has any idea hot to get my hi-hat pedal to stand up email me at heath-_fuller@hotmail.com this isnt cool it wont stand up god im so pissed:mad:

I voted for Twilight princess graphics because to be honest I believe they are beyond Oblivion. I will have to say though that I want the quality form the game not the game/graphic engine. That level of graphics put into the D2 engine and play perspective would be possibly the most beautiful thing possible.
I would say diablo 2 would be nice because everyone loves it and who wants to leave that cool way its been done. im sure alot of people do but i just love diablo that way and im sure alot of people are with me on that.
But if they go 3d which is most likely. be kinda cool to have graphics that arent to costy yet good. good 100 dollar card wouldnt be to bad. i like the graphic in guildwars but it gets kinda gay and teleporting would probably be a bitch if like diablo. i would like them to make a world like guildwars but then characters all the same looking kinda keeo alot of the diablo 2 spirit in it.
my opinion (very unorganized i kno w/e)

I would have to agree with ya on the first part...however, I fear that going to 3D graphics on Diablo 3 will cause MAJOR lag and glitches. Just think on all the action you see on Diablo 2 LOD Battle.net, now try to picture that in 3D. See my point. Alot of people will NOT upgrade their systems for better gameplay, that will lag even more! When you have the hellfire torch (if they have that item in Diablo 3) all of the sorcery spells from casters, players and monsters, and all of the renderring the game will be constantly doing, it will probably not be a great game to play (sorry, I wont play a game that will Lag like a mofo)

Which presumes that D3 is like D2 except in terms of graphics, which it will not.
amen to that. It looks like most people in here expect Diablo 3 to be like a Diablo 2 expansion with slightly better graphics. Its gonna be a whole new game, peeps!
and as of the "3d graphics cause lag" thats not right. Think of 3 strong multiplayer titles with great graphics: World of Warcraft, Guild Wars and EverQuest 2. All 3 have good, 3d graphics, all of them have a world that shows ALL playable characters at the same time (that can be thousands at the same place in world events, cities etc) and still it works fine server-wise. Graphics might cause frame lag to some users that dont have decent systems, but Blizzard usually doesnt have too high requirements for their games anyway. A system close to the minimum requirements should be enough to play it.

Yeah I know, However they will probably most likely be going into the 3d world. and if so that would most def be the way i would like it to be. cool to have same panel at bottom only new skin for it. and yeah it will prolly have tons of glitches and lag. that would probably kill it quick for me to. its just that they dont have the same people making d3 so they are probably thinkin of goin 3d. unlike the original makers who would probably want to keep it in the 2d and just keep making sequels to that. but none of us kno how it will really be. just hoping for something with low system requirements but good graphics in a 2d world

Some people look at skateboarding has a heinous crime,
If you ask me the thing that would really bring out the essence of the game would be the atmosphere. Here is what I think would make the game a ton better. No sound. All you hear are the daunting drips of blood, wind, creeking of doors and other objects, your footsteps, the cry's and wails of the demons and the tortured victims of Diablo. Oh and the fire crackling in Hell.
What do you guys think?
