I've been logging some hours on the Diablo3 skill calculator, and I've just tonight realized something that I'm surprised more people aren't buzzing about. Specifically the Monk mobility skill "Dashing Strike". While at first this skill seems just as balanced as the other class mobility skills (at least from what we've seen, especially in the beta so far) but there is more to it than that. The beta doesn't have access to Runestones and the skill calculator quickly points out the culpriit:
Crimson Runestone
"Soaring Skull" Fly through the air head first, slowing the movement of all enemies along the path by 50% for 10 seconds.
through the air head first...
head first...
Am I the only one that realizes how amazing this skill becomes once rune'd?! So far as I can tell the Monk is the only class that has anything this awesome. As soon as I have access to a crimson rune I'm going to socket it into my mobility right away. The spirit cost is only 10!! I'm going to be flying head first into demon spawn literally (comically?) all the way through inferno. I can only imagine how useful the slow will be there! INB4 nerf!

I think its way too early to determine what is "OP", youll have to generate spirit power back at some point.
Edit: it only does %50 weapon dmg, so i doubt you'll be destroying hordes of monsters even with 10 spirit cost
It's 50% movement speed, and that's not the part that is overpowered anyway. The fact is the monk is going to be shooting around head first to get from spot to spot like a human rocket. I can only imagine how awesome this looks, and every time I think about it I start cracking up (hands by sides, throwing body head first through the air, maybe a rainbow trail? The monk's moves are very shiny it's possible!)
Also, the Tempest Rush will cost Spirit for each second it is active, so it seems more like a "click and plow through hordes of enemies" move that is spirit heavy if you want to get anywhere.

Right, but that's the point. Let me give you an example:
You're a monk. You're busy kicking the living sh!t out of everything, having a ball, as monk's are wont to do. When suddenly, you spy a group of gnarly looking beasts. Naturally, you rush up and start wailing on them. They just eat your strikes, and start wailing right back at you. All the sudden, you're at 25% life, and you're like "Damn, time to get outta here and regroup". You've just been generating some serious spirit, so you've got some to burn. You use Tempest Rush (I always call it Templar Rush for some reason lol) and blast right through them to safety. Since Tempest Rush knocks enemies aside (and, as well as your headbutt skill, it also slows them 50%) you have a clear path to escape through.
Not to mention, every single runed version of Tempest Rush has an awesome effect:
Alabaster: Increases the slow to 71%
Crimson: Affected enemies also have their damage reduced by 60%
Golden: Reduces spirit cost to 5 per second (now its actually cheaper than headbutt until you've been going 2 seconds.
Indigo: Increases movement speed to 140% of normal (my personal fav)
Obsidian: Damage reduced by 65% while moving
All of which are very viable. That is why I consider Tempest Rush the monk's movement skill.
Also (and this may just be due to the low levels attainable in the beta) the dashing strike distance doesn't seem too great.

I'm really not seeing how this is overpowered in any way.

Somebody else understands the power behind this! Hopefully this is as over the top and ridiculous as it reads.
Edit: only so far a diety and an endboss have had this kind of finesse.
