posted a message on how to one-rend kill mobs, more chd?
A lot of your DPS is coming from Attack Speed, which doesn't effect Rend. One hit rend kills come from high weapon damage and high crit damage. You'll also want enough crit chance to crit fairly reliably. Because of that, Ruthless and Weapon Master are more or less required for decent efficiency.

Try picking up an IK Belt so you can replace Bloodthirst with Brawler. The attack speed on WH doesn't help you with rend. 30% extra damage from Brawler will really help with your rend damage.

Right now, your Rend crit damage is just above 2.6 Mil with Battle Rage, Brawler, and Ruthless active. That's good for farming MP8-MP9. If you want to do MP10, you'll want to shoot for 3.5 Mil or so. The trick is balancing enough attack speed to maintain fury gen while getting high weapon damage. Oh, and staying alive.

posted a message on [Price Check] Rare Daibo 1412 DPS, Black Weapon, Socket
I haven't been able to find anything like it. The only Daibos in the same DPS range were the set Daibo.

    1412.2 DPS
    1.22 Attacks per second
    +314 Min Damage
    + 322 Max Damage
    +42% Damage
    11% Increased Attack Speed
    Socket

I know it's not godly because no Dex and no base crit damage, but I have no basis for comparison on the AH.

    Thanks!

This math has been done before. They're almost identical in the end.

Devouring has slightly higher damage potential, but puncturing is more reliable. Puncturing has a smaller proc coefficient than devouring, so for proc considerations it's basically a wash.

posted a message on A Gift for DH Players: Detailed Analysis On Sharp Shooter
Unless I'm mistaken, your analysis is based on the premise of one attack (i.e. one critical hit chance) per shot, correct?

Unfortunately, the vast majority of Demon Hunters are using skills that hit more than once per projectile, meaning the critical hit chances per second is far higher than a simple shot/second analysis. That should result in a much lower average CHC than otherwise predicted.

posted a message on need advice on weapon
It's going to depend a bit on what build you use. If you're using big hatred spenders like Cluster Arrow, you're going to want to use Manticore. If you're using Elemental Arrow or Chakram, faster weapons can be nice for spamming the field.

I have a similar Windforce and Manticore, and I prefer the Windforce playstyle because of its speed. That said, The manticore is like 20k DPS better due to the crit damage. Your cutoff point is going to depend on your critical chance. If you have 30% or so, the difference will be smaller, but as you climb up to 40 or 50% crit chance, Manticore's extra crit damage just blows everything else away. So right now I'm using the Manticore, trying to get used to the slower attack speed.

posted a message on What happened to Gem prices????
Yeah, this makes no sense. It costs 15.4 million in gold alone to craft a Radiant Star, assuming you have all the mats to do it yourself. There is no way to reduce the crafting cost below this number.

Anyone who is selling a Radiant Star gem for less than that is losing money, period.

I think your analysis is missing the impact of additional drops in higher MP levels.

I mean, if the goal is to figure out when it's worth it to take longer to kill monsters, additional drops count.

Just started watching this and already have problems. The Xbow he's looking at, for him to find it like that is extremely rare. Xbows like that usually go for well over 1m on the AH, not the 50k he purchased it for.

Notice how many of the things he's searching for have precisely 1 thing with those stats in his price range. That is really telling. This isn't gear you are going to get your hands on easily.

Question OP, are you on EU? That would explain some things, because seriously - Doing a search for anything he posts gives me completely different results. Like his Ammy page starts at 100k, mine? http://imgur.com/xsaqo
That crossbow is not a 2 million crossbow. There are many many Xbows just like it for less than 250. You can even get a low end Manticore with similar stats if you want.

Try buying during the week instead of on the weekend. You'll always pay more on the weekend.

Also, this is an edited search. The screens that have one item look that way because he's changed the parameters based on what he's found until there is only one item. You can see this happen on the Crossbow at 1:05, he looks at the one he's going to buy, puts 250 vitality in the filter to see if there's anything else like it, and it ends up being alone.

posted a message on Bola question
I believe they do explode. I used to run a build using Bola + Impale - Overpenetration. I'd basically alternate attacks, landing a bola shot, then using impale to kill the victim causing the AOE to trigger.

Tried this and i have to ask, is it just me or does damage reflect get ignored sometimes with sentrys?
There has been several elites which dont reflect from sentrys, then again some do. Need more testing with this but curious to know if anyone else has encountered similar scenarios

There was a recent hotfix to repair a bug where Reflect Damage was not being triggered by pets. I think Sentries just trigger Reflect Damage all the time now.

I wouldn't call it lame. No one has been complaining that Jagged Spikes doesn't do enough damage. It's plenty strong as it is right now, especially since it can proc CC effects and Life on Hit.

It's not one of the skills that needed a buff.

I call it lame because I and I think a lot of people read it as a BUFF, but it's just a rewording by Blizz. That's why its lame. With 4PC Nata you can get near infinite caltrope which makes it total easymode. :P

I'm sorry you're disappointed, yet certainly no one can be blamed for how you chose to interpret a language change in an unofficial datamined tooltip.

I'd take Steady Aim. It doesn't depend on weapon type, and is a sizeable damage boost. It's not against the theme either, since you do have to aim your Chakram and your grenades.

Grenadier is another option, for more hatred generation. Or even culling the weak for the caltrops combo.

Anyway, I applaud anyone who's willing the think outside the box. I wish that more builds like this were viable in the later Acts in the same gear that the typical builds are.

    Experiment?

I don't know what you're using now, but until you hit Inferno just about everything is viable. Try everything and see what you like the most.

This is the build I had at level 30: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aRjXVT!Yea!baaZaZ

Actually, I used that right up to Inferno for the most part. Swapped in Nether Tentacles at 59, back when NT was super OP.

The leveling part of the game is the only part where you really get to play around with your skills, so enjoy it while it lasts.

I'm a big fan of the shadow effects. I love the visuals for Vault and Shadow Power.

Strafe's visual effect is pretty awesome, so I'm really hoping it gets a buff in 1.0.4 to become useful.
