I've been farming keys for about a week now. Built the Infernal Machine and entered once on MP1 and got my A** handed to me. Started again, and got the act 1 & 2 keys quickly, and act 3, I seem to only get once out of every 10 tries in public, MP0 games. My monk is paragon 32 now. My gear isn't great, but I seem to do better than 3/4 of the others in public games.
Yesterday, I got a friend request that I accepted, and looked today and found the guy's highest character, a paragon 6 wizard who has one. I played with him briefly, and he kept dying, yet this morning when I looked at his profile, he's got a Hellfire Ring. How? I was under the impression that it was bound to the account; it can't be bought or sold on AH, right?
How did he get the ring? Without dying? Without leveling paragon? I go up at least 1-2 levels per day lately. I see this ring almost like gem crafting; at a lower MP level (that i can handle) my chances of a key drop are small. Times 3 keys. Then I imagine the chance of dropping the three organ piecesfor the ring are similar. I'm thinking it will take me a month, at this rate.
You are missing the spammers that say "10m gold for mp10 uber kills". This is what you are missing.
Exactly. If you have the money, you can farm the ring out and get some folks to join you and kill the ubers on MP10 which will guarantee you all three parts for the ring. Heck, I see it being sold for less than 6 mill and you don't even have to provide the machines!

Much appreciated. I'm on pacific time. I'm usually on and off between 4:30 and 8 between dinner and the kids, then I've been on up until 11 or 12. I'll be friending you and try to hook up.

Don't have access to my LOH ATM. Here's a post i made elsewhere regarding my skill selections:
A couple of my favorites are unconventional by this web site's standards:
1 - My primary attack is Crippling Wave / Mangle. I tried FoT et.al, but drove me nuts to only hit one target at a time while the others smacked me around.
2 - Wave of Light / Explosive Light. This is my secondary (right mouse) attack. It does a pretty good job of clearing a mob so you can focus on the elites.
3 - Breath of Heaven / Penitent Flame. Fear is not popular here, but when I'm toe-to-toe with an elite and health is wearing down, I find it hard to effectively change course to go after a health globe. I usually end up getting hit worse. Instead, this skill fears the elite, and 8/10 times, there's a globe right behind them, that I end up getting as they run away, with me in pursuit. (I have no extended pickup radius, which is a PITA).
4 - I use Sweeping Wind w/ Blade Storm in lieu of Cyclone, because my Crit. Hit chance is only around 17%, and therefore don't spawn enough cyclones to realize its real benefit.
Serenity / Ascension is one I didn't use before seeing its recommendation and I've really come to like it. Especially when you are standing in a puddle of molten, or you see some frozen coming on. I think this one's pretty standard, as is Mantra of Convention / Overawe.
I bought an amulet last night that got me another 10% CHC, so I'm up to 27 now. Maybe I'll try Cyclone again.
My gear isn't great, but I seem to do better than 3/4 of the others in public games.
Everything regarding the Hellfire Ring was said (just team up, don't ever go there solo). Just a small point to add, and slightly offtopic: public games are dead, because you can't set paragon level (edit: MP level, of course. Thanks @lucretia1417). Well and some other reasons, but essentially what I want to point out that comparing yourself to players in public games, you get a very skewed view of the D3 community. However, on paragon 32 you should have decent gear and if not, you should find some nice upgrades every now and then (or gain money really quick).

Assume you meant MP. Yeah, I noticed that. The thing it's been good for is QUICKLY getting the the keywarden with a 5-stack. Unless I end up with some d-bag that pulls so far ahead of the group and kills him on his own and I don't get ANY drop.
I've struggled with gold since early on. I think the most i've ever sold anything at AH was for ~1MM. I'm trying to pay more attention to loot before I just sell it off as quickly as possible - looking for CHC or CHD.
Even legendaries I'm finding aren't selling for much.
Don't worry too much about that ring. It does make paragon leveling faster and it is kind of fun to put it on a low lvl char and virtually one-shot everything on MP10 normal mode with the proc. But that's about it.
If you're already in your paragon thirties and can't handle MP1 ubers, you have other issues.
I'd strongly suggest listening to those giving spec advice or reading a guide instead of defending your spec. (Note: I know nothing about the Monk class, haven't played it since beta, where I didn't like it.)
Use your 4 million gold to buy some basic equipment that makes that spec work and farm a3 on MP0. Get some magic find and pickup radius and generally get more effective at farming. Don't expect one sellable item in less than three full inventories of rares and even legendaries. But you gain millions of gold from just farming, that'll enable you to buy new upgrades, which make you farm faster or more efficient(via mf, gf, pickup) and so on.
Oh and besides:
It can get rather frustrating to farm the ring on your own. Even if you can handle higher MP-lvls, it takes a looong time and the bosses are much harder solo.
Splitting them -as already mentioned- makes a whole world of a difference, at least in the Siegebreaker/Kulle scenario.
im not the super greatest geared but ive started playing alot lately but i dont have anyone on my friends list that plays D3 so ill gladly do some runs with you anytime im on =D feel free to add me or anyone here thats lookin for someone to play with
Paragon lvl doesn't = how geared a character is. My buddy just got his monk to 60 a couple weeks back and can already farm mp 6 with ease and solo ubers (all of us tossed him some hand me down gear).

But it means some amount of time has been put into one character. If that doesn't equal gear, something went wrong.
I believe the bigger question here is: what the hell are you doing with that Mempo's? It's worth about 200 times what the rest of your gear is put together. If you sold it and bought gear with the money you'd be able to farm keys on mp7 or some such and do ubers on around the same - would take you a couple days playing 1-2 hours a day to get a hellfire ring rather than 10 years with the gear you have now on mp0 or 1.
PS: If this is a troll, which I do really hope it is, it's the best one I've seen on a game related website.
Good point. I actually found that piece. Even basted on strength, it gives me a boost. I've been using it for now, I hate to sell it without already having a good replacement..

Sell that bad boy while those are hot. I got a feeling some serious itemization changes are looming very soon ahead. Lots of imbalance and a rushed/botched job of buffing legendaries in 1.04 should witness some tuning and buffing in the near future, which could render those CC Mempo's considerably less valuable.
I may be wrong, but I'd consider it if I were you. I say this mainly because it is not spec'd for your main (STR)
i wouldn't even bother doing key/organ runs without being able to handle at least mp5. If you get a good group with different characters you can punch above your weight. The odds and time to invest at mp0 or 1 would never be worth it. I mean i saw that guy identify 10 hellfires with not one decent roll.
