I've never really used EP before 2.3. Using Uliana's, or as a skill, EP only goes to a single enemy, where when I see others, it applies to entire mobs. What am I missing?
My only add is that I prefer a follower who engages opposite my char: Monk = melee, so use enchantress or scoundrel that uses a ranged attack. When I played a DH, I used the Templar. The only downside to the ranged attack is they like to take a crack a goblins when you're not ready for them to do so.
I'm not yet near MP10, but here's my experience w/ LS: After 1.0.8 - floating between MP4 and MP5, I started making lots of changes, including getting a decent LS on my off-hand. That took me to a solid MP5. It took me a couple weeks to replace my main hand without much sacrifice to DPS with LS, but I finally found a deal, and now I'm comfortable at MP7. It's not fast, but I'm able to go toe to toe standing in desecrator, or even in Azmodan's black gook. Loving the 1.0.8 monster density bump; between density and higher MP, I haven't leveled so fast in a long, long time.
As a suggestion, I'd like to see an option for when you enter a buyout max to also show items that match your criteria that do not have a buyout, but that the current bid doesn't exceed your entered max buyout.
For example, say I'm looking for a fist weapon. I enter Dex = 100, has sockets, life steal = 2.5, cc/cd, but I only have 100MM to work with. If I put 100000000 in the max buyout, there's a bunch of auctions that I could bid on that meet my criteria that aren't listed. By showing both auctions with a max buyout under 100MM in addition to N/A's that are within my budget, I don't have to sort through all the stuff I clearly can't afford.
I hope I've explained myself well enough... would make shopping more efficient.
On the itemization thread, where they're talking about dropping fewer, but better items, I suggested, "hey, why not have a chance to drop better quality gems?" That would be nice..
Oh and ef suck balls if you cant kinda oneshot things on higher mps. The fear is super annoying. I sold mine a few weeks ago and never regret it.
Ditto. I kept EF for about a week and couldn't stand it. I tried WLK, and maybe I just had a poor one, but it didn't seem very effective to me. The only way I'd try WLK again is with a socket + LS.
I guess technically, this isn't monk-specific, but it bothers me when people are frequently asking for what to upgrade next and they have crappy gems.
Please, people, they don't have to be all marquises, but when none even have 5 sides, just do that first.
Which brings me to my next question: I see lots of threads on farming, and picking up rares, and which slots to even bother picking up. There was a time when I had like 400 tome of secrets, and I stopped picking them up. Gems too - especially ones I don't use, like topaz. But now I make it a point to pick up EVERY gem and tome I see. I keep the left column of my bag dedicated to them, and once I get up near the full stack (100) of most of the colors, I just upgrade them. Sometimes I throw them in my chest and continue to upgrade as I go along, and eventually, I sell most that aren't emeralds. What do you do about gems?

I get some ancients here and there, but never anything I want. e.g. No ancients for either set item builds. What do you do to get the gear you want?

If you're playing when the patch is released, is there an alert?
