Hello, everyone. Haven't posted in a while but something recently came to my attention so I wanted to see if anyone else agreed. I was reading an article recently that had to do with a lot of D3 concept art from Blizzard. At the bottom of the article they showed what was to be the final draft of Diablo's Concept. When I looked at the picture I was overwhelmed with many mixed emotions. Here it is:
Now if everyone would take a close look, I agree he does look pretty bad ass. However, take a look at his waistline and hips. That is not the figure of the Lord of Terror. All I really want to know is if anyone else has noticed this. Like I said this is the image that Blizzard has said to be the final concept for him, so it is safe to assume this is what he will look like in the actual game.
For the record, I have not played the beta and would like to tell anyone who is about to call me sexist to kindly fuck off. This has nothing to do with gender, other than how absurd the main antagonist looks compared to the first two games. I likely will not respond to any posts as I know how talking to most of you will lead to banging my forehead into a brick wall, but I will be reading your opinions. Thank you.
Well I admit to not looking very hard on the forums to see if anyone else had brought it up. I suppose this thread could be deleted, then, I'll just do some digging.

well, to save you some time;
The big theory is that he absorbs Leah, that's why he looks feminine. Another theory suggests he absorbs Adria, or both or something =D
in the beta you can collect a couple of Gillian's Journals
Gillian´s Journal 1
"Ogden and his wife have offered to let me and grandmother continue to stay with them. I think we will, now that the troubles are over. I am still tormented by horrific nightmares. I keep hoping they will fade, but the seem to be getting stronger"
Gillian´s Journal 2
"To think I was once afraid of Adria. She is going to take me to Caldeum with her soon. Caldeum! I never thought to see it with my own eyes...
Though it saddens me to leave Ogden and his wife, Adria assures me that she will find a cure for my nightmares"

Datamining isn't even needed to come to a pretty good conclusion on the issue. I haven't even seen any of the datamining except the class abilities (which are unrelated). Knowing the storyline of the Diablo series, the beta, and seeing the female Diablo picture has led me to this logic. No spoilers involved except from Act 1 (which is all over these forums).
I've spoiled the parts that are assumptions just in case, but they aren't spoilers unless you just don't want to think about what could happen.
The 'dark adventurer' from Diablo 1 (the player character) who slew Diablo only won in the battle of the flesh. In the battle of spirits, the dark adventurer slowly lost. (Source: Diablo 2 main storyline)
While he was infested with the spirit of Diablo, he conceived a child with Leah's mother (Adria). (Source: Adria's Journal, Act 1 of Diablo 3)
Leah has strange dreams which she repeatedly references (Diablo 3 Reveal Trailer, Diablo 3 Intro Cutscene, Diablo 3 Act 1, all the hell over).
Assumption: Part of Diablo's spirit was transferred to Leah upon conception.
Since we've already established that partial spirits of strong demons (Diablo) can slowly regain their strength and eventually control the host, it seems logical that the reason Diablo (while in control of the adventurer) had a child in the first place was to ensure a backup plan was in place for his return.
Conclusion: Leah becomes Diablo. Since the framework for his return is still her body, Diablo's demon form is a mutation of Leah's original body and therefore female.
I mean they could have a surprise twist, but it seems -extremely- likely that Leah is heavily involved with Diablo's return.
It's clear we don't know the whole picture (Adria's involvement and the nightmares), but I think the basic principle is likely.
Actually, I take it back. Clearly Deckard Cain is Diablo because he can survive meteors and 1000 foot drops.
This thread shouldn't exist, but now that it does that Gillian information is interesting. Where is that second journal found in the beta?
90% chance it's Leah though, the corruption of a character into Diablo doesn't have the same significance if it's a background character. More likely Adria used Gillian as an initial experiment to see if she could infuse a person with the soul of a demon... Or something. Then Leah gets to be the real victim!

Maybe feminine Diablo will be on a quest via act 5 and 6 to become a male again, or he let him self to be slayed so he can arise as a femalemale. Anyway, I will slay her even if she shape shift to look like angelina jolie. Oh the precioussss items

Agreed, I only ever saw part 1 of that, never part 2. That makes things all the more fascinating.
Hah, good point! Of course it could just be Horadric training makes you that much of a Badass.

Diablo has been gone for almost 20 years and skinny is now the new trend.
Everybody knows Diablo always follows the trends.
Yeah man, skinny jeans are no longer the "in" thing for just women. It's for guys too! Blizzard is keeping up with the times.

These thoughts run through my head
Over and over
Complaints of violins...

Maybe Tyrael helped him on the way down.
Edit: Women can be quite scary.
