Click on the link I posted and you will find out an dozen of green set items. Also, there are no quest items so far in D3. When you get leoric's crown, it doesn't appear in your inventory or anywhere.

Maybe I should have posted the diablo wiki link at the bottom of that guys post, which *is* up to date with all the info we know about item colours so far. The battle.net link doesn't have any true info when it comes to item colours, for example Italofoca - the set items are listed as green because they're being distinguished at this moment as set items, to Show that they do have item sets in the game right now. But numerous times I've read that set items will be classified as legendaries that give added bonuses when coupled with other pieces.

I'm not saying you aren't right, but can you post a link to prove? Because if I remember correctly, Blizz stated that the only color changes were the color for legendary items because the gold was too close to the uniques/rares yellow. Also, there is no reason for them to change the set color.
Took a bit of digging but I finally found some prove of set items being green.
Official Blizzard Quote:
ay Wilson: Then if we do set items they’ll be green, we haven’t made a call on set items yet.
That was back in '09 but since the sets on the site are still green since they last updated, it would be safe to assume that set items are still, in fact, green.

I don't always burn. But when I do, I use hellfire.
Did Legendary items replace unique items from D1 and 2?
Yep.
Oh Blizzard.. Why did you remove absolutely everything I loved about D2 from D3.
If I wanted item quality classified as "Legendary" as oppose to "Unique" I would have
kept playing WoW after TBC exp pack came out.. You will forever be missed Uniques.

Wiki page was last modified October 3, 2011.
Diablo IncGamers post, which notes that set items are not a sub-type of their own, was from June, 2011(and still has runes listed, and listed as purple).
If that is the up-to-date info that you're going on, I'm gonna stick to my guns and say that that information is out of date. Unless you can provide more recent information.
Well you don't have any references ;D and I found the quote from Bashiok in 2011 that states the set items won't be colour distinguished from legendaries. That info from October is the newest quote we have, unless someone wants to ask on the forums and wait for a blue reply. I'll post a link to Bashiok's statement in a minute (typing on my phone)
Now someone please prove me wrong about set colours, I'd love for them to be green but I'm just not seeing two totally different item types being the same colour (lore and armour). In short, I think that's stupid.

Hmm... Never heard they were using different colors in game and in the official game guide. Could you source that info ? And you heard this (1) because it worked like that for an while, but the game guide was updated with green items and some people didn't realise that. Not telling you're wrong or anything, it's just that between the official game guide and unofficial sources, i will stay with the official game guide.

Edit: between Bashiok's 2011 post and 2012's game guide, i will stay with the most up-to-date source. Unless, of course, you're right and the items in the game guide and in-game have different colors.
And the official game guide is a reference. Just my opnion, not trying to sound like jerk or anything XD
Either way we'll see soon enough haha, though no matter who's right the game will be there on the 15th of May for all of us to crack open and let our minds be blown

Totally Hehehe =D
I posted on bnet asking this question anyway. It's not a big deal, but i would be really sad without green set items.. hope you'r wrong budy =p

I have to agree, I hope set items are green >< I'd rather quest and lore items be purple or something.
If I wanted item quality classified as "Legendary" as oppose to "Unique" I would have
kept playing WoW after TBC exp pack came out.. You will forever be missed Uniques.
I feel the exact reverse. In D2 it always felt wrong for the items in the game most likely to have exact duplicates of themselves called "unique". If anything, rares in D2 should have been called unique (because it'd be damn near impossible to find two that were identical, right down to the name) and uniques should have been called rare (cause they weren't common, but pretty damn likely to have duplicates).
I for one am glad they made a system that doesn't make a mockery of the english language.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that was actually one of their reasons for changing not only the color, but the name as well, since yea a thousand people had the same 'unique'.
It's pretty funny, I started off playing D1 when I was about 9, but had no idea about a D2 in production. So my buddy started playing D2 when it came out before me, and was showing off the game (he was playing in single player). He shows me shadowfang, and says that it's an 'unique' and no one else is ever going to find the sword. I thought that was pretty cool until I found the same one awhile later, and we go into a fight as to what the name actually meant =D
I don't know if this has been mentioned, but it seems that so far in the Beta, blue+ items are a very poor source of income. They seem to exist only to be equipped or salvaged. However, this may very well not be the case come Hell and Inferno. I remember amulets and the like in D2 selling for a cap of 35k gold, which was an excellent source of gold for reviving mercs and gambling.
They were called Uniques because they were 'unique' in the game lore: they had a name (not a random name) and a back-story behind them, they weren't just random names with random properties. They weren't necessarily 'one of a kind' items (i.e., random properties), but to me they were very much 'unique' items. A 'Griswold's Edge' with fixed properties is more unique (to me) than some 'Death Knot' with random, one of a kind combination of affixes.
You're right and you're wrong, either way they were using the wrong word.

Yep.
There are also set items with green colour.http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/immortal-kings-will
Edit: italofoca I'm 90% sure set items are orange as well because quest items are green
Just the first link I came across explaining it http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/3196341164
Pretty sure that list is extremely outdated.
See here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/

Journals are green however.
thanks for clearing that up
