BlizzCon 2016 Hype
A recent tweet by the official Diablo account has shoot our expectations for this year's BlizzCon through the roof. After a user tweeted that they hope Diablo gets some sort of announcement, they replied with "BlizzCon will be really cool this year" ! Can we get super hyped already?

wudijo's Support Wizard Guide
wudijo has put together an in depth guide for a high Greater Rift support Wizard. It uses the 4-piece bonus from Delsere's Magnum Opus, pulls enemies with Energy Twister and Ranslor's Folly, and controls them with Slow Time and Black Hole, while tanking everything. Check out the guides below!
Hey everyone,
in S7 we have seen a revival of the support wizard, and since no one really seems to talk about it and I played it for a bit this season, I decided to make a little guide for it. I tried to keep it short and concise, both the written and recorded parts. I recommend watching the video to see how it works in action, the main aspect (Ranslor's Folly pull) has a very unique mechanic that is easier to understand when you see it.
Support Wizard is generally used as the second (with Monk) or third (with Monk + Barb or DH) support in groups and can have a big impact especially in open, dense or dangerous rifts if played correctly, however you need to cooperate with your group a little bit more than with other support classes.
Skills:
- Energy Twister - Wicked Wind (Ranslor's Folly trigger, Gale Force's 15% additive boost not really worth for its inconsistency with pulls)
- Slow Time - Any Rune (we have all with Crown of the Primus)
- Frost Nova - Bone Chill (33% additive for 2sec)
- Explosive Blast - Chain Reaction (damage red with Orb of Infinite Depth and for proccing Conflagration)
- Black Hole - Event Horizon (remove elite affixes, can be swapped to Wave of Force - Debilitating Force for damage red and globe spawn with Solanium)
- Teleport - Safe Passage (or Wormhole without Cosmic Strand)
Evocation, Conflagration, Unstable Anomaly I would consider as mandatory passives. The last two slots go to Cold Blooded, Blur, Galvanizing Ward or Illusionist.
Item setup:
3pc DMO + RoRG, Crown of the Primus, Illusory Boots, Ranslor's Folly + Strongarm or Nemesis (cube one, equip other), Aether Walker, Orb of Infinite Depth + Cosmic Strand (cube one, equip other), Obsidian Ring, Oculus Ring, Aquila Cuirass, String of Ears or Vigilante Belt if you feel tanky enough.
Hellfire Amulet is recommended but not a requirement.
Stack CDR on every piece, after that RCR. A little bit of IAS, CHC and ApoC help but is not really required, stacking defense is viable too.
Legendary gems are Toxin, Gogok and then either Iceblink, Esoteric or Moratorium.
Playstyle:
The playstyle is fairly simple, keep up your Orb of Infinite Depth buff and then, most importantly, you are there for pulling monsters together with Twister + Ranslor's Folly. After that you stay in the fight, buff/debuff and remove dangerous elite affixes with Black Hole. Make sure you always have a Slow Time bubble up, especially after entering a new floor, otherwise you lose the DMO 4pc bonus and risk getting oneshot on some pulls. If you don't have a Barb in group, you should also try to pull monsters either via body pull or by using Ranslor to get them closer to the fight or through corridors, doors, etc. Consider watching the videos to see a bit more of the gameplay.
Here's also a GR101 3man clear in 12min I did with this a couple days ago: GR101
Enjoy!
Quoting sargon16 from the Reddit thread...
"If they deliver, Mega Maximum Hype
If they disappoint, Mega Maximum Despair
No middle ground here, at all."
... indeed =] let's hope for the absolute best!
now, what did i said before? nothing will be at gamescom, and a big announcement at blizzcon. my words, again, proved itself true.
i also said making d3x2 is a stupid idea, and it will be surely something not-related to d3. also not a card game, not hd remake, not anything connected to those simple things. it will be a BRAND NEW GAME. you will see that i ll be proven right again.
Guessing... speculating... it's all pointless, and all hype should be kept at minimum.
isnt this happen 7 years ago ? they show'd diablo 3 with diablo 2 elements runes talents etc and remove it after release the game
im not rly hype for this crap think they gonna show something then lets wait another 5 years . after losing many core fans there no hope from blizzard ty
saying that they won't make a card game is easy. hearthstone is right there and blizzard wouldn't want to compete with that. the hd remake on the other hand is a safe bet, since they announced a starcraft remake.
sooo. that leaves you with a brand new game. in the diablo universe. which would be diablo 4. at this point, where nothing of value is added to diablo 3, that would be very nice. another expansion would be nice too, but it isn't a stupid idea.
i just can't get why they didn't say or show or at the very least tease A BIT of what is coming. it would create a positive hype for them. and if they really want to announce something at blizzcon, they should have something worked on already.
Last time they hyped Diablo, people were disappointed. They learned their lesson. Whatever they reveal, they know they have to release it within a year of their announcement, following how they released Overwatch, and avoid what they did for the release of vanilla D3 and Heroes of the Storm.
With how divided the community is about the franchise, all I can say is, they're damned either way.
Orrrrr.... They're just saving face and keeping people pulled in until that point at least because that's smart business and probaly nothing will happen still.
I'm tired of this "sorry, next time guys" shit. They say that because of big community dissapointment after no news about Diablo at Gamescom. Propably there will be nothing special, HD remake or something. @inkcheese, you say they learned their lesson. I learned my lesson too: never be hyped, so you never be dissapointed again.
They have something or several things well over 50-60% through development that they will discuss at Blizzcon.
i'm guessing next patch all sets will be balanced, no more legendary items without a power. Thougher boss fights
Blizzcon Season 8 announcement with unique map icons for every vendor!
And another new Season portrait that makes your paragon level unreadable. Again.
Seriously though it would have been nice if they'd at least bothered to say 'look forward to Blizzcon' or SOMETHING at Gamescon instead of keeping fans they knew were waiting for a potential announcement waiting for each segment.
Oh well, watching D2 was a cool retrospect kind of thing. I loved it in its day but looking at the game now, wow there is so much wrong with it that the rose tints forget.
Regarding D3, I am beginning to think Xpac 2 has been completely scrapped for a new Diablo project. That being said, I look for them to have a major systems change patch coming in the next 6 months, as well as the addition of many of the new features that a 2nd xpac would have provided us.
I see Blizzcon being a trio for Diablo, having the D2 news and unvealing for HD. Having the MAJOR D3 changes incoming, and then lastly having a sneak peak at this new Diablo project, whether it be D4 or some other game (such as a Diablo style tower defense, or a Diablo style MMOARP, or both tbh!!!)
My guess is still that at Blizzcon, they'll release some sort of DLC pack with an Act 6 campaign; whether free for paid. Finishing off the D3 story with one of the hand drawn styled cutscenes is kinda crappy and this will at least make the game somewhat complete. They don't have a game director atm so I doubt that it'll be the release of a fully fledged xpac with an increase in character level, new skills, new class, etc. There's a lot of work that follows post release with balancing that stuff but a new Act is doable.
Meanwhile, they'll probably showcase some legendary powers for the remaining items with no powers, and maybe another round of 6pc sets, one for each class, to look forward to in 2017... maybe an increase in stash tabs to 15? These things are small scale enough that someone at Wyatt Cheng's could oversee it.
There might be a tease of D4... maybe introducing the new game director if they've hired the person but I seriously doubt they'll be showcasing anything, just announcing that they're working on it and that it'll be released when it's ready.
I have it on good authority (a blizzard employee friend) that D3 is getting the necromancer class. I do not know more than that. The message he sent me is "D3 Necro Shh".
and even they bring necro druid watever 100 more new class it doesnt help , game is dead only 20k or maybe max 30k ppl playing this game no more
It's funny, because it's true!
