Starter Edition Updates.
A good point was made, that the string could just mean a character has reached max level for the starter edition, and then becomes locked.

We already knew this, but its in the strings now so just pointing it out
DiabloFans Quote:
- The Mistress of Pain is now The Maiden of Lust
- Encounter changed from Defeat the Mistress and destroy the final Demon Heart! to Defeat the Maiden and destroy the final Sin Heart!

Barbarian
- Weapon Throw Cost: 10 Fury / Hurl a throwing weapon at an enemy for 100% (down from 120%) weapon damage and Slow the movement of the enemy by 60% for 2 seconds.
- Mighty Throw : Increase thrown weapon damage to 130% (down from 156%) weapon damage.
- Throwing Hammer : Hurls a hammer with a 50% chance (down from from 75%) to Stun the target for 2 seconds
- Paralysis Lightning damage dealt to enemies now has up to a 8% (up from 5%) chance to Stun the target for 3 seconds (changed from 2).
The starter edition is what they're calling their free-to-play versions (or what used to be their demos). Kind of how you can play WoW for free up to level 20, but there are other restrictions besides just the level (no non-vanilla content, auction restrictions, etc).
Nope, just have mad skillz
Actually, this is only partially true. What we could never come to a census on was whether or not to keep Scrolls of Companion in the game. Took us this long to finally pull the plug on that one.
Barb/Wiz/DH
I don't think this means you won't be able to pick some of the 5 classes in the Starter Edition. I think it's more like trying to log onto a high-level character using the starter edition. Still a little confusing since in WoW, you can lapse your subscription and then try to access an old character using starter edition, but Diablo 3 isn't subscription based...
Ah, that almost makes sense for the reasons you gave..
It's probably better that way too, maybe it stops you from playing a charcter that has reached the max level in the starter edition unlike in the Beta were you can play one character at 13 until the patch comes home?

My account is unaffected, so they can't have released the patch yet... Maybe saving it for late-night? <_<
edit: I need to stop agonizing over what I want to say in my comment.
But they do. Keep in mind they have had DB changes that we dont know about, and other backend things
This is the LAST patch (99.9%) of beta. This is the last run for them. SO having ALL fresh data, and making sure it all goes good is kind of important
