BlizzCon -- Submit your questions
So here is the official share your Diablo III questions for the developers. Please, let's keep it simple. No art direction questions, that's a theme deeply covered in the past months.
Focus on the different aspects of Diablo II, and the info that has been made available on the website, past interviews and Bashiok's reports.
I won't be able to ask all the questions, but before I leave I can try to get a concensus from all fans on which are the best 10-15 questions. These will be asked in private before BlizzCon.
I will have access to internet on the press room, and will probably gather more questions during the panels to ask developers live on the panel Q&As.
So that you know, Umaro, Mockery, Thasador, Silversurfnstud and me are heading to Blizzcon. We will bring as much coverage as possible with video cameras and digital cameras. I will also grab one of the press media kits to show you. Each of us will be updating from BlizzCon either on the news section or at the Diablo 3 section. So keep your eyes open through October 10-11th.
This might or not be my last work here. Time will tell. For now, I will do my best to represent the community along with Diablofans staff.
Start thinking good Diablo 3 questions that may benefit the community as a whole.

2) Diablo PVPing has always been an aspect of what truly made diablo what it is; uniquely bold and not watered down as most games of today are. How will you expand upon diablo2's pvp system without losing alot of the charm found in d2 pvp?
3) Some Fans seem concerned in regards to PK'ers joining public games and killing them when they're very low level. Instead of catering to only these concerned players and having 'mutual hosting in pvp', instead will a 'level hosting restriction' be implemented? Where players can host anyone same level or higher than them, however, can only host someone within 5-10 lvls below them without having to have a mutal agreement?
haha I didnt really word the last question very well but i think its pretty important.
this has been stated in diablo 3 interviews in that battle.net features are for the sc2 team to hype and release, not d3 team
and since sc2 release date should be announced at blizzcon, I bet they will already be releasing the 2.0 features
and then they announce all the diablo 3 classes
and then they announce world of starcraft!!!!!!
plzz have a splash screen when we wake up tomorrow blizzard... plzzz
[Specifics] I know I might get flamed for this...but the 3-phase Kael'Thas encounters from The Burning Crusade are a great example of a challenging boss fight that develops in flavour as you move into each phase. It would be awesome to see the environment used against us in such fights as well. Other worthy reference points could be the 'Sisters of Fate' fight in the God of War series.
[Question Again] Can we expect to see some of this multi-layered encounter approach to bosses in Diablo as opposed to the 'hey I'm big and I'm going to keep hitting you in 10 different animations till you kill me' approach?
-MajorMoose humbly requests.
Take a closer look at the gameplay video. At one point (Can't remember where) there is some demon that some dudes summon that sucks all their blood/etc up to make itself. After it got hit a bit, it increased in speed and some weird flaming rune appeared all over its body. I'd say they've already started doing this =)
Oooh ooh ooh, even cooler, once they go back to act one, might they find a bunch of new quests that weren't even available yet due to things happening in the story in act 2/3 causing quests/etc to appear in act one that weren't there originally ...
Wow, bad at explaining my point there.
Ahh Indeedy the Thousand Pounder unique was an awesome touch from the gameplay trailer for sure. The flaming rune was a nice touch and is indeed a hint of what I was expecting
I would however like to see that get expressed in more extensive ways like the Kael'Thas/Sisters of Fate encounters- like actually have the scenario/setting/environment change along with the boss abilities so that you're forced to learn a new tactic or use a different strategy. Diablo III needs to be easy to use- but I would definitely not like to see it become a pushover like D2 felt at times.
Again I don't want to sound like a prude- but it would definitely be comforting to hear that this aspect is being given due focus- directly from the horse's mouth
Or even more interesting:
going back to find that as a result of failing "quest x" ... a town is burned down, people slaughtered, and overrun with demons, etc! This would definitely add to the creepy/fearful feeling we'll hopefully all get from the game.
top notch questions .. i really cant see why they cant wear the exact same things as normal chars .. like rings, amulets carry charms etc and have an inventory the same size .. fair enough if you have to pay them gold per day for carrying it etc but they should implement this
- Will there be a demo released before the retail game? When?
- Can we at least have a ballpark estimate of when Diablo III will be released?
- What will the minimum/recommended system requirements be?
- Can we have lots of trailers/movies between acts or even between quests? No one can produce as excellent and gripping movies as Blizzard!
- Will bodies/corpses be removed from the physics engine to stay longer on the battlefield to create that "carnage" feeling
- Will the game and especially boss-fights be tense? With D1 and D2, even the second time around you still shit your pants when coming to some of the bosses. With this new globe effect I get the feeling that you will develop the feeling that you will defeat the boss, he won't kill you, it just takes long. And if you die, whoops, no big deal, respawn at the previous checkpoint with no penalty.
Opinions:
- I liked the fact that in D1 and D2 you were swearing as you tried to hit buttons 1 to 4 to get health. Then you died and was determined even more to go beat that boss!
- I think there should be some sort of punishment when you die. Loss of gold perhaps or that you have to walk a long way. I didn't like the fact that you could lose your items. If dying isn't punishing, it will become trivial and people won't get gripped in the game. You're fighing the devil after all, you should be scared as hell!
Just my 2c
feel free to answer any of the questions here that blizzard has already been talking about .. not all of us have enough hours a day to spend reading every ounce of info released ..and it may even help out the mod of this thread incase he missed reading the blizzard release of that info .. which in turn will save him from looking silly asking that question on the day
it will also stop a second person asking the same question hopefully (if they read everything in this thread).
An old chinese proverb says:
''He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not remains a fool forever.''
I answered your questions as best as I could based on what we already know... in question 3 and 6 I wasn't sure what you were talking about.
Will there be organized clans / guilds?
Will there be a PvP ranking system other than just a ladder based on level?
Will there be arena style PvP?
Will there be team PvP?
For example... say we want to try a new barbarian character, but don't want to wade through the first Act, will we be able to set up an advanced start (presumably we would just have character and skill points to distribute and gold to furnish ourselves via the town).
Can Kratos be a playable class? :D:D:D
In any part of the game, will the 3 brothers reunite? I really wanna fight meph, diablo, baal at the same time... just for a big finish.
Theres 5 classes if im not mistaken, so there will be 5 different Follower / Merc's classes?
