I dont really get the feeling of that Blizzard has put THAT much amount of energy and work into StarCraft 2 as I feel they would have if it was the only news they were releasing in a short period of time...
Short period being... maybe well see D3 @ BlizzCon, or maybe next year.
And another thing.. why didn't they announce it @ BlizzCon? So that the world would see that their own show thingie is worth coming to. (Not that they won't come anyway...)

Also regarding some of the theories about war on sanctuary, Jay Wilson made some interesting comments about ... the tone of the game really, but might reveal some plot spoilers as well...
"And, we've made a conscious effort to make sure that the tone gets worse- one of the things that we really want to tell a story of, basically, the coming apocalypse, and it works best if there's a contrast, you know, if things get worse in act two and act three, and act four, and visually, as well as just story-wise then it makes a big difference in kind of, how the tone feels, it feels like you get the nice contrast, or contrast between an idyllic world even though I wouldn't call any Diablo world that we've created, idyllic. But, for Diablo, it's probably idyllic, and then you know, at the end, just hell let loose."

Maybe Imperius will join forces with Hell, and we have to fight against their destrucion of Sanctuary. With a bit help from Tyrael again I hope

Sanctuary is open for Demons to find (or Angels of course), but we get to play a generation of Nephalem that is beginning to grow in power!!

This is what I don't get. Critizism from consumers/costumers should be considered healthy not _whining_. What a stupid Idea is it not to shut up and get what is served? Better to tell the cook how you like your beef cooked in advance than afterwards!!
Sure some postings are a bit foolish and whiny, but alot of them are very good and informative!

I am convinced that this will be the "Diablo 3" I am waiting for.
It doesn't matter if it's a continuation of the story, or just something else based on Sanctuary or even roughly based on it. I want it!
I want a Diablo MMO, more than I want a Diablo 3 with similar graphics. But I want similar system, with easy skill trees and stat points and such.
But I can't afford to think to much about it, I would just excite myself to death, there will be a long time before we can lay our hands on anything like it Im afraid :/

And why drag it so far as being halo's or horns? I don't see why it easily could be no more than facial expression and shadowing of the character.
And something I wonder is why you are saying that Baal was disguised as the archangel Tyrael... ? Do you conclude this from seeing the video? Or is it written somewhere in the official lore?
Btw OT, here in Norway we've got Ice, snow and midnight sun =) We haven't got hot springs though, but thats not far from here either, neighbour country Iceland has got that =) New Zealand is somewhere I want to visit some day! Definately!

But you have actually managed to convince me that the stay-human part of Diablo is a good thing to hold on to, because as you mention, so many other games have the inhuman chars. But I don't think the gradually appearance shifting have to be limited to Fable, though I've actually never played Fable more then 10 minutes.

The Diablo games has proven themselves, to me, the best games ever made. And when I think about it, maybe it's true what you say. I don't know. It was only an idea that strafed my mind =)
But maybe something in the middle, more like what you are describing. And maybe a degree of transition would be nice also. I don't know. Like being taken under the "wing of heaven".
Some of the character classess and skill sets in Diablo D2 and LoD will be possible to view as if they were grades of heavenly\demonic skills... so maybe what I mean is not to literally grow wings but more in a metaforic sense "be more angelic\demonized". Hmm but then again, wings would definately be nice

I would like to see an epic battle between heaven and hell. Possible with human as a choice of character. And some way to maybe evolve ones human into either Angel or Demon, to gain an extra level of power. Lets say some kind of experiencing, getting powerful, and then on a later stage, be powerful enough to get to choose path. And then gain even more power.
I only dream of evolving my char into a Tyrael type of being. At least visual, and with outrageos pools of power =)
