    You have pretty good gear, any upgrade will not be cheap but you've got 100M. You are fine in dex, but more can added to CC, CD and AS.

    Why the resist on your chest is fire but not cold? Change it for a rare or a Blackburn.

    More CC on ring if you don't have to wear Hellfire.

    More dex on glove 200+ if you can pick up something from AH.

    Lacking average damage and/or LOH on amulet.

    Other more expensive options:

    Witch hour belt and 1300+ Skorn which will up your DPS by 20%.

    Your DPS is only good to farm MP0. I'd like to see 40kDPS for MP1 and +10k DPS for each MP level up.

    Weapons for monk are not complicate.

    We need dps, CD, dex, LS and socket on weapons. The end-game weapons like 1000+ dps, 80%+ CD, 150+ dex, 2.5%+ LS and socket are exorbitant in price. Within your budget, get the best weapon with a combination in dps, CD, dex, LS and socket. To make thing simple, I'll consider LS a must on one of the two weapons if not both irrespective of your level of DPS.

    I don't have much experience in WLK, it is said that it boosts light damage in some skills and the paper damage is low which cause some psychological upset. I personally don't like it as "good" ones are not cheap. You might just buy a cheap one to test it out before making a serious investment on a better one.

    In fact, I wield an EF with 1250 DPS, 170 dex and 65 CD with +2500 life after kill on main hand. I find no problem fearing away mobs as I seldom chase after them. There might be a problem playing in group in high MP levels. EF does give you a high DPS, but if you don't like the fear, get a rare with high DPS, CD, dex, LS and socket, and they are equally good.

    Personal opinions, hope these help.

    If you aim for an end-game setting, get the must have pieces first and average plus for the rest relatively cheap, which are to be upgraded later at occasion. As for weapon, get the best within your budget for a combination of dps, cd, dex, LS and socket. LOH can be from your jewel. 100M can get you close to 100k DPS with decent life sustain elements, LS, LOH, pickup, Life regen, life after kill, etc. Thereafter, upgrade is much more expensive and should be done with care unless you don't care too much about gold.

    Your gear are not bad.

    But we do need gold to upgrade, even though we can farm we still have to sell items at AH to buy what we want most.

    You need higher dex and CC to achieve 70+ DPS, whcih is indeed not hard to get to from what you are now.

    You might start by getting an INNA belt as suggested above, which can add 130 dex as a 2-piece bonus.

    Upgrade your OH is a correct move.

    I value OH as much as MH as I don't want to micro-manage my active weapon to set up SW.

    Your gem is too low, it should be at least 70%+ green gem.

    I forget to say something about your weapons.

    The weapon DPS of OH matters for monks, 500+ is just too low.

    To achieve a 90k+ DPS, you need at least 900+ MH and 850+ OH, though the higher the easier to achieve hihg DPS.

    No free lunch man.

    With 1.5M, you can only upgrade the gems to gain some DPS.

    With 10M, you can get INNA helm and pants, which can push your DPS by about 10k.

    To acquire 90+k DPS, you need 40CC, 300+ CD, and 2000+ dex with high DPS weapons, which can be done with 100M or 50M if you have the time, the skill and luck to bid on AH.

    This is a great weapon with LOH and LS, provided that you have enough CD elsewher, on OH and jewels.

    Never enough, but along with LOH allow you to go through MP4/5 at 80k+ DPS.

    Here is a senario for some possible end-game setup for monk with set or legendary.

    Helm = Inna Radiance
    Legs = Inna Temperance
    Shoulder = Vile Ward
    Brace = Lacuni
    Boots = Mountain Climber
    Belt = Witch Hour
    MH = Echo Fury, Shelong, AZQ, etc.

    EF offers the higher DPS but needs to control the feared mobs.

    We can take rare for jewel, OH, glove and chest, as set or legendary might not be better for those slots.

    Yes, eventually you have to get WH belt, but if I were you, I'd get VW or MC first for shoulder and boots first.

    Tune up your resist, and you'll have no problem to survive.

    Get higher damage weapons and/or more CD, the loss in LOH can be covered by the amulet.

    Easily with MP3, possibly in MP5.

    You may need 60k DPS for MP3 and 80k DPS for MP5.

    Take a look at the 60k DPS guide, the gearing strategies remain the same but the gear prices get substantially reduced for 1.0.5.

    It is easy to build a monk of 60k DPS with 40M, and doable for a monk of 80k+ DPS with 100M.

    BTW, are you on American server?

    I strongly recommend you to get INNA leg+helm combo, as this is one of the best end game setup at very reasonable price now.

    Get a decent weapon to farm MP2/3 to earn more gold. I get two set of keys at MP2/3 in 2 nights, so it isn't bad at all.

    As for the upgrade of the other pieces, there are two options:

    1) Evenly distribute your budget to all pieces in the upgrade, but you risk for a further upgrade as you move up MP levels.

    2) Upgrade the most critical piece, one at a time, this would allow you to get a better item which will last longer or an end game item.

    Hope these help.

    I used to play on America Server, but I just started another account on the Asia server so that I could always play during server down time. With 500k on Asian AH, you guess what I can do?

    40kdps, 40k HP, 650 AR and 7k armour with 40%cc, 1.8AS shield+sword monk +LOH and pickup radius as well.

    No problem farming MP1 and MP2.

    posted a message on Trouble getting to ACT 3
    9M is fine for act2. But if you'd like to keep some items for act3, you have to plan for it.

    Read the 50k and 60k dps guides, which give you some idea about the price of the items.

    Weapons are the most expensive, and are the slot most worthwhile to invest in.

    My advice is to spend 6M on weapons, which could still be useful in act 3, and 3M for the other items.

    If your budget just allows you to get one decent weapon, try to get a shield for the time being until you have money for the second weapon.

    posted a message on Qustions about LS, dual-wielding, SoJ and need advice.
    The four questions are indeed the same in nature for different situations, either unavailable or unnecessary, simply optimization with what you have. I hope Blizzard would not boost further the legendary items to ruin the game as they did for D2, rares with equal capabilities add depth and variety to the game.

    As for question 5, I am looking forward to 1.0.5. The ML system allows well-geared to take the challenge at higher ML, while medium-geared players can farm almost equally efficiently at lower ML with 5NV and some paragon levels. With better gear from the loot, we can start the infernal machine to look for the hellfire ring.
