You'll also notice that none of those high DPS monks are anywhere near the top Paragon rankings. Dual wielding is clearly the way to go if you aren't blinded by large numbers.

Or maybe they just aren't chasing the Paragon carrot and enjoy a different play style. Everyone is so quick to jump on the critical bandwagon when someone runs something not so mainstream. I for example prefer playing a 2H barb, with a couple different specs (depending on if I'm solo or grouped). Sure I've done blender barb stuff, but to me the 2H play style is just more fun. I'll hit 100 when I hit 100. I run 300+ MF with stacks anyway and still have 60k sheet DPS (Paragon 22). Hopefully much more if I land my Skorn I am looking at today.

How is crit chance working with rend? don't have time to read the whole post now but was just wondering if the rend ticks can crit.

I got 56% crit on my gear, it would be quite a waste if crit doesn't benefit rend.

From what I have read, Rend ticks do not crit, but the initial hit can crit which is what sets the damage for ticks. Please correct me if I am wrong anyone who has done some testing. I have been watching the AH and waiting for a good 2H to drop to try out a Rend spec, so I don't have any testing to back this up. I'm 99% sure thats how it works though, so not a total waste!

EDIT: Oops it got answered, thats what I get for not refreshing this post for a while.

I've only had one, a Stormshield on the first night with fairly low stats. I was able to make a decent amount on the RMAH for it though, the first big item I have sold on there. So for me I have enjoyed 1.04 quite a bit! My point being even not so great legendaries still sell well and eventually that good one will hit.

Sadly though like others have said RNG is RNG. Till then keep that chin up something good is bound to drop soon!

I was about to start a topic on this until I saw this one. I think that easily you could rock 5 piece without the weapon and not give up much in terms of stats. I really love what they have done with this set, and maybe I'm a little biased but now that it's out, it is for sure something that I know I want to work towards.

In terms of the 2H, I haven't personally done any play with a 2H WW barb. I would have liked to have seen it have the chance to roll 2 sockets, like the Manticore. Having one guarnteed socket with the chance to roll a second on top of everthing else. That would have made it truely worthy of an item to use. Maybe a bit to strong, but would be a heck of a lot of fun.

Diablo 3 isn't an online game? Really, it was announced as that long before release. In the future it might do you some good to do a little research before purchasing a game. As such, an online game requires everyone has to play by the same rules and standards as the next guy. Patching isn't an option, tough luck. Also hate to break it to you... games aren't toasters. They are a bit more complex and tend to need some tune ups from time to time.

In terms of the RMAH you aren't forced to use it. You can sit in your single player games and ignore the world all you want. People don't force you to do anything other then that. I know plenty of very casual people who have made a good chunk of change because of a little luck. To most people its just an added bonus to be able to profit off of enjoying thier hobby. You must be a busy fella though to have your finger on the pulse of every person interested in this game, so what do I know.

Finally... get over yourself. You are welcome to complain and I wouldn't take that away from you. However the over the top way you choose to do it hurts your case more then it helps it. Also when did the 2,784 reviews (that includes the good and the bad) on Amazon equate to millions? Might want to do some number checking there.

I'm sorry but have none of you ever played an online game before? When updates are offered, new content added there are usually patches that have to go out the first week. The level of entitlement from this community really surprises me, most of the time probably more then it should. Its 5AM est, 2AM pst, the majority of the community isn't playing right now, making this an ideal time to patch and update.

And all of this bashing and ranting about unethical in game money transactions. Blizzard has put in a system that allows you to get paid for pixel items. You are getting MONEY to play a video game. It might not be often, and it might not be a lot... but you are getting real money... for playing a game. Lets all think about this. Blizzard takes a cut (maybe a little to large) but again... you are getting paid... for gaming.

Unbelievable. Also please before you flame me with it has driven game design, and that the game was ruined because of it blah blah blah. I've heard it all. If you don't like it, then play something else. You don't pay monthly fees, just move on and find something that you do enjoy.

The only reason wealth in WoW does not = in game power directly is because of the BoP system.

You can't buy the items that make you a better raider - gear wise for the most part. You have to kill the mobs youself to get the loot.

Not anymore, but back in Vanilla and BC, crafted items often were used through end game. So yes things you raided with were bought, either on the AH directly or through mats. This game isn't WoW though, and I really dislike them constantly being compared. The loot system is different, the end game is different, the AH/economy is different.

They shouldn't be the same, and as others have pointed out earier in this thread that is what a lot of people use as a baseline in creating more restrictions within this AH system. Like I said before as well, there are no mods in D3, and unless people are botting (aka cheating) then working this system actually takes a fair amount of work and time to do well at. I don't see a point in punishing people for that.

    Quote from Solmyr77

Well, my problem with item flipping is, that it is a much shorter road to victory. Shorter as in New York - Boston directly than, say, via Munich. This takes away my incentive to go out and kill monsters, because I like to be effective -and launching a real game of Diablo isn't. If I want to improve in my monster killing, I have to go out of the way and work the ah, but what for? So I "waste" less time actually playing instead of being in the ah?

Diablo is a nice game all in all, but progressing faster by playing less is a horrible design flaw.

Yes and no. You have to remember that in D2 there was no AH. So instead of looking on the AH for an upgrade, you had to sift through the Trade channel. This meant dealing with a lot of obnoxious people and countless scammers. I'll still take this system over that old system any day. Odds are you are going to be able to get a lot better gear through this system for much cheaper, then the previous trade chat/forums system. Even if it means I'm paying a little more because I missed an item before someone else and they flipped it for double what I could have gotten it for. Most the time you never know if its a first time listing or a relisted item anyway.

Because when the "Landgrab" happend when the game started it was all gobbled up by bots and exploiters, if you didnt get in then, your ceiling of success is possibly limited. Im not a socialist and im pro-capitalisim, but not unmitigated or unregulated in nature. Im also OK with AH flipping, but theres something to be said of the model of you activly searching and killing mobs via effort and labor for a gold reward or an item to AH, versus using your pile of exploited capital to flip and flip and flip via bots with no real labor or time invested, or at least from a human perspective.

This is playing under the assumption that all of these "AH Barons" were botting and exploiting. The AH game isn't my thing, but I know a couple of people that love doing this. They are good at it, and they make good RM/Gold every week. Not my bag, but kudos for them in taking the time and doing it. It's not like there are mods like Auctioneer and such from WoW helping them figure out the economy. You have to put in a little bit of effort if you aren't exploiting to do well at it.

I honestly don't feel like it matters. Putting restrictions on the AH more would drive me nuts, and I'm a casual AH user. I feel very limited with 10 auctions, and I do my research etc before posting. Nothing worse then seeing 10 things just sit for a day and a half.

It's an aspect of the game some people really enjoy, if they do well at it and that is where they want to spend their time then who cares? If they buy out your items and flip them for double or triple what you listed, the only fault for not getting max value is your own. Guess I just never really have seen the point in fussing over things like this, it doesn't really affect you.

posted a message on D3 or WoW
For me I'll be sticking with D3, and may pickup FF XIV for PS3 to play with a buddy when 2.0 is released. The only MMO I've ever played is WoW (Mac owner here) so my options are fairly limited, which I'm okay with keeps me focused on the important stuff. WoW has run its course with me though, I've done bleeding edge, I've done casual. I'm honestly ready to be done with it.

I think my breaking point was when watching beta patch notes, and the fact that there are macro commands for the pet battles. I don't know why it bugged me, but that just felt like way to much time being spent on in game Pokemon, when they have been having so many issues with just producing good content, balancing PVP over the past two expansions.

I'm sure that will come off as strange to many as my breaking point, but eh. Also I like owning my time, and the raid schedules don't really allow that. D3 I can plop down, do a speed run or two and then call it if I want.

    Quote from Nastai

I was kicked from my game with the same message while farming on my invuln wiz. Some of my loot got rolled back too, oh well. I assume it was for the hotfix to take.

On another note; exploiting that bug was the most fun I have had in Diablo 3, and I'm sad to see it go. For those of you who are curious, I didn't get any decent loot so ultimately I received no advantage over you. But in a game that has become such a bore, it did a good job of providing me some excitement.

It's good you had fun, but at the same time you're telling me that wouldn't have gotten boring after a good day or two of it? What is fun about being able to just stand there, spam blizzard or whatever your spell of choice is and then move on to the next pack. In the end it's far more tedious and boring then having to actually put forth just a little effort in game.

Also, just because you got no good loot doesn't mean you had no advantage... you couldn't die! You could blow through packs without any fear of what that type of reckless play style often gets people. In Hardcore it is the ultimate advantage as it cancels out the main mechanic of what hardcore is. Whatever you need to say to rationalize it I guess, but I just don't understand that view point. In the end an exploit is an exploit.

On topic for the original poster, it sucks you lost your good drops, but I would assume like others said that this error was a result of the hotfix and rollback. Sucks, but was needed!
