Damage element doesn't matter anymore (besides apparently cold, which chills).

Oh, and on topic: Switch to the new one. Either roll 10% dmg on it or possibly LoH.

Will check the vid as soon as I get to somewhere I can hear the sound as well. Few comments without watching based on discussion with other monks/former monks in our clan:
As jokingly stated by a former monk, now WD: "Monks are the best balaced class in the game, and thats why I'm not playing it anymore." That comes from the fact that unlike pretty much all the other classes, monks don't have any really "broken" mechanics/synergies or items that most of the other classes have (don't know about DH, but barbs with Lut Socks and 4 set Earth, WD and the pets/dots that destroy anything on T6 in seconds, wiz with Mirrorball and rolling dots from fire runed magic missile and crusader with their perma form and sick aoe burst damage). I'm planning to test fire build with the Guyana (or smth) and see if that might compete, but so far we feel lacking the damage or survivability to realistically farm T6 solo (what at least couple WDs and Crusader in our clan do).
On the other hand, besides maybe a crusader, we bring a lot to the table when it comes to group play. Running with 200k damage gear that is chosen based solely on their CDR rolls I speed up the T6 clears quite a bit grabbing the mobs to Inner Sanctuary:FP (which is up back to back unless we need to move)and palming them for nice big explosions. And thanks to Strongarms and mantra, there is quite a bit of damage taken debuff on mobs.
It feels a bit that we may have bit too much of utility, and that is keeping Blizz from buffing us for solo play. A little nerf on our group buffs (which we have abundance of) would be a fair tradeoff for solo buffs, if they would put us on par with WDs and Crusaders (maybe barbs as well). What I would personally love to see would be allowing the Way of the Hundred Fists : Fists of Fury dot to refresh and add to the exsisting one ("to roll" like the wiz dot from fire runed magic missile does) to allow us to solo kill insanely high hp mobs in a bit more realistic time frame. Of course I'd love to see our damage or survivability to get buffed without nerfs, but even with nerfs to group utility, I'd welcome them.
In their current form monks can be good aoe dps, or have very good survivability, and bring plethora of group buffs, but it is VERY hard to be all three (or even the first two together) at the same time. Good single target damage is pretty much unheard of (again, compared to "broken" classes). Compared to other classes we have the hardest time gearing up for highest torments due to OWE. Basically we need to get 5 right rolls (and preferably high ones as well) on most of items to really be able to roll comfortably in T6 as a damage dealer, and even then we are at the very low end of the damage dealers there.
    EDIT: Typos

AFAIK Cyclone Strike is indeed a knockback mechanic even that it does the knocking in wrong direction.

I went up to 980 resists before starting slowly backtracking on it. Now I'm down to 650, and with 57k damage it's still enough. You'll need to find the balance yourself by "how it feels". With enough LoH and high enough attack speed you can get away with less defensive stats, but if you can't get your hp rising fast enough, you'll need to either reduce the incoming damage (killing the mobs faster, adding armor/resistance) or increase the speed you gain life.

Biggest problem you have already indentified: your hp is way too low. 30k+ is minimum I'd even consider trying to get away with, but closer to 40k that you get, the more leeway you have for reacting to bad stuff.

As a fast fix you could upgrade the gem in your helm, and change the dex gems into Amethysts. Upgrade the gems in any case. :)

I'd personally start with the bracers, then the helm and pants (assuming that the shoulders are still the old ones, and have already been upgraded into something better).
