posted a message on Is it possible to "appear offline" while doing single player?
I love my friends and what not, but sometimes when I just want to run single player by myself getting swarmed with private messages from 12+ people is irritating. Especially when they take it personal that I don't want to quit what I am doing (Neph. Valor buff) to come help them with something. To casuals this translates into "Diablo is more important to you than I am, and you don't like playing it with me."

I tried removing some of my friends from my friends list, but they still show up as recent players and threw an absolute fit. If there isn't a way to appear offline, I really hope that Blizzard considers adding this feature in the future.

How did the first people get the Inferno gear to put on the AH?

I know a lot, and I mean a LOT of people who got all of their high-end items from exploits. Using the glitch to jump foward and farm Inferno Aspect of Terror, and abusing the Tyrael mechanic to kill Izual. Loading up on Magic Find and corpse walking to Resplendent Chests / Unicorn Clouds etc.

There is something wrong with the game when a dude who doesn't even have an Inferno Butcher kill is farming Act 4 for blues that are better than most Act 3 rare weapons. I literally watched a guy I play with do this.

Even before the "World First" Belial kill the auction house was already flooded with Act 4 blues, and occasional rares.

EDIT: And if you really need to ask how, recall that Athene was halfway through Act 3 of Inferno mode before Blizzard decided that allowing Monks to be completely invulnerable to all damage was a bad idea. It was several more days before they nerfed wizards, demon hunters, and boon of protection.

No, it's not required to progress. Only required by *you* if you can't wait for the item.

How long are we suppose to wait, bro? I've got over 100 hours of farm time in Inferno mode and I still haven't looted a single item that I would personally equip, let alone that would sell for more than 25K in the Auction House. That is basically 100 hours of solid farm time for no good item.

Sure with millions of people sharing the same auction house, and mathematical probability, you can and will find affordable upgrades in the Auction House, but around Act 3 most melees are going to hit a brick wall when most "upgrades" cost 5 million gold, and farming Act 1 or 2 for hours on end only provides 300-500K gold. RMAH should become very successful due to this, and I can't imagine why Blizzard would want to fix melees, or loot system before the RMAH is released.

i've half of your res, half of your dps, 5k less life and can stack 5 buffs with no deaths or very few.
Secret? Atk speed and life on hit. And you miss both.

I'm not saying I don't get by, I'm just saying that the game is not balanced when I spent 100 hours farming my gear, and a brand new Demon Hunter or Wizard who is still wearing low level rares can still kill more efficiently than I can. I don't care what your life on hit is, or your attack speed is, when you get a "fast mob with fire chains, and jailer," you are going to die instantly with 700 resistances and 25k HP. At least in Act 3. I'm not sure if you're referring to Act 1 or what? I dual wield, and go pure DPS in Act 1 while standing in fire because my Mantra of Healing out heals what little damage I take from plague, molten etc.
