posted a message on Gearing up an alt character quickly
So, I'm pretty happy with my DH now, and I'm looking to move over to Wizard. Obviously none of my gear except Leg. gems translates. I have access to a second account with a 70 wizard, though, but no gear. I can fairly easily handle T5 with 2p and T6 with minor difficulties(~11-17 minutes).

I had planned to simply do bounty runs for rift keystones, open bags on my wiz, afk the alt account Wizard at the entrance, porting to me between levels and watching the map, and trading over legendaries and sets that I find.

So, as for the reason behind me creating the thread; Is there a range at which legendaries/sets won't drop? I've noticed rares won't drop more than 4 or so screens away, I'm unsure if there's a range limit for green/oranges too.

And should I be running T6 or T5? T6 is double the time it takes me to do T4. T5 takes me ~8-12 minutes usually, T6 11-17. These are with 2 players.

    posted a message on Pre-marauders
So, I've been trying to get a full set of mrauders on my fresh season DH, and I've hit a brick wall. I got 3 pieces by paragon 20, 4th at paragon 60, and now I'm paragon 150, and convinced it's just not going to happen. 7000 Blood shards spent on legs & boots with no luck. I;ve also been running with 4 DHs on everything who were willing to give up legs/boots for me. Needless to say, I'm still sitting on 4 pieces + a rorg.

So the question is: What's a good build pre-marauders? I have access to all of the quivers, all of the bows and every set except Marauders. I have all flavors of SOJ and all around pretty good gear - just not sure what's strong. I've been trying to test things out, but overall I haven't found anything that stands above the rest. Is there a strong non-sentry build on DH?

I guess I was looking at more in the rank 25 terms where it gives 2% max hp on hit, seems like it would be super OP with Addling Toads or Poison Dart splinters, assuming each toad of dart procs it?
Do you feel 12,000 Life per hit at 600,000 life is overly powerful? 600,000*.02 = 12000
Would you give up 8% attack speed, 50%/100% chd, 6%/10% crit chance, 500/750 int, +20% elemental damage or one of the other 13 Legendary gems for 12000 LPH?

It's a nice boon to the specs that can use it, but overall I don't think it's quite worth giving up the other legendary gems.
If you wanted to use it, the Grin Reaper build with Ren'ho's Addling toads is almost definitely the way to go.

posted a message on GRift boss epic drop rate?
I found T4 Rifts give, on average, more legendaries than the GRift guardians do. I can usually complete my Rift in under 11 minutes, so waiting for the timer to drop under 4 minutes usually wastes more time than it's worth. Now, that being said, If you can't handle torment 4, like I couldn't when this patch hit, I think it's totally worth it. In seasons, when I hit 70, I plan to simply do Grift 1->2->3->4->5 etc. while gearing up. :D

Grin Reaper could see some use out of it, since so much of their damage comes form Queen Corpse Spider and Ren'Ho Flayer Addled Frogs. Queen is 2625% right outa the box - With this gem at level 1 she's a massive 3281%(218% per second). From what I've seen of this build, you can have up to 5 or 6 of these things out at a time.

For fresh-70 builds, or leveling builds, I can see Corpse Spider seeing A LOT of play, especially if you're not wanting to play with sycophants. Carnevil builds might have some use with it, but it depends just how it works. I'm honestly not sure, so I can't say.I wouldn't be surprised to see a Corpse Spider build come around, with Blazing Spiders being one of the highest damage spells around at 700%, and being completely free. Lack of AoE could hurt it, but I digress.

As far as end-game builds? I doubt it. None of our primaries are used for their damage. Rain of Toads in Sycophant builds is used primarily to get minions out with high proc rates and quick attacks. Addled Toads is used for CC along with high proc coefficient. Carnevil uses Poison Darts, but I'm pretty sure the pets poison darts aren't increased. They might be - and if I'm wrong, this would be a great place for it.

Wonder why people care, it's not like solo leaderboards have all the classes mixed up. It's solo DH / WD etc. I'm only competing with other DHs so why would i care that a WD is stronger?

I'm ignoring party leaderboards on purpose btw because IMO they shouldn't even exist in a game like diablo.
Ignoring the leaderbaord fact for a second, right now if you want to get your gem to level 45, you basically are forced into playing DH, or to get carried by 3 DHs in 4p. It can be frustrating for those who want to compete, but are always going to be behind.

posted a message on Leg Gems Upgrade order?
So, 2.1 has hit, and everyones playing around with the new GRifts and Legendary gems. I was wondering what order are you leveling or are you going to level your Legendary gems in? Also, are you leveling your gems all the way to 25, or leveling them evenly?

Personally, I'm leveling Bane of the trapped, Bane of the powerful and Enforcer, in that order. Trapped to 25, Powerful to 25, and then enforcer until I succeed in finally taking down a 30+ Grift, where I'll continue to up Trapped & Powerful.

posted a message on New season - early builds?
So, I leveled my DH quite a while ago, now. It's not the best geared, but it's got the core items for my build and everything. I eventually plan to move back into my 5P Marauder + RORG( or 6P Marauder + restraint/focus with Kridershot ) but obviously I won't have access to that at the start of the season.

What kind of builds are you guys looking into for fresh 70 Demon hunter?

I'd roll the flat damage. Isn't that like 200-300 under cap? 10% only brings you up 100, and CDR isn't completely wasted, either.

posted a message on Any reason to choose the Upgrade gem option prior to failing a rift?
    Get level 1 gem

Rush to level 12, +3 your gem.

Rush to level 15, +3 gem

18 +3, 21 +3, 24 +3... and now you simply get as high as you can for your 100% chance to upgrade, or keep going to 24 for your 90%, 80%, 70%...etc. 'til your gem #1 is at 25. Then repeat on Gem #2, Gem #3.

NOW work on leaderboards. This is what I plan to do, when season hits.

Why would you go all the way to 25-30 to upgrade your level 1 gem? I'm not finding GRifts as valuable, item-wise, as simply running regular Rifts.

posted a message on Quick Pet questions
Can Sycophants activate from Corpse Spiders?

Do the Fetish Army runes effect the Fetish Army's damage? Or only the rune effect? IE: Fetish Ambush, Would + Cold damage effect their Auto attack damage, or is it physical?

Are Corpse Spiders considered pets for Mask of Jheram? (+95% pet damage)

Lastly, Obviously we want to run Enforcer, but what are the other two legendary gems that people are prefering?

posted a message on Pet Build for fully geared SMK WD
I'm not actually a fan of the kukri anymore. Though I definitely wouldn't get rid of it - since 2.1 is bringing back Fetish army to not be a waste of a slot. http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/boxsalesman-2767/hero/14558394 This is the WD I'm copying for my build. He can clear T6 with complete ease.

Your bracers are nothing special - and just using the 3pc isn't going to be a loss. You'll have a gain in damage if you're using a different ring. There's at least 3 or 4 rings better than RoRG, assuming you take out the set bonuses. Tall Man's + SoJ is my goal, atm. I have a RoRG for when 2.1 hits, and I go back to Zuni, though.

Sychophants are just downright amazing. Through and through one of the best passives for damage in the game. They cap at 15 - which is more than double of your FA, and they are easy to keep up full time. This would strike your issue of between fight CDs. Addled Toad(with Rhen'ho) or Rain of toads(without rhen'ho) are very powerful ways to keep it up. With Rhen'Ho, Addled toads is a LOT of CC, as well, making T6 and later Greater Rifts much safer for you and your army. Both now and 2.1, Rhen'Ho is going to be the go-to weapon for pet doctors.

I really don't like hexing pants on non-movement skills. There's a dozen leg/feet 2pc sets you can use, like Cains, or one of the WD sets, that all offer a substantial amount of int(500) or attack speed(+8%) which both directly increase your pets damage.

Haringtons for Rifts, Witching hour for Greater Rifts.

Just a little tidbit, you should replace "Expected" with "Average"; there's a rather large distinction to be made here when dealing with probabilities. Expectation is usually within 90-95% odds of receiving it. Average, however, is much, much lower, usually between 60-80%. IE: If you flip a coin 10 times, you will on average find 5 heads and 5 tails(insert argument for weighted sides, not truly random, etc. whatever about that) but the actual odds of this happening to you aren't even close to 100%. 10C5 = 252 / 1024 = .246 or roughly 25%. Even though over infinity you will, on average, get 5 heads 5 tails(in a truly random test), in individual tests you won't generally see 5 heads and 5 tails.

Average is accurate, expected is not.

Expected is exactly the right term, specifically when talking about probabilities. This was also discussed on the previous page. And this might be helpful as well.

Interesting, It's a term that(at least in this instance) is entirely synonymous with Average, but leads credence to confusion among people who don't immediately know what the word means. I stand by saying that in this instance Average would be less confused by some, and I don't understand why you'd use a fairly technical phrase in a report to laymen, but I suppose I was mistaken.
