No they dont need to be significantly better they need to be on par. The DPS is fine to be the same as 1h as 2h have really high alpha damage which makes them really good for CD abilities. But 2h need more stats it will make the items more interesting and will be a viable option. 2 Sockets and 4 additional primary stats and 3 secondary something like that.

PS. It so stupid that we have to throw away any weapon without a socket -.- screw gems.
    Exactly this.

Which one do you think you would prefer:

    1.5k dps + 800 primary stat + 800 vit + 200% crit damage + 40% elemental damage

    or 1.6k dps + 400 primary stat + 400 vit + 100% crit damage + 20% elemental damage

Blizzard is nerfing 2handers to the ground... just check level 70 legendary recipes. 24x 1handers and off-handers recipes, ZERO 2handers...

I'm fine with 1handers + offhand that both roll perfectly are better then one 2hander that rolled perfectly, cause it's a lot easier to get... but it should still be in the same ballpark, and viable for specs that focus on CD skills.
You quoted a post that was responding to my post and you completely skipped everything I said? :P

There are 2Hs, and they are substantially better than the 1hs. EVEN THOSE are being criticized by some players about being too weak, but I feel t hey're either on par or pretty damn close to what 2Hs should be. 2Hs are viable in RoS. They might not be optimal, I feel they could use a ~3-5% boost for that, but they're definitely in a good place.

Also, in the post you quoted, there is a crafted legendary two-handed mighty weapon in it. Unless you're assuming a two-handed mighty weapon is one-handed, I'd say we have craftable 2Hs.

Blizzard also agrees with this, as can be seen by crafted items. *spoilers*:
    2Hhttp://us.battle.net/d3/en/artisan/blacksmith/recipe/war-of-the-dead 1H http://us.battle.net/d3/en/artisan/blacksmith/recipe/utars-roar

This suggest that it works very well on lvl70. That is enough for me.
    Am I missing something? That's a 1H axe :S

EDIT: Never mind, missed the 2H link as it wasn't showing up as a link.
Yeah, for some reason it says the two-handed mighty weapon is one-handed. Not sure why, but whatever.

1300 dps is working as intended 2h have never had significantly more dps than 1 nor should they. They have high alpha damage and slow attack speed. It has nothing to do wit's why they are bad ATM. The reason why they are bad is that they only role 4 primary stats and a socket is also a primary stat. So after it has roled say dex and % damage and elemental damage and a socket your don't get much better. No room for life on hit or crit etc.
2Handers absolutely must be significantly better than 1handers to be even considered by players. Why, you might ask? Because they have to make up for(in Monk/Barbs case): Either a shield or more commonly... 15% ias, 200-400 primary stat, an extra gem slot (+11%+ damage to elites or +100%-110% crit hit damage). They do make up for the stat, but 15% ias AND an extra gem slot is MASSIVE. In the case of Witch doctor & Wizard it has to make up 220 average damage(on a 1.6s weapon, ~350 dps) for an average offhand. I know jack about demon hunter gearing, so I won't comment on their bows vs xbow vs 1h crossbows.

15% IAS and an Extra gem slot. Up to 350-400 DPS(base), 10% crit as well as flavor. These are the two things you give up to go 2h. At the very least, 2H should be seeing 1600-1700 base DPS, and EVEN THEN they may not be optimal, due to gems. (We're seeing 1300-1400 DPS 1Hs with gem slots and 300+ primary stat on top of the end rolls. Two of these are equivalent of ~1610 DPS. Couple 100% crit hit damage, and you've got a lot to make up here.)

So Yes, 2Hs should have a significant advantage over 1Hs. Otherwise there is no reason to use a 2H except in niche builds, and even in those it may be seen as disadvantageous over simply using a 1h with a shield. I can't even fathom when a 2.0 rolled 2H can ever be even considered on a witch doctor or Wizard, due to how powerful offhands are.

Blizzard also agrees with this, as can be seen by crafted items. *spoilers*:

    Quote from HamsterFabulous

Nice trailer, but I'm really bummed by the Crusader's voice. And that's an understatement. To me he sounds like some kind of mild mannered showoff. I was hoping for some kind of intensity in his voice, speaking of religious zealotism. Kind of what I'd imagine Jaret Byar of the Children of the Light (Wheel of Time) to sound like, if you catch my drift.

Hell, even Jondar's voice, with less evil and more righteousness in it would have done fine. But this...jesus, this is awful.
I wish I didn't agree with you..but yeah, he doesn't sound anything like I expected. Poor choice of VA.

I like Keep 1-3, Act 4 stuff in general or just full runs. Keep 2 is amazing, but too short to make a full run out of, imo.

I wish act bosses were more rewarding, I'd do Keeps 1-3 and go from siegebreaker down.

posted a message on Is this Diablo anymore?
In Diablo 2, many of the devs have come out, openly, saying that Rune Words did a lot to ruin the game, and they did not want to make that mistake again. Rune words were BAD. Teleport was BAD. Most of what was in Diablo 2 were things the devs did not want, but it was too late to change it. They did a lot to fix it, but they couldn't manage to do enough.

Most players never traded with randoms. Period. They may have traded with friends or something, but most players found it too much of a pain to trade. Unless they got something really valuable or really wanted a certain item, they wouldn't even bother trading.

Diablo 2's Unique drop rate was complete shit compared to even pre-patch D3. P8 D2 runs vs MP10 D3 runs, you got 3-5x as many legendaries as uniques. I remember naming my games MFing1 and going all the way to 187 without ever seeing anything useful. I remember botting on 3 accounts for days without finding anything of value. I don't go a 4-6 hour session without finding at least a decent legendary.

Diablo 3 has problems, no game is perfect. You're going to have issues with every game you ever play. If you look hard enough you'll have issue with anything that ever happens in your life. I definitely feel Diablo 3 still has issues, that hopefully RoS will go about fixing. Barbarian feels a little underwhelming when compared to Monk, every class feels like it should have 5-7 more abilities, there's still a lot of abilities that go unused due to just being bad, Some of the resource systems just feel clunky(hi2u Witch Doctor), Demon hunter feels a bit weak, still, Farming runs seem a bit monotonous, Act boss kills, even teh first time, aren't very rewarding. I can go on, but I think you get my point.

However, these are all things that are fixed in RoS, or are relatively minor complaints. Demon Hunters' Healing Vapors makes it an AMAZING RoS class, The two new farming additions are a lot less monotonous, especially the completely randomized dungeons, Act bosses are being made more rewarding, etc. Just sit back and try to not be angry at everything. Cheers~

When I want to play with friends, either I'm stuck farming cursed chests, Mira, COTA, or some other monotonous bs. I love these things getting nerfed, I get to play with my friends again.

For some numbers. On Normal, 0% xp increase, you receive(on average) 2.125M xp.

    Torment 6(1660%) = 37.4M xp per run.

    Torment 5(1150%) = 26.5625M

    Torment 4(800%) = 19.125M

Torment 6 is roughly double the XP over 4. Torment 5 is ~40% more.

I average 700M at 200k Damage and Torment 4. Torment 6 was too hard for me at 500k toughness (vortex was the primary issue). Torment 5 still killed me occasionally.

Best of luck to everyone! :) It's good xp, and if you're geared enough to manage torment 6, it can be AMAZING damage. I also found 2 Legendaries in testing this. :)

posted a message on What is the approx max sheet dps achievable in RoS?
    Well, It's definitely a barbarian.

    Passives: 45% damage, 8% spd, 25% strength

    Overpower: +10% crit

    Bash: +12% damage

    Frenzy: +75% aspd 12.5% damage

Battle Rage: Either 100% crit chance(we're assuming perfect scenario for damage) and +10% damage or +25% damage

    Wotb: +60% damage, +10% crit +25% aspd.

So before even equipping a single piece of gear we have: 23% or 100% crit chance, respectively, 70% ASPD and 154.5% or 139.5% damage, respectively. I don't think it's possible to get enough crit to counteract 100%, so I'm going to assume 100% crit, 70% aspd, 139.5% damage. Shi Mizu's Haori forces every attack to crit, but I'm unsure if this change sheet dps. The wording makes me assume it simply forces everything to crit rather than 100% crit chance.

I unfortunately don't know where to find Affix ranges for level 70 Legendaries, however there are a few very important Legendaries to maximizing your sheet damage. Harrington Waistguard is a flat +100% increased damage(after opening a chest). If there is no better legendary body, You can gain 15% damage by wearing Shi Mizu's Haori (100% crit chance under 25% life). I'm unsure if "More" damage works in the same way it does on Path of Exile, but Strong Arm Bracers has "more" damage after knockback, 25%. I'm sure there's a lot more, but this is how far I got. :) Cheers!

At the very least, Max weapon dps* (3.64+strength modifier)*(crit damage+1)*attackspeed
    Assuming 2 4k dps 1handers, 7k strength, 500% crit damage, 100% attack speed...
    2,945,600

Rough numbers, making assumptions so take it with a grain of salt.

I hate to break it for you, but even cheap gear is 200k on the AH. Anything that can be considered an upgrade..well for pretty much anyone.. is going to run you at least a mil.

Loot 2.0 is literally right around the corner, I'd just wait for that. :)

    Quote from MetabolicFrolic

I don't understand the logic that "It's okay to powerlevel, this is a Diablo game."
What kind of uproar would there be if this was any other game with this kind of exploit.

If you want to be 60, just play the freakin' game the way it's supposed to be played.
ARPGs aren't like other games. The appeal of Diablo isn't leveling - it's the grinding and the motif of constantly getting stronger. Unlike other games, killing monster still gives direct power to the player even at level 60/70. In a traditional RPG, the level cap IS the cap in power your base character has. It's just not the same. Even without help, you can quickly level 1-60 in just a few hours.1-10 takes about 5 minutes in torment 6 with Hellfire ring, 10-42 in Master or torment 1, 42(with a 1k+ dps weapon)-50 or so in Torment 6, then scale back as you reach 60.

Is it a problem that you can be power leveled with a second player? Sure. Will they fix it? Probably. Is it their top priority a month before launch? You must be insane.

Crusader. In general, what gets me into blizzard expansions is new classes. Warlords sparked 0 interest in me, no new class.

Also, summoner builds might actually be viable now. That's incredibly exciting. :D!

Guaranteed legendaries stop at 60 so I don't really see an issue with this. I don't think power leveling will be an issue. It requires you to already have 1 character to 60. You also miss out on all of the fun guaranteed legendaries from bosses.

posted a message on Thoughts on Path of Exile?
PoE suffers from, in my opinion, too much RNG. Look at level 97 + hardcore deaths. Most of them died from things that were impossible to react to. We're talking about people with triple the survival of your average player(or more) in positions where your personal skill is irrelevant instantly dying. Killing a high health mob that summons mobs and when it dies rezzes everything around instantly crashing your game & killing you. Killing a high damage teleporting mob with fractured(summons like 8 mobs of the same type on top of you) <- couple this with multi projectiles on those stupid worms, it's not uncommon to instantly die.

Couple this with constant desync issues, imbalanced skills(to the point where there are dozens of skill gems that no one in their right mind uses - because they're 30-40% weaker than the prime skills with no benefit) and constant "balance" patches. The game has a lot of good, no question, and I've put a couple hundred hours into the game. However, these flaws made me ultimately stop playing. Desync in a ARPG is really big to me, and when most builds have to have some way to manage desync, there's an issue.
