It said I was the Wizard, which was a bit surprising. I was intentionally trying to get to the Monk.
I think the developers were trying to ensure that the player was the star of the show, not a very overpowered summon. No other class besides the WD has access to such a variety of customizable companions because they're unnecessary for those classes and do not follow the flavor of the class. Although I agree that on paper the numbers do not appear very impressive when looking at the WD's summons, I fully expect people will appreciate them more when they get to higher levels.
The question occurs of whether it is better to beef up your MF and sacrifice a bit of killing efficiency or just let MF be damned and murder everything which means you'll net more kills per minute which in turns means more chances of loot drops per minute. I haven't completely read up on loot tables and clvls of creatures in D3, but from what I understand most every creature in a certain difficulty level has the chance to drop almost any item, with a few notable exceptions (someone please clarify if this is flat out wrong).
As for gear in general anything under endgame items will be give out or sold if no one wants as my friends/group level. I'm not gonna save some level 30 legenday 1 hand crossbow for my DH if I am grouping with a DH in my circle of friends or in Red Panda's group that could use it right now. That Item could help us beat the next boss. I'm looking to get to 60, I'm not worried about mid level items.
That's an excellent point. Most of my friends I'll be playing with are going to be casual enough that I'll blow past them level-wise. It'll be quite enjoyable to give them a fantastic item for their main and see them actually use it. This sentiment used to exist in WoW but it got so easy to upgrade items that sometimes it'd be just like, "thanks...[item discarded two played in-game hours later]".
So the question becomes: which female character is the least sexiest (most repulsive, even)? Obviously by the results right now it is the witch doctor, but she seems to be the only class that isn't attempting to look appealing. There's also a bit of crazy tied to the WD which can easily be a turn off.
Unfortunately, it seems to be the case. Otherwise, why is Blizzard making it a point to include her in every single commercial and bit of lore pertaining to D3?
