I really dont consider ThuD cheating. It shows you information that SHOULD be in game already; in particular, you're DPS and how skills/different legendary powers influence your character. ThuD is bending the rules to make the game make more sense / more enjoyable.

Botting is outright cheating, and that's why I do not play Diablo 3 anymore.

Just because you think it's ok doesn't make it ok. It's against the law (here blizz d3 TOS 2) and hence it is not allowed. This is a typical saying of any criminal hence, somebody using Thud is a criminal in the official sense.
and I get that, in the strictest interpretation. But my argument is this: High level GR play is extremely flawed; the density and mob makeup is atrocious, and you NEED THud to actually complete most high level rifts because they are so broken. The definition of cheating is gaining an unfair advantage; THud just levels the playing field of a broken system.

posted a message on [Fanmade] Necromancer Q&A

    2. Some of the commenters here need to go rinse the sand out and relax. It's called "Fan" made for a reason!

Nobody's been unfair or mean. We all acknowledge his valiant effort. It's just we don't see how a necro wouldn't overlap a WD. A WD is a cursing, summoning dot-focused class. I mean, that's necro in a nutshell.
I suppose it's possible the necro could return, but I would lay my money on a druid or an amazon. Because, you know, Skovos.

very nice ideas and probably a shit ton of work - sadly blizz said multiple times already that there will be no necro because we already got the wd.

This. I don't get the whole obession with necros. Golems are garguatuans, and skeletons are zombie dogs. It's already done, people. There will be no necromancer.
Like I said though, this guy put in a ton of effort. It's just something they have stated will never be.

A LOT of effort for a class that already exists, albeit under a different name :-(

    But a great effort!

As always a few changes (on the first PTR 2.3 patch) don't make it to the official Patch Notes, and we usually put together a thread with a quick list to them. Skill Changes

    • Teleport now works "through" closed doors.

Fuck yes. The PTR can go live now. I'm happy. If they fixed the pathing issues as well, I will die a happy goblin.

posted a message on Fixing Unity/SOJ to bring them into 2.1 Standards
Nothing is wrong with Soj/Unity or RROG. They are the standard the other rings have to be brought up too; interesting affixes, powerful effects that most builds at least wish they could equip somehow, even if they cannot.

I meant playing in the same game without any break for hours and hours, I'm not saying you shouldn't play the game that long, hey, I have 2.000hours played, I'm saying, take a break now and then and take the opportunity to start a fresh game to refresh your loot table.
Once again, Loot tables do not exist. Do NOT Exist. Stop spreading that bullshit around; enough people already believe in them. /eye roll

posted a message on Nerf the dh
Im not sure why this thread is still going on. FACT: DHs, Zdps Monk/WDs, and possibly a VERY geared Wizard are the only real choices for High 44+ GRs. DPS MONKS /Barbs/Crusaders dont deal AND take too much damage. FACT: This is a systemic issue because damage is so ridiculous in high level GRs.

FACT: Damage for all classes need to come up to par with DHs.

FACT: Even then, this wont fix the problem of melee survivability.

FACT: Melee survivability needs to come up so they can do thier jobs

Opinion: this is where we guess how they accomplish this. They have melee passive damage reduction as a knob to turn; (up to 50% ?) And i suspect they will allow us to use gems to reroll secondaries into a resist of our choice (maybe?) This may cause problems with Harmony, which might have to be adjusted/revamped.

Opinion; what if they changed FireWalls/Ice Climbers to be immune to Fire/Ice respectively? With an immunity amulet, a pair of boots and gemming resist on gear, you might be highly resistant to three types of damage. Bow, lets go further, maybe Thundergods makes you immune to lightning and Profane Pauldrons immune to arcane? SHAGGY on the first page has it right; this is a symptom of terrible itemization on d3. we all use the same gear; there's very few pieces we could shift around; maybe they should add Set Bracers for the major sets and let us shift pieces around depending on what kind of damage we need to avoid - and let us customize our gear depending on what we do or do not find.

Or make individual legs competitive with sets; i definitely dont like the paradigm "use this set or..you suck" we're stuck in much at all.
