On the PTR the pony build is just hilarious for T10... Elites literally die just by you running through them, so u just pony up and run through the rift. Clears take ~2min maybe.

posted a message on Crusader block (PTR questions)

Hi, when I mouse over block % it says "You have a maximum of 75% block" which confuses me on a couple of points...

Th details part of block % doesn't cap out until 100%, is this a bug and it does in fact cap out at 75% or is it 100%?

Now, even though details part caps at 100% everyone playing this build gets block everywhere possible... Why? Does the extra block % continue to apply for the justice lantern effect even over 100%? I mean I imagine with block on lantern, shield, blood brother, block from Punish and Provoke these people must have like 150 - 200% block. Is there some advantage to having this much?

    Quote from Mad_Tom»

Rifts, even T6 is good enough, and the cow level (with Bovine Bardiche) - has a lot of chests and shrines, so if you can put nemesis bracers in your build.

Is there even a point in going above T6 for gear farming?

Hi, just curious with the drop buff on PTR what would people say the fastest way to farm gear is? I fancied trying out some of the builds, but lack of lot of the required slots.

posted a message on Ban Wave of Botters in Diablo 2

So, checking around some forums it seems prior to the ladder reset on D2 there was a little ban-wave of some botters (not all of them naturally but still)

Did Blizz think the open letter was for D2, not D3? :P

posted a message on Soft- and Hardcore, could they play together?

A lot of people would exploit it, getting the SC character to check the area beforehand, play the more dangerous roll etc. It would remove some of the threat of playing HC and to that end I say no.

what? you cant delete characters and not use your paragon points in nonseason? you cant just delete your character on first death on softcore? those are not physically possible?

games always have costs for perks...i have to spend time to get mats items and gold exp etc. why not game shark this bitch and go god mode with infinite everything then? by my logic seasonal players should bitch about not getting to keep items/exp every new season because thats as INSANE as nonseasonal players bitching about not getting seasonal-only stuff. dont make some piss poor attempt at twisting my logic when youre too close minded to bother comprehending it..
Yes, but you can't convince everyone in the world to do the same thing. Seasonal is a fresh start for everyone, not just you and from my understanding that is the appeal. Everyone starting fresh. New season, new patch, new race. The fresh start isn't meant to be a cost of playing seasonal, it's meant to be the point. Also "Games always have costs for perks... I have to spend time to get mats, items, gold, exp". Are you now implying that playing the game is a cost?

Ok, lets for a moment go with your opinion that the fresh start is the price you have to pay. Then, would you personally prefer seasons be removed entirely and you get the extras without having to start from scratch?

why is that the point of season? what if the point of season was to get new stuff as soon as it comes out? new legs, new patches, new appearance stuff, actual competition in the leaderboard instead of a desolate wasteland where barely trying to push will get you to the low hundreds. and the COST of those perks are having to start over. l2perspective.

theres nothing wrong with blizzard offering incentives to play season. its not like theyre removing features from nonseason to force people into season. theyve offered incentives every season. its each individual players choice to decide whether thats worth it or not. if it isnt, then dont bitch about not getting stuff! bitching about not getting stuff when you decide to play nonseason is the same as season players bitching about having to start over. except they dont bitch about that. because each and every single seasonal player accepted the choice he/she made.

pros and cons son. pros and cons.

Because it's a game, why should there be a cost to perks? Why have a negative to a positive that simply makes no sense. By your logic, seasons are actually bad because the only thing the season mode offers is a fresh start and you are claiming that to be a negative which in turn means you would prefer seasons not exist and simply get all the content on non-season.

The reason the fresh start is the point of seasons, is because that is the only thing the season mode does that couldn't be done in non-season. Just like how the only thing HC does is give your character one life, even if they added extra content to HC the point to HC would be that one life because everything else could potentially be put into the other modes. Adding an extra game mode is meant to offer a different way to play, be it one life, gameplay changes, fresh start what ever it may be and if that's your thing then more to ya but the point of a mode should not be "extra content, at a cost!" that's dumb.

can you imagine if seasonal players made threads EVERY SINGLE SEASON bitching and moaning about not getting to keep their items, exp, etc from previous play?

This comparison makes no sense. The point of season is to start new without ure items, exp etc. A correct comparison would be, if you was a season player but every season you had to do something non-season in order to unlock stash tabs. Oh, the seasonal players would be bitching then. End of the day, I've got nothing against people that enjoy season. I personally don't get it, but if u find it fun then more to ya.

I just don't see why Blizzards feels the need to add extra goodies to season I mean the ONLY thing season-only extras does is force people who do not want to play seasons to play them and that is simply ridiculous, if people don't want to play the mode why make them? Does Blizz think if they don't entice people to play the mode then it'll become a ghost town and in which case surely the issue lies in the mode and baiting people into it isn't a way to fix it. This reminds me of back when RBGs in WoW were a ghost town, and rather than Blizz attempting to make it more fun so people WANTED to do it they just made it give Conquest Points above the Arena rewards cap, more and more they go for the "lets just make them do it!" option instead of making the mode more appealing, fun.

posted a message on Will you play seasons now there will no longer be season-only items?

When ever the topic of "why do you play seasons" came up, the only solid answer anyone could really give was the fact it had season-only items... Mostly because within a couple days you have full set so the "fresh start" concept doesn't really last long and there's no trading meaning no economy reset.

So, with that in mind and the fact it was announced there will be no season-exclusive items next season... Will you still be playing season and why?

posted a message on What would happen if Diablo 3 Source Code was given to people who truly want to make this game amazing.

If the game was given a single player experience and mod tools, well that's just adding features to the game while taking pretty much nothing away so yeah of-course that would improve the game, modding and messing with the games mechanics is fun.

That being said I feel the community severely underestimate how difficult it is to keep people playing a game for weeks, months, years after release and Blizzard has done an excellent job at keeping the game going (especially considering there's no cost after buying the initial game). If they were to simply drop the game and give it's control to the community it'd likely be dead within the month, I mean mods are fun but I can't think of a single mod that largely changes the games mechanics that's kept me interested for more than a week.

Also, you say it's been proven that games with mod tools have a long life... But I doubt any of them are raking in as many hours playtime a day as Diablo is right now. Mods are nothing more than a bit of fun on the side, a game can't lean on them to keep it going for years to come. I mean look at torchlight 2, how many people still play that?

posted a message on The "Help me Re-roll" Thread (Witch Doctor)

I've got a scrimshaw I need to reroll and I've broken it down to 2 final options... I can either reroll

    6% damage to 10% damage
    or
60% zombie charger damage to 75%+ zombie charger damage

At first I thought zombie charger was the obvious choice, but after seeing the top WDs haven't even bothered to roll this stat on there boots (favoring life regen) has made me unsure, any advice?

posted a message on How to get to higher Torments when your damage is to low?

In my opinion the absolute fastest way to gear if your new to season is join T6 (T7 if ure para 100, T8 if ure para 150.. don't go above this id say) public games and just get carried. Seasons been out a while, so most people are geared to the point they don't care if your just following because everything gets 1 shot anyway... Craft sages set while you do this to get even more death's breathe and throw a ruby in ure helm for XP.

I started the season recently and using this method I got my full set and was capable of soloing GR 45 within 2 days of being level 70.
