I kind of like the passive that pushes 15% of the cost onto hp. If you have 50k HP you'd regen 500 hp/sec. Zombie Chargers would only take 21 hp per cast...You would run out of mana but it would be slightly more defensive since you'd have passive HP regen. I mean - I think it depends on the type of gear you get. If you find a lot of vit/hp heavy gear - I think the benefits of using that passive could be warranted..
and to Sabvre: That should be pretty easy. My concern is that Soul Harvest will be dangerous in Inferno. Not to mention useless on bosses that don't have adds..
I am hoping vision quest alone could pump out enough mana, and I think it could, but you would need very high end gear with the right affixes.
-mana cost zombie bears
+mana regeneration.
+max mana (up to 150) wouldn't be as good, but it could be useful as well with gruesome feast.
Gruesome feast doubles as a mana generator and DPS increasing skill.
The reduced mana cost to zombie charger only comes on mojo, shield, bow, & crossbow. In fact, according to the guide, a lot of WD affixes are on DH weapons?!? I counted 8 WD skill affixes supposedly on crossbows, and only 3 on ceremonial knives?!?
Assuming I have perfect regen items in every slot, and assuming that vision quest uses base + gear mana regen, then it wouldn't make a huge difference whether I used 2h or 1h.
I am curious about your point about Sharpshooter. Is it really that weak?
Depends if your gear is good or bad really. It also depends on the wording compared to the actual functionality too.
If you have high crit % and a fast attack speed, then aside from the first shot in between groups its not going to do a whole heck of a lot due to the 1 second reset CD.
For instance imagine a situation where you have 50% crit and 2 APS. (50% crit sounds like a lot, but with good gear you could technically get over 100% and 3 APS could easily be done with DW.)
0.0 - Attack Crit (1 sec CD starts)
0.5 - no benefit
1.0 - no benefit
1.5 - +3% crit (probability 50%)
2.0 - no crit
2.5 - +6% crit (probability 12.5%)
3.0 - no crit
3.5 - 9% (probability 3.125%)
In this scenario the odds you get 2 stacks is slim, and the odds you get 3 is just laughable. Then when you start averaging out how much additional crit% you actually had the entire time, it gets really low. Mostly a bunch of +0% crit while on CD and 3% buffs with the occasional +6% and rare +9% and higher.
There are a couple unknowns though. Like after the 1 second cooldown, maybe you don;t get a stack instantly and you have to wait one additional second. That is a good possibility.
Also, what about the shots during the CD. What if they crit? Does the CD restart? I would hope not, but that possibility exist as well.
Furthermore, this is a single target scenario, which is really best case for this passive. In a room full of mobs, even with a rather low crit%, you are almost certainly going to crit one of them with an aoe spell.
Vision Quest:
Anytime you have 4 or more skills on cooldown your mana regeneration is increased by 300%
80 mana per second, before gear.
Is it me or is that just sexy with a 2h?
Assuming it works with gear as well, which there is no reason to assume it won't given the wording, then we are talking HUGE regen #s.
Mana regen
Mojo - Voodoo Mask - Ceremonial Knife
Max = 12-14 mana per second
Damn, blizzard wins again!!!!
You can only have 1 mana regen item if you use 2h.
Wrathful Protector
Summon a more powerful Gargantuan that only lasts for 15 seconds. The Gargantuan's fists burn with fire, dealing 55% of your weapon damage as Fire and knocking enemies back. Unlocks at Level 39
Restless Giant
When the Gargantuan encounters an elite enemy or is near 5 enemies, it enrages for 15 seconds gaining:
20% movement speed
35% attack speed
200% Physical damage
This effect cannot occur more than once every 120 seconds. Elite enemies include champions, rares, bosses, and other players. Unlocks at Level 29
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can someone please explain to me the reason why wrathful protector would ever be chosen over restless giant? restless giant seems much better and is offered at a lower level and requires less micro management.
Just another case where some runes simply suck is all.
A rune that turns your awesome tank into a pathetic DPS cooldown? No thanks. Thats almost like a bad joke.
v/s
A rune that turns your awesome tank into an awesome DPS/Tank when you need him the boost in dmg the most. Amazing. The CD is an extra minute longer, but who cares? Chances are you won't run into another elite pack or boss within 2 minutes of one another.
What am i missing? If there's no flat damage reduction AFTER the percent reduction, what do you gain by not stacking +VIT?
You could take 2 hits and be at 10k health (just making up a number) or 500health. Why is 500 better?
It becomes harder to heal yourself back to full the more HP you have.
Life regen & Life on hit usually heal for low #s, but if your HP is really low they can heal huge chunks of your total HP.
The basic idea is that in inferno the mobs might hit so hard that they take away 35% of your HP per hit anyways. If that is the case, and it appears to be, then this not only yields more survivability but also gives you the ability to throw defense to the wind and completely stack offensive stats.
Okay, if that's the only answer, then what we're really talking about is just "Force Armor" will be good for inferno.
But since it has no answer for poison or bleed, it won't actually save you much in itemization... unless you think they're won't be ANY poison damage in inferno.
Force armor should work on poison dmg as well. I would think so anyways. If it doesn't then this build would potentially be much less effective in some areas of the game.
Jesus, can people stop quoting 20 posts at a time?
What fun is a world first 60 run if THERE'S NO WAY TO PROVE IT
Yeah this is my feeling as well. I understand the desire to want to be first. I'm as competitive as they come, but without an achievement or some way to unequivocally prove that someone is the first to hit 60, it really loses all significance. Now, first through Normal, Nightmare, Hell and Inferno and even more-so first hardcore through them all...those are the world firsts to push for.
I agree. Even if they did give recognition to something like that it would pale in comparison to a real achievement, like world 1st inferno.
Edit: I wonder if there is going to be a solo and co-op achievement for inferno.
I don't agree with everything but overall it's good for people who have never played the class before. Nothing is required for a build to work, I'm using 4 Discipline moves in my build and I'm confident it will work very well.
What is your build.
Of course this is with solo play style in mind. Group play could be slightly different.
Affix: Tier 8 Reduces Mana Cost for Zombine Charger by 1-9
Affix: Tier 10 Mana regeneration Increases by 12-14 per Second
3 perfect item affixes
-27 mana cost from Zombie Charger
+42 mana per second
Mana Regeneration with Vision Quest:
(20+14*3) * 4 = 248 mana per second
Zombie Bear Spam (1.5 APS dagger 50% increased attack speed)
1.5 * 1.5 * (140-9*3) = 255 mana per second
Net expenditure:
248-255 = -7 mana per second
So with BiS, or even near BiS affixes, you could essentially spam Zombie bears near indefinitely.
EDIT:
According to the spoiler Affix list
WD - pets confirmed to stay alive in inferno
DH - Glass Cannon
Wizard - awesome, but more of CC caster now.
I am leaning DH, but I am fairly certain she will have the hardest time in inferno.
