    True, 5 - 10 seconds would help a lot.

What would REALLLLY help is if champ affixes got used on the pets, that would be sick.

I really don't expect this from Blizzard though, they'll probably make it so the pets are a lot stronger, but you have to stack higher defenses to tank champs. Or they'll make it so the Gargantuan can tank champs but the dogs are garbage. Which would be a definite improvement.

I mean I'm hoping for the best, but considering how much damage A3 champs can do, it would make pets really OP if they could tank that without stacking defensive stats.

Love the 1 word responses to bump your thread.

No one minds people posting streams / YouTube videos when they're helpful (truthful?) but why lie in the thread title?

Show us proof you make 1 million / hour because it's pretty obvious that even with huge GF, making 1 million an hour won't happen in terms of raw gold average. Anyone who farms it themselves will see that the most they can average is around 500k.

So basically you put forth false information to get people to click on your YouTube video. Not sure how this kind of stuff is allowed to be honest.

look at his gear, it's pure damage gear, nothing else. He won't be able to use just bats/bears because he has not enough mana regen also he can't use just bears because he has 0 resistances.

You don't need mana regen or any resistances on gear to use bears/bats, especially with that much damage.

Of course you can put Bears / Bats on your skill bar and use it with no regen. And of course you can survive A3 if you have massive vitality with no resistances. The point is that it's dumb and inefficient.

You really don't want to use Bears or Bats without +30 regen from gear, and most likely Honored Guest / Swallow Your Soul depending on your damage, playstyle, etc.

To be honest, even though I like Splinter specs the most for WDs (and LS especially), once you have 150k damage (or way lower really) you should probably be using Dire Bats (or Bears exclusively) if you want the best damage. Not that Bats are good for all parts of A3. But the point is that once you have high enough damage, you should be farming fast enough that the whole Splinter + BBV/FA thing isn't as useful. For areas like Breached Keep I'd still prefer LS / Splinters though.

Yeah, I just meant for people in general who have huge damage you would ideally switch over to Bats or Bears (if you have defense too) once you get high enough that FA and BBV aren't helpful.

I actually think Pile On would be really good with that much damage. Assuming you stuck with darts (that's what I would do because I don't like VQ), I would get Darts / SW / Grasp / LS / Pile On / Probably Stalker or Face of Death depending on how it worked out.

I wonder about ZDs + Provoke the Pack instead of Pile On + Horrify though, might be interesting.

Anyways, this stream is really underwhelming, that was the point of my post. It's a real letdown to see 150k DPS and realize that the spec you're using isn't optimal, you don't farm very fast and your EHP is pretty awful considering you have no resistances.

Not trying to be super critical, but here goes...

You obviously have realy high HP, but no resistances. In terms of EHP, after a certain point resistance / armor is definitely more valuable than vitality, and even more so because of how health potions work. It's not a huge deal and I'm sure AH prices and the times you got the gear had a lot to do with it. But for anyone who watches this, know that you want your stats to be roughly equal (EHP wise) in order to have the most efficient defense.

The rate at which you kill things in A3 is pretty slow for having 150k damage. I mean that's an insane amount of damage to have, but yet you really don't kill things incredibly fast compared to other classes. Also, it's honestly pointless to focus on killing white mobs, they don't drop good loot and collecting gold is going to be a waste of time usually.

Why not use Locust Swarm and simply run past mobs to elites / champions? I don't really understand why you use Bears with Darts either. I can see how it might be useful for killing champions when you switch to MF gear (maybe) but doesn't seem necessary.

To be honest, even though I like Splinter specs the most for WDs (and LS especially), once you have 150k damage (or way lower really) you should probably be using Dire Bats (or Bears exclusively) if you want the best damage. For areas like Breached Keep I'd still prefer LS / Splinters though.

Zombie Wall isn't a great skill either, but I can see how it might be needed against certain packs since you can sit behind doorways with it though. I guess it seems reasonalbe to use Zombie Wall once you have such high DPS if you're still using a Splinter build since BBV, FA and SH become less useful. Honestly... I might use Provoke the Pack if I had that much DPS lol.

But like I said, for people who stack a ton of damage with no MF, Dire Bats is usually better after a certain point since you should be farming stuff really fast and the long cds for BBV/FA won't be as useful as shorter ones.

Also... you use SA instead of JF which doesn't make much sense. The increased mana regen is really small compared to what you can get on items.

You know if they buff pets it's not going to make a huge difference in how WDs play I think.

The point of this game is farming elites/champions, and even when pets are buffed, they'll probably still have trouble surviving elites/champions unless you're spec'd and geared for it. And since Blizzard is clearly not going to allow pets to do real damage, it's not going to matter much if they buff pets.

Being able to tank white mobs is pretty meaningless when you reach D3's "endgame."

So I hope they buff pets, but it's not going to affect people's builds that much because they won't let the pets do high damage.

Obviously what they really need to do is fix how mana works and buff some of our weaker spells/passives somehow.

Similar to Sarkoth or A3 Nightmare.

You have to take into account the strength of the monsters though. Sarkoth is most likely better still because you need almost no offensive stats to kill him, making it very easy to stack high GF. As a WD you just use Fetish Ambush and/or Pile On and he'll die almost instantly even with bad stats.

I seriously doubt you can make 1 million an hour doing this though. Averaging 500k / hour is really difficult to do in any area of the game, unlikely that you would double it.

Just because you make 1 million during 1 hour doesn't mean you'll average that much believe it or not. The disparities are greater than most people would assume.

Also, gold farming is unbelievably boring. You have to be pretty crazy to do this for more than a few hours, for a few days. An hour run will honestly feel like 6 hours, it's not fun at all.

Again, even with like 300% GF, it's very difficult to AVERAGE over 500k / hour in any area of the game. Do not expect to AVERAGE 1 million gold / hour farming Festering Woods like this.

So basically you just play the game with no GF or MF gear until you have ~1 million gold. Then you use that gold to buy a cheap MF set that can complete A1 (not hard to do). And just farm A1 for a better MF set... and so on.

Pretty much exactly what I have had to do.

I would like to have an MF set, but you don't "have," to have it.

Of course you don't have to have it since NV is 75%.

But the differences between farming A1 with 75% MF and farming A1 with 275% MF (very easy to get) feels pretty extreme.

Getting no rares on bosses is really discouraging.

If you can farm A3 with only 75% MF from NV then by all means do that. I think it's still worse than A1, but probably only by a small margin. I'm just saying... farming A1 with 75% MF is not efficient.

You have to use GF or MF gear. If you don't use either one it's going to take a while to accumulate gold the way things are now.

In the beginning you could sell garbage gear for a decent amount of gold and repair costs were a joke. So people who played from day 1 had an easier time. Also, you used to get more gold from drops before I'm pretty sure. It's a lot different now.

If you enter Inferno today with no gold and obviously terrible gear (maybe you'd have some gold if you didn't buy a weapon for Hell) you're in kind of a bad position.

Basically you have to just farm 1 million gold somehow. Either by playing previous difficulties or maybe just not dying in Inferno.

Once you get like 1 million you should buy a weak MF set and farm A1. Eventually you'll get an item worth like ~5 million probably. Then you upgrade your MF set, etc.

You could use that 1 million gold to buy GF gear, but it's not worth it really. GF is bad compared to MF (although this wasn't the case early on) and it's insanely boring running things over and over for gold.

So basically you just play the game with no GF or MF gear until you have ~1 million gold. Then you use that gold to buy a cheap MF set that can complete A1 (not hard to do). And just farm A1 for a better MF set... and so on.

Of course people go other routes since they want to do things faster... which means using bots (not recommending this) or real money to get ahead.

If you don't already know... Dire Bats + GotD means that you're forced to get Honored Guest if not Swallow Your Soul too. You need 50+ mana regen from gear as well (helm, weapon, off hand). It's the most mana intensive of the popular WD builds. Having to use SW for mana regen is pretty lame, but it's the biggest downside to using Bats over Darts (or ZBs) I think. Not getting Grasp is a terrible idea though as it's our best CC.

I'd recommend you get Horrify: Face of Death instead of Hex too. Hex really isn't that good overall.

It's best used for progression when you have weak gear. People use it for teleporters, but Face of Death allows you to fear on vortex and teleport. It's just a better ability.

More advice... don't use Zombie Wall. It's another weak CC ability imo. Pile On is obviously OP in some situations. But the CC variants aren't very good. I guess it's there as an option for people who don't have enough mana for Grasp or something.

As far as I'm concerned these are the best CC abilities to pair with either DB or ZB: http://us.battle.net...ch-doctor#Z.UdX

Notice they all take advantage of Spirit Vessel for what it's worth too. Some people will drop SH because it can be annoying. But besides the CC you either run with BBV, FA or both. BBV makes more sense for ZBs though.

Once you get enough gear that you're killing champs faster than every 2 min BBV / FA become weaker. Some people may keep them just to have a long cooldown to make VQ easier. I tend to agree with doing this just because you shouldn't need more than Horrify / GotD / SW to escape mobs.

    Something like this: http://us.battle.net...UdXP!WVU!aaZabZ

Maybe drop a mana rune depending on your personal playstyle and how much you spam bats.

You're losing gold by picking up these items.

Same goes for anything below ilvl61 really. The time spent seeing prices on the AH, going back to town, etc. It's just not worth picking up anything below 61.

Except for rings and amulets that is. I pick rings and amulets up no matter what the ilvl, though I guess I should only pick up 60+ probably. I don't understand why they made things different for jewlery, just makes it more confusing.

I disagree with Sacridoc about act 2 being bad for mf. The difference in gear required to go from act 1 to act 3 is huge and in my oppinion act 2 comes in for the transition period. In act 2, for example, you can go to Road of Alcarnus (1/2 packs), followed by finding Zoltun Kulle's Vault. Finding the vault will take 1 to 15 mins or so, the longer it takes you to find it the more champion packs you will run in to, I think you can get a total of 6 in the Desolate Sands. If you happen to run into the big wurm cave, do it and also do Cave of the Betrayer. Once you've found the vault there are around 8-10 packs waiting for you all the time. After this you can go to the Archives and clear 2 portals there finish with Zoltun Kulle if you want. All in all you'll get around 18-20 rare mobs and Zoltun Kulle add to that a couple of goblins.

You may be right. I'm speaking from a ranged perspective really. Which means I like to avoid fast and ranged mobs as best I can. Seems like there are more champs like that in A2. Same reason I prefer Heart of Sin to Siegebreaker or Breached Keep forward.

posted a message on When does farming with no MF > with MF
In my experience A1 has been better, but it depends on the character really. The best way to do things (as ranged at least) seems to be to start off by trying to get high MF (like 300+ w/ NV) with average stats, and then just farm A1 to slowly increase your stats until you have high MF and high defense / offense.

But it's understandable that people wouldn't want to do that. It does feel a bit weak to not be able to do A3 very well even after like 250+ hours of farming because you have all MF gear.

Some people want to be able to beat the highest level content easily first and don't care as much about a lower drop percentage. It's just a preference really.

And in terms of how much MF gear would cost to faceroll A3... the answer is a lot. That's why it's understandable that people avoid MF gear because when you go for really high MF you're going to have like a few hundred hours played and you may not be able to do A3 really, which is kind of pathetic, but that's how it goes.

posted a message on Magic Find or Gold Find runs?
    MF > GF.
Max GF is like ~500,000 / hour. Not very good overall. And the gear can still be expensive because bots use it.

For MF there's really 3 choices (maybe 4).
That's A1: Get 5 stacks from Festering, then clear to Butcher. You can go to the Northern Highlands, Defiled Crypts, stuff like that too. But the later in the Act you get, the better the drops are supposed to be. It's probably easier to just keep farming to Butcher rather than porting all over the place looking for more champs.

Another choice (once you get better gear) is to farm A3. Some people do Heart of Sin > Azmodan, some do Bridge > Siegebreaker... and some do Breached Keep > Azmodan. Depends on your personal preference and what you find easier I guess. Heart of Sin > Azmodan is what I'd rather do.

You can also farm WS which is also pretty decent... gives same drops as A3/4. Though ranged classes are better at it than melee. So if you're melee you probably don't want to do WS. And if you can farm A3 efficiently, you may be better off doing that.

The other choice would be farming goblins in A2... I don't do this. I'd rather do standard runs than look for goblins. But apparently it's a decent way of farming.

But for the most part... A2 and A4 are garbage for MF farming, you want to stick to late A1 and then WS or A3 once you get better gear.

As for GF... it's Sarkoth (Dank Cellar A1) or A3 NM runs (that's the spiders during Heart of Sin). You used to be able to farm the pots in The Royal Crypts, etc but they nerfed that.

The thing to keep in mind though is that a lot of people farm A3 with no MF gear, so you can still MF pretty well in A3 even with 0 base MF. But I wouldn't try that in A1, it's really awful.

MF is a lot better than GF in my opinion. Like I said, the people who buy GF are often botting. No real person wants to farm Dank Cellar for 10 hours a day... it'll drive you insane. And there's no excitement either. The only reason to GF is to get enough gold in order to buy MF gear to farm A1.
