posted a message on Blizzard on PTR

I've been mainly using (on live) Blizzard: Stark Winter to mass proc cold blooded before cleaning up with Disintegrate: Volatility. Although admittedly my Wiz is a bit of a glass cannon and gets 1-shot a lot on MP1+.

In between messing about on PTR, trying to complete Inferno HC self-found and RL I'm struggling to get a HF ring done before 2.0 too, got 10 of 1 key, 9 of another and 5 of the last.

If you manage to farm the keys (3 of each) try asking in chat for help, there is normally someone that will carry you through the Ubers on MP10.

posted a message on Legacy Legendary again?
Given that mf is heavily nerfed when it comes leg/set items is it worth the DPS/EHP hit?

posted a message on Legacy Legendary again?

Any leg/set items <61 will able to be broken down to brimstone.

I would imagine that most will be useless once you have RoS with a few exceptions mainly for twinking, especially the Inferno level Whimseyshire items with damage rolls (as I believe new Whimseyshire legs will roll at char level rather than lvl30?) and pre-loot2.0 Hellfire rings.

Revert mf back to its original effect, without the reduction for legs and suchReplace the "+110 exp per kill" with "+3% bonus exp" (numbers are examples)
No to the mf - all mf affect leg drop rates achieves is high level well geared players seeing tonnes of legs and low level/poorly geared players seeing none at all. Torment already has increased leg drop rates so that should compensate. Is the +90 xp/kill affected by all the other scaling? If so it's not a problem as it is surely?

posted a message on [MONK] Cyclone (attack speed) stutter on PTR...

You don't say where in the world you are, but don't forget all PTR/RoS beta servers are in the US.

Also I have noticed some improvements when playing at 120Hz (3D) in the areas with water, don't know if it's graphical changes or less mobs/clutter though.

    4) If you're desperately craving for a specific drop, i.e., a Mempo, that's exactly what the gambling is made for. You farm some blood shards and buy some helms.

You missed the "unless you don't buy RoS, then you be screwed".

posted a message on BOA...Won't somebody please think of the children??!!

I never said that wasn't, just that the currant systems will either be unrewarding by making it so you never get that item/set you want, or instantly gratifying by having drop rates so high that you get everything immediately.

I'm sure Blizzard could come up with a compromise somewhere between best items are BOA and a RMAH. The lack of a bad RNG check in some form or other and the low drop rates does not feel rewarding at all. Similarly high drop rates would feel equally unrewarding in the medium-long term.

A long slog to get items is fine, as long as you actually feel you are getting somewhere on the way e.g see the Hearthstone crafting system, enough items you don't want can craft the item you do want, so even if you never find what you want there is still that excitement of "only one more xxx and I can craft a specific YYY".

posted a message on BOA...Won't somebody please think of the children??!!

The problem is that BoA reinforces the need for instant gratification, if you aren't finding the items you want or finding something that enables you to get something you want the game doesn't feel great.

Therefore if all the best items are BOA and there is no check for bad RNG luck, then they need to be arround in suffinet numbers so players feel they have a realistic chance of getting what they are after (as leg/set items they don't want are marginlly more exciting than whites) as the option to trade those 10 items they didn't want for the 5 they did isn't there.

Honestly, I don't anticipate finding a ton of legendaries when I jump into Reaper of Souls. I do, however, anticipate that I'll be farming up lots of Veiled Crystals, Arcane Dust, Common Debris and gold so I can craft and Enchant as much as I want. And that should keep me plenty busy until I get some powerful enough legendaries, however long that'll be.
Wouldn't you like to feel that you have a chance of actually completing that set it's taken you 1000 hours to find 2 bits of though?

BOA does not worry me, if I find legs I will use them for all my characters and if I don't need it no big deal, I will just vend or sell. But what is annoying is once again the devs just stated that the designers love the idea of killing monsters to get loot, kill more monsters and get more loot how ever they have partially killed that idea by dropping leg rates because of gambling legs. I DO WANT TO FIND LOOT but how can I if the leg drop is poor, I don't intend to gamble my ass off just to MAYBE get legs. I have not had the chance to try gambling and so therefore I do not know what is involved, does it cost gold and mats? and if you do how often you run out before you need to run out and get more? BOA is just one part of the over all tuning problems at the moment, there has to be a balance but finding loot should be the biggest priority to pleasing most of the player base. It is like "What came first? the chicken or the egg?" we need loot before we can start worrying about BOA.
BOA in and of itself doesn't worry me, it's the effect it has on drop rates that does, my main fear since it was announced is that leg/set drop rates are either going to be to low so you don't feel you'll have the chance to complete any set ever or find that 1 build defining item you've been after for a year or too high so that leg/set seem to be raining from the sky and leg/set items just become the normal, in both instances the gameplay will feel unrewarding and tedious.
