Reeks of Mike Morhaine saying "Screw you Wilson, you're not working alone and unchecked. We are putting more people besides Cheng creating systems. What the hell were you thinking in cutting team sizes?"The Diablo team will often include Warcraft and Starcraft teams on ideas to get additional input.
Who says the other games don't get input from the other games' teams? -

This is either a typo or they changed their minds about level 60 players getting xp for ML -

amazing patch to be honest,
they really touched everything that I found annoying/broken.
only thing I dislike is :
"..in return they’ll receive scaling bonuses to experience (for heroes levels 1-59)".
but cannot complain really.
It does say "as well as" after that so it's a bit ambiguous. Not providing any exp incentive for Monster Power after having just added the Paragon incentive would be extremely short sighted.
Not really. Better loot is more than enough incentive (especially since loot is quickly irrelevant as you level in this game but means everything at 60). With the XP shrines, possible gear bonuses to XP, and the NV buff, I think Blizzard wants to cap how fast people can make it to 100. They really want it to take a while. Besides, better loot = improved combat efficiency which means killing faster thus faster XP anyway. Just not as dramatic as the sub-60 improvements. -

Tons of things to be excited about. Camping around waiting for PTR to go live so I can check things out myself.
I wonder if we get to keep whatever we find, though... here's to hoping.
I really doubt it. The only games I've ever played that sometimes allowed beta/test period content into live content were the Korean grind MMOs. The purpose of PTR is that Blizzard could wildly adjust things at will w/o concern for your enjoyment (since it's a test realm) and some bug like 100% drop on Legendaries or whatever is more likely in a test environment so I'd bet all my gold that nothing will carry over. It is possible they might hook your live account with an achievement for playing on PTR. -
Sep 20, 2012Benegesserit posted a message on Patch 1.0.5 PTR Patch Notes - 1.0.5 Coming to the PTRI'd prefer they remove ID from rares altogether, but 1 sec is still a 66% improvement (I have no problems with cast times on Legendaries).Posted in: News
AH auto-pop stats, the new gameplay additions...all awesome.
Will miss WW barb though (huge nerf to proc co-eff = no more WW barbs).
Right now TL2 is godly compared to this game but I'll hit up PTR ASAP to see if I can enjoy 3 loot games at once (BL2). -

Considering what products we have received when it has been up to their standard - I fail to see any objectivity to your skepticism.
They always claim it was up to their standards when they do get critical acclaim and never when it gets bad reception.
Only using hindsight to gauge your "standards" is the anti-thesis of assuring. Also you are clearly forgetting which team is working on this game. Not SC, not WoW. But rather the fail team. The team that actually had standards for Diablo has their game releasing in two days. -

That's not very reassuring -
Sep 15, 2012Benegesserit posted a message on Scheduled Maintenance, Puzzle Ring - So Many Goblins, Build Diversity & Skill hotswapping. Pollskill swapping is silly and I think 6 skills is plenty (a whole lot more than you ever used in D2)...I don't want to feel obligated to swap skills for max effectiveness (this would be like blizzard continuing to encourage MF gear swapping which they implemented paragon to help eliminate over time)Posted in: News
now going to new acts certainly should stop clearing stacks...that's just plain silly...also they should just remove the timer on the buff and leave it on until you leave your game
also a 5m grace period should keep the buff on you in case of disconnects...if you start a new game or remain disconnected for more than 5m...then clear it -

What makes you think he isn't a PhD and has a company that pretty much runs itself? Or smart investing? Being very knowledgeable about anything (like in this case for D3) means you're intelligent. If you're intelligent it means you likely use your skills for multiple things successfully.Quote from Benegesserit
I was actually not looking forward to it because I felt I was already getting an edge on other players
PvE is not designed to be PvP competitive, but it's hard to explain this to a mouthbreathing no-lifer who put a hobby before a proper education.
He stated he was finally going to college in his stream. I've never heard of anyone smart enough to create a self-running business that happened to also be insanely obsessed with a video game to the point where they lose sleep as well as this "intelligence" also running up against the obscenely moronic comment originally bitching about the paragon system in his interview about "getting an edge against other players" in PvE

Tell that to my business! Btw, where's my "THOUSANDS OF ELITES" you promised me? x)

On-topic: I am honestly impressed with the feat this guy has gained... sure 17-19 hr/day is alot of time that he COULD have spent on doing something else, but how the choice of spending it in a PC game is so frowned upon is beyond me... The way I see it this guy has a bunch of self-discipline and from my own experience, discipline is one of the most important factors getting to a set goal within a reasonable timeframe. At the very least, farming for (on average probably) ~14 hours a day over a longer period is a wholly different level than a mindless grind.
That's just how I view it. Grats to Alkaizer, well done.
edit: Typo
discipline is actually the anti-thesis of what he did...he wasn't able to control his obsession with the game...hence no discipline
he was just a notch under those who actually killed themselves playing a game too much -

It was the most anticipated game of the year and had like 5 months to collect searches before they started to drop off when the game tanked in popularity.

How well they are made, yes. But not how complete. Act 4 is not a complete act. Crafting is definitely underdeveloped and not complete. Leaving out an entire feature, PvP. Not complete.

edit: Clever parody but did you have to chose THAT song? I can't even stand its melody...

Get immortal throne and then pick up the fan patches from titanquest.net. There's also a plethora of awesome mods. HEAR THAT BLIZZARD? MODS.

Would look pretty bad if the D3 News Manager said otherwise.

BL2 (best AAA title)
Hotline Miami (best indie)
GW2 (best MMO)
Overall vote BL2
Diablo 3 gets maybe GOTY in 2 more years with lots of patch to make the game good

the funny thing is that the people who will buy their gear (why do some people think it's always kids with their parents' money?) will end up getting stomped because usually people who have amazing gear through the legit way (playing the game a ton) are a lot more skilled

Here's Skyrim
Borderlands 2 is an easy choice for me. Was hoping to give it to ME3 but they really fucked it up.

Props to that guy dual-wielding mice to pull this off.

Only someone who acts like his "character" could come up with such a stupid idea for said character. So, no, he's like that in real life.
Of course only someone stupid enough to think Athene is pretending would put a smiley face at the end of a sentence where it doesn't make any sense.
