The misinformation overload in this thread amuses me. Can't we talk about the reasons of going or not going to a midnight release or party? I won't be going to one. The only reason I waited for a retail copy for SC2 was because the pre-order got me into beta.
well my original intentions were just for people to share what they're doing because they can't go to a launch event. but its like field of dreams with trolls in the thread. if you start it, they will troll.
Lol, I'll give in 2 weeks. 14-16 hours of play per day for 2 weeks = 210 hours. Should be enough for someone to get through it with a bit of planning, luck and RL cash.
nah... it's basically about spending time repeating the same RNG content. it'll take at least a couple weeks to solo each act, maybe a month for act 4. HC characters will probably spend so much time being defensive and careful not to die that they will take especially long to clear inferno. and much more involved in research and investing in their characters via crafting, which takes time (more rng)
Honestly, I probably wont start leveling an alt until i'm max level. I like hitting that ceiling, it's really satisfying. And along the way i'll store up some of the major items (weps, OH, rings) for each act for my next alt so they can level fairly quickly. Probably leave it at 2 characters until I can level my artisans up a fair amount and get some sweet gear for my main chars
ignoring all the trolling, here's what i'd do for wizard.
electrocute with Prodigy is my arcane generator, arcane orb my major power spender and has a slow thru temporal flux, frost nova and wave of force in case monsters get too close (but i'll be behind a monk and barb, so not often), armor with energy tap for higher power pool, archon for teh ultimate pwn4ge
The problem with going WD-Wizard combo is that, in normal and maybe nightmare, you can burst down enemies from range. But by Hell and definitely Inferno, enemies will constantly be in melee range and two casters dont do too well without a tank in front, unless you go melee wizard.
I would suggest the monk. Since your sister doesnt sound like an amazing gamer, you'll want a lot of survivability to make sure she doesnt end up on her own. The monk has incredible survivability and has great support abilities, plus incredible damage output, so it's the clear choice here. Plus, you don't overlap on any loot and can share freely
im playing on low to begin with, but later i might try some medium settings. I'll be playing on a late-2008 MBP that has been able to handle WoW and SC2 well on decent graphics settings, tho it overheats sometimes.
im ashamed of my mac gaming system (which is an oxymoron hehe)
yeah but at least you get a good 7 hours of gaming in before you start to eat into your sleep time
That is a plus. Ive been super hyped and counting down the days until i can play so when i got the news we cant play till 5pm all thats been running through my head has been "im being delayed by 17 hours from when i was meant to be allowed to start playing" haha
i feel ya... thats how i felt the ENTIRE beta... didnt get an invite, turns out i was behind on my OS update so i was never eligible :((((
