Didn't this get hotfixed last night? Or is there something new?
I watched someone steal gold as of about an hour or so ago, so it has not been fixed. Like I said, you can roll back the timer on your computer that messes with your current auctions, allowing exploits.
That bug was dicovered 2 or 3 days ago lol And its so dumb and easy I just cannot even.... what ??
Blizzard is being really amateurish with this game.
By the way the servers will probably get rolled back I wouldn't play too much especially with the AH.
Please Adon and the other guy, cut some of your quotes chain at one point Oo
I must be insane or something, because I actually like this game.
I have very few faults with it. Hmm... time to go check myself into somewhere with men in white coats judging by this topic.
Well like some people will defend it while completly ignoring its faults, some haters will say its the worst game ever. That's just subjectivity at its best.
I like the game, its a great game compared to "other games". But too many things are lacking imo currently to make it the game of the decade (or whatever). But things are not lost yet, they still have patches and a first expansion to recalibrate (if they aknowledge problems and try to fix them). I just lost some faith lately in the dev team though (too long a wait for some of the blatant faults/balance of the game).
I'll just repost here what I said in another thread:
The current endgame of D3 is very boring.
Maybe it will get better but I don't know, they completly dropped the ball on legendaries and overall item system and are saying it will be fixed in a later patch (not 1.0.3 for legendaries).
The situation is really bad for inferno, and they react wayyy too slow in my opinion. If they decide to release untested/unfinished content like they did the 15th, I'm fine with that but then they should be monitoring and actively testing it and tuning it as soon as possible.
We are looking at a 1 month first patch that adresses only one of the core problem of inferno (drop ilvl %). The scarriest part is that they don't seem to see it as very urgent...
The addiction of loot farming is just not there. Loots are boring and all you want is to find a yellow that has the 4-5 stats you want, with good rolls. Everything else you throw away as garbage. This sucks.
If there were better affixes you could actually settle for something having one great affixe and minor ones, but you really cannot. You only want your main stat, some vita, allres if melee, liferegen/life on hit ON EVERY PIECES... Now you make a little probability calculus in your head and you figure why we feel we are looting crap all day long. And every affixes you get on top of those is just shit you dont care, they are just filler like Pick up radius, thorns, unwanted stat etc. You don't see those secondary attributes because they are worthless, you just see them as a nuisance for what could have been a better item if it had a vitality affixe instead of gold pick radius.
I've now down Diablo Inferno with both my Wizard and my Barbarian, I won't log until 1.0.3 only to play a bit of coop. Well, I hope I'll be able to do that because currently coop just blows in Inferno imo and since anything below A3 drops crap I cannot combine efficient farming and coop play with a melee (since they suck in A3+) -.-
Don't get me wrong I still think its a great game, but like I said it has issues that kinda prevent me from enjoying it more than I already did, and at least I'm persistent having finished the game with 2 characters, I know many people that just stopped midway in Inferno because its just a pure mess.
P.S.: As for making another character... Man Normal to Hell is just faceroll, it was cool the first time and maybe the second but getting a 3rd/4th character to 60 is just not interesting, I'm looking at 20-30H of facerolling followed by Inferno mess yay !
Moderation is the key, of course you will get bored if you play a lot.
I disagree. Played Diablo 2 day and night for years since release and wasn't bored of the game until years of playing. Diablo 3 was boring day 4-5 after I was already in inferno. There just isn't anything to do, the level cap is way to low and easy to hit. There is no PvP. The MF gets old and boring, I don't want to run around for half an hour killing normal monsters and hope that something will drop. I would rather run Mephisto runs in 2 minutes and KNOW that something will drop.
In D2 it was about the quick and convenience of stuff, I could log in the morning before work and do a few meph runs and come out with decent gear. In D3 I could log in and spend my whole morning and collect nothing.
I 100% agree with this. The current endgame of D3 is very boring.

I don't die much unless I stubornly want to kill something like fast soul rippers, I don't care about the increase in repair costs it won't make me take more than 300res.
Oh and since coop is playable again in 1.0.3 the barb/monk will take half the hits.
someone spoke of diamond skin, is it still good in inferno? or do you get one shot through it anyway?
Since crystal shell is 20K and a 35% hit is around 15K health for a 40K+ hp character you can see crystal shell as a way to freely absorb 1 hit. As for a protection against one shots, it can help if you lack 10K health (dont forget the absorbtion is not taking into account for the limit of what force armor can absorb).
It has been dispelled in just about every game that uses % based reduction on damage, but I understand everyone has to encounter and see the problem correctly because it might not be straight-forward if a person doesn't have a good math background. For Diablo 3, check this post as to why it doesn't "diminish".
I don't think that post mentions it, but its pretty trivial to prove it doesn't diminish if you just take the first derivative of the damage reduction formula (its a constant, which means constant damage taken improvement per point - it does not diminish).
This is more of a terminology thing. Only important thing here is how many hits can you take till you die. Considering that and other stats it comes down to this.
3k armor = 300 resistance = 50% dmg reduction
you have 3k armor. What's gonna be more benefitial for your survival? getting another 3k armor or getting 300 res?
It's getting 300 res because getting another 3k armor won't make you invulnerable, it'll get you up to 66% reduction.
so basically you can talk about how mathematically there's no diminishing returns in those terms while in reality you'll want to stop stacking some stat because other stat become stronger in relative to that other stat. That's why people call it diminishing returns, it's easier to understand if called that way.
There's a matrix on the post showing you how much armor is worth 1 res depending on how much armor and resistances you have initially. This is what one should use for deciding between a value of resistance or armor.

Yes there was a lot of abusive mechanics during the first week, but DH and Wiz still have it easy anyway.
A2 is hard for ranged anyway, lot of mobs having ridiculous temporary immunes that rush you without you preventing it.
(And people farm a lot of goblins too).
Welcome in Inferno, A1 was the fun part

Blizzard doesn't scale up in damage with attack speed and crit
Hydra does scale up in damage with attack speed and crit
