    Exactly! Spot on!
I love Diablo 3, but the thing is the item hunt is turning me off, big time! Like I said, I did tell my self that I wouldn't be able to get the best items in game and the rarest. But I should get something interesting. I was looking forward to wield some mediocre items and cool unique weapon or armor.

what time period is appropriate for what items? what is mediocre?

people are remembering d2 the way they want to in order to make d3 look bad

you didn't load d2 and within a week have every item you could possibly want

another case of someone playing too much. people are so excited to play d3 that they're going overboard.

stop it! do something else besides playing videos games. if you live in a game you're gonna start having problems with it because you're frying your brain.

if you have hundreds of hours on your account you overdid it

you have to be kinda lucky. every once in awhile i catch an item that just got listed for cheap. the other night i managed to grab some shoulders worth several million for just 400k.

but most of the time i only find the specific stats i want on items listed for 100m or some equally ridiculous number that will never sell

d3 is a good game. there's room for improvement and it's obvious that blizzard will try to improve it. we know that the will be buffing legendaries/sets and fixing a lot of underused class skills. we know that pvp will be added. they've stated they want to do more for endgame activities.

i think d3 is as good as it can be without having a release date landing after hillary clinton's second term

one of the options is a cap. d2 had a cap sort of. it was easy enough to hit 300ish and that was perfectly fine for me so i never bothered swapping.

d3 swapping may work, but i think swappers are missing out on a lot of drops by doing it. i've found hundreds of rares by now from normal monsters and even a handful of sets and legendaries.

integrating a little mf into your regular gear set is a good idea regardless of what they do

any means of swapping gear for a moment to boost mf defeats the purpose of affixes on gear. you're suppose to make a choice. you either choose more dmg, defense, or utility versus extra magic find. that's their whole approach to design in d2 and d3.

i can't see them leaving in place any kind of swapping that works with mf. maybe adding a gear swapping option in general, but it would still have some kind of mf reset or penalty like with #2-4. otherwise they would be leaving in place what they say is a problem...people feeling like they are forced to swap gear whether they like it or not.

d3 isn't an mmo so i don't expect it to have content like WoW. i'm guessing a tiny fraction of people have even killed inferno diablo. if you've spent over a hundred hours on d3 at this point then you've already gotten way more out of your $60 than most games give.

d3 doesn't have a subscription fee so any additional content blizzard ads is a bonus compared to just about any other game

until the xpack is ready i'd be happy to see some new optional dungeons and quests along with class and item tweaks. that doesn't seem too impossible.

plenty of gamers pay for things in a variety of games and have for a very long time. some people are okay with it. some people aren't.

if buying things ruins a game for you then don't do it. if you already did then get rid of the items you bought. either resell them or give them to a friend and start fresh.

posted a message on Magic Find solution. No swap, no nerf, no BS.
there needs to be a reason to keep on mf gear all the time instead of potentially having more dmg/utility/whatever. the whole swapping gear before a kill is silly.

if they limit mf so it isn't useful for swapping that's fine with me. they intend to buff mf somehow as well so i'd rather wait and see what they're going to do with it.

i don't mean this in a negative way, but a lot of the complaints sound like people wanting their virginity back. no game for the rest of your life will ever satisfy you the way games did before. no matter how good the game is you're going to get bored quicker. you're going to burn out if you play them as much as you played years ago. when you hit your 30s and 40s it's going to get worse.

you're never going to get another d2 in the same way suzy won't be seeing her hymen return. it's gone. start playing d3 15-20 hours a week at most. maybe even less than that. let blizzard get some patches rolled out. pace yourself. don't spend thousands of hours on it like Force did.

we don't know what blizzard knows, obviously. the last article i read about spending money on games was related to farmville. ten percent of their players spend money and only one percent account for almost half their revenue.

that may not be what d3 does, we don't know. but, i would be shocked if it was much higher than that. maybe 10-20% have spent 5 or 10 bucks of money they actually deposited...not counting whatever they earned from selling that went into blizzard bucks. i imagine a very small number of people have spent hundreds of their money.

unless blizzard comes out and says that their entire player base has used the rmah, i'd have a hard time believing the rmah has ruined anything about the game. it was only a few weeks ago that blizzard reported only 1.9% of players (accounts?) even had a character in inferno. most of the bitching people do on forums is because of their experience with inferno and getting upgrades there.

as usual, a very small portion of the player base is doing most of the bitching on forums. same thing with WoW. i have two character in inferno, but i play more than most people. my real life friend that also plays games is more casual. she doesn't even have a character in hell yet because she's trying all the classes and taking her time while still taking care of real life responsibilities. i imagine the vast majority of d3 owners are closer to her than me.

they don't get burned out and quit because they didn't spend 100+ hours playing d3 the first week it came out like i'm guessing a lot of people on this forum did. if you add up the hours that Force played d3 beta, d3 release, and making videos or doing podcasts about d3...how many hours do you think that would be? 1,000? 3,000? it's a shit ton i'm sure. i'm guessing it doesn't matter how good a game is. if you spend that kind of time on it you're gonna have a problem.

you know how many people have been using the rmah? i must have missed where blizzard released the figures on that. if the rmah is killing d3 then that means everyone is buying from the rmah, right?

how in the world could people get tired of playing d3? oh, it's because they spent hundreds of hours on it in only a month. i think in found the problem. if you spend 40+ hours a week on a game you're turning it into a job instead of a relaxing hobby.

Force spent what...years?...living and breathing d3 waiting for it to come out. He played the d3 beta who knows how many hours. He then plays d3 release to death as well.

of course he's ready to stop...i think a lot of people whining on forums have this same problem. for those with no job/school they play the game 10+ hours a day and then wonder why they get tired/bored of it. for those with actual responsibilities, they could still clock in 7-8 hours a day after job/school i suppose and have the same thing happen.

what game could you play to death like that and not get burned?

gear swapping makes it pointless to have mf on gear. the point of it all is that you choose to use mf over something else. not that you get everything plus mf.

they can't leave it as is or anything close
