It looks like each class is getting class specific weapons, and these are the Barbarian's.

EDIT: out my nonsense that D3 Barbs could dual-wield 2h swords and axes and the like.

Spending only 20 fury every 30 seconds, you WILL be full of fury. I guess this is the build Berserker Rage is for, but 20% seems a little low - I'd be surprised if the developers allow a build that ignores the resource mechanism to put out as much damage as one that does not.

Cheap game hax of not letting you use your ability on a boss vs. the overpowered nature of pulling Big D around.

    Which will it be?

Perhaps a high resist rate on bosses could work, given the cooldown?

posted a message on Fury: Generators vs Spenders
Looking at the skill calculator, Barbarian skills are divided into skills which generate fury, skills which cost fury, and the cooldowns. This immediately presents the choice of choosing lots of generating skills, and never worrying about fury, or choosing lots of spending skills, with the potential for more damage, but at the price of being starved for fury. Perhaps these will end up being sustained vs. burst type decisions.

In the end, I suppose most builds will have a primary (or two) generator and a primary (or two) spender. Whether the extra skills are builders or spenders will simply depend on the skill effect your looking for.

Anyways, already the number of main playstyles seems quite large, with many more variations possible by swapping in/out different cooldowns or similar skills for each other, then choosing traits to balance your weaknesses, etc. Add in rune effects, and oh my...

Pretend there was a question mark in there somewhere, and tell me your precious thoughts...

Yea, where's that post about the 'hide helmet' feature? Think I'm regretting my 'not necessary' stance...

75 spirit is VERY spammable once we get higher lvl and get more Spirit/s or per hit item effects.

I love speculation, but this sentence is stated as a fact. Either you have been working at Blizzard for a while and playing the game, or you made this up.

We can guess, but we have simply not seen what mechanisms Blizzard will use to balance the classes. I do not forsee +Spirit on kill, etc. affixes growing out of control.

The image stripped of the teal is very nice, and spooky, but I think the lack of color would wear on the eyes after a bit... things would become monotonous too quickly. I get a Diablo feel from the first one.

And, looking at that D2 screen, I'm instantly amazed at how much COLOR is present. It seems less Diablo-ish than D3, which is bollocks, because that is what defines Diablo, in a quite literal sense.

I like the model (as it is) that does not force anyone to play through the story more than once just to see all the abilities of their class.

posted a message on Start Inferno w/ Act IV unlocked?
I am assuming that, given the stated purpose of Inferno, that characters would start Inferno with the ability to go anywhere in the game. Quests marked complete, waypoints activated. Otherwise you are forced to play straight through (again), which may eliminate 'runs', but isn't really just an open playground.

Has anyone seen any info on this? (edit spelling)

    posted a message on Hostility
Open world PvP doesn't work as well in Diablo as it does in an MMO with a large, continuous world. The progression through the world is fairly linear in Diablo, so there are not really 'chance encounters' to PvP. There's also not really anything to fight over, especially with everyone getting their own drops.

I'm happy with the PvP options in D3. Maybe a couple more formats in the future, but I don't see a lack of hostility as a drawback at all.
