Ok what it boiled down to was:
    • Read my previous post. It seems like some people glossed over it.
    • I'm happy most of you are happy about the change, and I know you're going to love the game.
    • Those few of you who don't like it, you'll love the game too because you're wrong. ;)
    • Item pools are not limited by Act, or Boss, or anything like that. While you'll have a better chance to get better items in Act IV Inferno, you could get those same items in Act I, or even Hell.
    • Our item pool philosophy is that you can break an urn and get the best item in the game - it's all a matter of chance. Running more difficult areas and taking on more difficult enemies will not always be the most efficient way to find upgrades.
    • Previously, Inferno difficulty was mlvl 61 across all of Inferno, and now it starts at mlvl 61 and ramps up quickly in Act I and ends somewhere around 65 (?) in Act IV. We've only increased the difficulty.
    • I'm aware of internal bets on how many months it will take someone to beat Inferno.
    • A flat Inferno of mlvl 61 had a small curb of difficulty, and once that was over you had nowhere else to progress and no reason to. That's boredom.
    • Boredom doesn't generally come from content repetition, it comes from lack of ability to progress, or ease of progression.
    • By having a sharp increase in difficulty in Inferno we can encourage progression without having a brick wall of difficulty.
I think that was about it. In any case, as I said, I know the vast majority of you are excited about the game, the change we made, and trying to progress in Inferno. Just don't feel bad when you have to go back to Hell. :)

    Edit:

Bashiok has said the following via Twitter as well:

Statements in the form of, "gib bow ama."

Runewords which were impossible to get without duping.

Tiny inventory space filled with charms.

Losing items transferred in "drop" games since there was no shared stash.

    Ninja-looting.

Needing multiple accounts for item storage.

    Having to find trade games.

Trading for SOJ's and gems since gold was worthless.

Duped items which disappeared without warning.

    Endless boss runs.

Having to level a new character for every new build idea.

Very few proficient builds - and just about two dozen viable builds...

Stat points - STR for gear, dex for block, rest vit

    Open World PvP

Mundane leveling process - 8 player Tristram Runs -> 8 player tomb runs -> 8 player baal runs -> 8 player nightmare baal runs -> 8 player Hell CS runs until ~80 then Hell Baal runs x15000

    The Maggot Lair

    All of Act III

All players learn the same spells via books (D1)

Godly Plate of The Whale (Was a hacked item in D1 - The game can't spawn it in a legit manner)

    Wisps

    Bone Fetishes

Fire Enchanted sometimes one-shotting you upon death explosion

    Horadric Cube recipes

    Double/Triple Immunities

    The resolution

Shrines that don't tell you what they do (Talking about D1)

+1-3 Skill items instead of +5-20% Damage/Radius/Etc (So glad they changed this)

Rune-words giving every class skills that aren't from their class

    Everybody using Mana

    Open B.net

    Potion Spamming

Bots (Both chat and running bots)

    Ith Bugs and similar bugs

    Rushing

    Bolts and Arrows

Ethereal Throwing Weapons (Sad that we don't have throwing weapons though :()

Synergy with skills (I don't mean how well they work together...I mean boosting the damage of other spells!)

    Lightning Beetles in A2

Lagging into Duriel's room -> Death (Remedied a little while after D2 came out due to technological advancement)

    Gold was worthless

Stamina sucked ass at lower levels

As a Barb the game was honestly auto attack fever until you had enough mana leech + damage to stay capped

Iron Maiden as a Barb/Pally in Hardcore

Minions of Destruction sometimes kept knocking you back and you couldn't hit them

You eventually out-leveled the monsters in A5 Hell

Cow portal couldn't be opened after your King was slain while you were in the game

    Runes completely out-performed Gems

Everybody tele-ported straight to the boss

    Attack Rating and Defense system

    A lot of useless skills

Gold cap for vendoring based on Act

    Fixed it for you!

    Quote from Bloodyvain

well since the trigger happy mod locked my topic disgussing if it was a nerf or a buff, to force every single disgussion about it in a flooded topic, Ill just say I hope that the monsters got harder then orginially or its just a nerf... I hope atleast the last act is harder then the orginal.. or this is just a nerf.. and bad news.

Nuvian is far from trigger happy. He locked it because there was another topic discussing the change to Inferno - and it was literally RIGHT BELOW the one you created.

Edit: We don't need that many topics discussing the recent change to Inferno on the forum. There's really only a need for one - thus, his actions.

Edit 2: And just for future reference - if I remember right - you're not supposed to talk about any moderation in a public venue...I'm not sure if this counts for situations like this, but I thought I would tell you just in case. :3

I think we're all wasting a lot of finger-energy not heeding the advice found in Maka's signature. :)
Indeed :) let's stop responding to the hypocrite in general. Nothing good can come of it.

We're talking about the guy who is mad because he can't aim simple little darts, right? I find it completely funny that he believes there is more evidence showing that Corpse Spiders would be better for end-game than Poison Darts. Considering that he is a complete hypocrite and doesn't impose the same set of rules upon himself as he does us - it's really no wonder. I find it horribly disgusting and appalling that he continues to argue with the mindset that he's automatically right without any evidence.

Point: The argument is asinine because neither side has evidence nor any validations to prove whether one is better than the other. It is all baseless ASSumptions. If he wants to argue that a terrible skill will be better - then by all means, let him. I'll personally never waste a skill-slot on a skill that is such tripe, though.

My $0.02: Beta is raging because he feels his opinion is the God almighty truth and factual science when it comes to Diablo III.

    Secret hint: It's not.

    Quote from GladHeHasBeta

herpderp sythrasz. how about a little wager? may 15th we both roll WD's first and ill use leapers the whole game as my main attack and you use poison dart. we will see who completes inferno the fastest and who dies the most. whoever has the best ratio wins the other persons gear? i mean if your so confident in your darts you wont mind it at all because you'll obvsly win bro

I can't place enough emphasis on how stupid this argument is. Considering you have SIX skills - yes, SIX, and not one - this argument is completely flawed in every way and utterly retarded. How about, if this is a pissing contest and you want to impose such idiotic rules, we go even further and this is your only rule: You can only use Corpse Spiders and no other skills.

That's how stupid your argument is. It's not ONE skill that makes or breaks our arsenal - it's the fluidity between the skills we choose.

Dunno what you're doing wrong, but I hardly ever miss with my darts. That being a non-issue then, the darts are superior. Your post only defends spiders as being better for bad players.

lulz? im saying mobs CAN move out of the path. obviously spamming them constantly you will hit stuff. and in later difficulties when mobs are much smarter and move much faster it wont be nearly as easy as super-easy mode beta. ive seen you've started to post in the WD forums more and you talk out of your ass a lot and dont really know what your talking about. when i talk about anything with skills im ALWAYS talking about end-game, because arguing about anything before that is pointless and retarded. most of what will work in normal easy mode wont be possible in hell/inferno, obviously. so do some thinking first bud

posted a message on Kony 2012
People who act like spreading a video or liking a video is beneficial in any way are sorely mistaken. It doesn't make you a humanitarian by spreading the URL of a video.

More interesting information is that Kony has not committed crimes for a few years - at least publically known now. He left Uganda around 2008. Most of the stuff stated is just bullshit propaganda from the United States.

A lot of Ugandans will even tell you that they are not whatsoever threatened by Kony. He's a thing of the past. Should he be brought to justice? Sure. People shouldn't waste money in an already troubling economic time though. Especially if he isn't publically committing the crimes anymore. We need to quit being such a vindictive wasteful society.

It really isn't beneficial. Just stop.

Edit: Plus like others have stated*, somewhere ~33% of the donations go to the cause. The rest is pocketed.

Well, I was going through the official website for the 26539th time, and I found this screenshot :

    http://eu.media.bliz.../ss61-hires.jpg

I think it's pretty safe to say now that strings are confirmed

    I see's no strings!
    How about now?

    ;)

They look like cracks in the floor to me..

Edit: I see the shadow of the string on the one bow, but it seems that one of the bows is MISSING a string? The other ones aren't? That's what's confusing me.

Edit 2: Okay yeah I see them now. They weren't there when I looked at them. Weird. Guess that happens when you get into a fist fight the day after one of your close relatives die, and then two days later, another one has a stroke. -.-...Sorry, just /ranting.
