How is a melee sorc in D2 stronger than a melee Wiz in D3?


Gear has no attribute requirements.

Str == Int for damage purposes.

They both increase your damage (depending on your class).


How you can so ignorantly say you can't "stat" to be a melee Wizard in D3?

Eh...I've only been with a handful of people and I've unconditionally loved somebody I'm not with for almost six years. I've tried moving past it, seeing people, etc., but it's just not something I enjoy. It really sucks loving somebody you may never have - but it's part of life!

I agree with the people who posted that - but not in the same manner. It's not THAT bad. Think about this: Instead of them promoting their game and asking us TO SPREAD THE WORD so we can obtain some exclusive (btw, it takes like 2 minutes) items - they COULD charge us 420 Microsoft points - or $5. They aren't doing that. The majority of game developers now release an insane amount of DLC for every little thing like this. Blizzard is promoting their own game - and they're CELEBRATING. It has been FIFTEEN years since Diablo came out on Dec. 31st, 1996.

Taking note of that - it's been nearly 12 years since Diablo II came out (June 29th, 2000).

This is a huge celebration for one of their franchises. They want us to feel happy - and celebrate with us.

This is a nod to those of US who have FOLLOWED development - and want to share with our friends. If you're a casual / haven't followed development - it's the way the cookie crumbles.

You have to deal with it.

Let me ask you this, just in case you want a TL:DR.


Instead of complaining about promotions where you receive content for free - maybe you should be thankful.

I've been following the development since the game was announced on June 28th, 2008 @ WWI. I've watched every interview, and read every tweet/blue post.

I REALLY can't remember specific posts - but I can tell you for sure that they've said it numerous times.

And Nuvian: They don't want any kind of ranking systems at all - and especially for PvP. They don't want the co-op to "suffer".

If I could remember specific videos, minute marks, etc, at which any of this said - I would link it to you. The only thing I can tell you is that it is out there - and it has been confirmed. It was actually confirmed a LONG time ago, as well.

All i know is i would rather have my barb in a barbaric looking armor than running around in demon cosplay. And thats why i think transmog would be a good option for diablo 3.

Logged onto the Diablo III launch site and created one last sigil just for grins, and I FINALLY got an email confirming that I had done this. I hope that those who haven't gotten this but participated will still get their sigil but just to play it safe, go do it now, you have 20 minutes before the next one starts!

- duel

Diablo 3 (as all other Diablo games) is a single player hack and slash RPG with Multiplayer and PvP components. If that doesn't appeal to you, then perhaps you shouldn't buy the game.

Hostility has been explained to death, but since you didn't bother reading the other threads (or so I assume since you're still complaining) I'll explain it again. Hostility is a bad system. It was primarily used to grief other players. When used in a non-griefing way, it was generally used for duels, FFA, and Team PvP...all of which will likely make it into the Arena system at some point. In addition to this, Diablo 3 is balanced around all players focusing on progressing through content. A hostility system would essentially stall the game, essentially griefing the other players if you and a friend decide to duel. All in all hostility is a bad concept for Diablo 3.

Duels will likely make it into the Arena system. Blizzard has already stated that they desire a system for players to duel. It only makes sense that they will be given a spot alongside the other Arena types.

Gear rating, public arena rating, and other such public stats don't add anything positive to the game. Those stats are generally used to harass other players and tend to create tension within the community. Diablo 3 isn't meant to be some hardcore, elitist, ego fest. Its meant to be played cooperative primarily and features like this don't lend well to cooperation.

Ladder doesn't serve a good purpose in Diablo 3. Like the other stats, it only serves to fuel people's egos.


Honestly, use the search feature...a lot of these issues have been brought up, bashed to death, and put to rest. If you must have those features to enjoy Diablo 3...then don't buy it. Sorry, but Diablo 3 just isn't designed for that kind of play...and it shouldn't be. Leave the ego out of the game and help smash the minions of hell.
