Emil, im gona have to ask you to stop complicating threads xD
Btw, what if...
Level 1-10: no effect.
Level 11-20: A small visual effect that does no damage.
Level 21-30: A slightly bigger visual effect with minor damage output.
Level 31-40: Gets bigger and better.
etc, etc....
Then when you level up from lets say 90 to 91, you get a huge ass effect that pwns monsters and explodes / melts / freezes them etc... And because it takes a lot of time to level up in the 90's ( i assume ), these effects will keep their "Epic" feeling and wont lose it... AMIRITE?

Credge posted a message on Could The Skill Tree Be Gone Forever?Posted in: News & AnnouncementsQuote from "Seth" »As far as I know, they don't completely revamp how the skill trees work every twenty days, and we've essentially had the same skill tree system for years now in Diablo II. Why not?
Because we have a system that works, and works well.
You missed the analogy.
You don't change things simply 'cuz'. You change things when there is a problem. And, generally, if there's a problem you first start by changing small things so you can observe how it impacts the game.
Torchlight did just this. They changed the trees to being tiers. Same system, similar mechanic, except now stockpiling points to dump in to one skill doesn't work and those lower skills, even if it's only one point spent in to them, actually matter because you use those skills to level up.
So, why don't you go out and buy a keyboard every 20 days? Because you have one that works and you don't need to buy a new keyboard every 20 days. To compare the keyboard analogy to Diablo time, I've had this keyboard since Diablo 1 and it still functions just as good as it did then.
When they say "We're removing trees" it's essentially like saying "We're removing keys from keyboards." There's no reason to do it other than to add another dot on to the back of the box.
- Over 400 types of monsters
- Learn what happened after the events of Diablo 2
- More streamlined skill system
- LOOT
Quote from "Tyrus" »We are talking about diablo 3 here.. not a keyboard. And im thinking D2 has been out for a bit longer than 20 days.. correct me if im wrong tho. =)
What im saying here is a lil change after 9 years 5 months and... 20days?(i think thats right im horrible at math) of playing a game, wont hurt a bit.
It's an analogy there chief.
As an aside, I don't understand why people on the internet have a hard time grasping analogies. They're one of the simplest tools for putting things in to perspective.
I could have used cars and it would have been the same thing. Or televisions. Or houses. Or anything for that matter. The result is the same. Sometimes you have to upgrade what you have so it works, but you don't have to completely change it. There's a reason houses still have roofs, cars still have engines, and televisions still have A/V cable inputs.
Look, you can be excited for a brand new skill system, that's great. Until I know what the skill system is going to be like, I'm going to resent it because I know from years and years of playing games with this exact system that it works. It works so well that any ARPG I've played that hasn't had that system...
Actually no, I've never played an ARPG that hasn't had skill trees that didn't come out before Diablo 2.

cherd posted a message on More Hopes Dashed, 1.13 Delay Going StrongPosted in: News & Announcements
That's just it, WE did not create the situation! Blizzard came out and announced that a patch was coming soon. They created the situation, They intentionally created the hype. We get excited and then the patch doesn't come, and it doesn't come, then it doesn't come again. We get excited about D3, then it doesn't come. All the while we are left in the dark as to what is going on.Quote from "luc1027" »You all complain about it, but blizzard is not forced to do that, they don't obtain cash for, they use resource for us and you all cry !!
All I'm saying is, don't get our hopes up about something that cannot be delivered as promised. And, if our interest is supposed to be sustained, then be more transparent about what is going on. The ultra-secrecy is confounding to me. Why can't they be more interactive?
I don't know whether they do these things intentionally, I am seriously beginning to wonder. I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that unexpected hitches cause delays that could not have been foreseen. But their resistance to share meaningful information tends to make me believe otherwise. Do they refuse to share information because there is nothing to share? Are people dropping the ball? Is the whole team dropping the ball? Are these people really motivated to get work done in an efficient manner?
I don't know what is going on. But, I do know that in my line of work this type of performance would not be tolerated. Missing deadlines by years SHOULD NOT be the NORM. When you make a promise to your customers, your first priority should be to make good on that promise. Unfortunately for us, Blizzard does not seem to follow these philosophies. I suppose that they do not feel pressured to do so.
The problem is that they have us by the balls, and they know it!! -

skyknight posted a message on Where Will Tar Pits Fit In?Clearly there should be arms bursting out of the ground in grave yards. What about having crazy burned looking freaks bursting out of the bubbling tar pits? Also, if the monster in the first gameplay trailor can bite off your head as it kills you, i think there should be a death mechanic to the freaky tar pit monsters killing you too.Posted in: News & Announcements -

Morden79 posted a message on What is wrong with WD = necro ?You guys fail to amaze me. Here comes my two cents.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
First thing is first, the WD is not Necro 2.0. First off, the necro didn't have half of the crazy spells the WD has, such as Skull of Flame, Firebats, Plague of Toads, etc. This whole Necro = WD idea is based on individual ignorance passed around as theory, and all these sheep just seem to follow. Your basis of them being too similar is that they BOTH use a form of black magic, they both summon something, and that stupid wall of zombies skill (and for all we know that might not make it into final production for that very reason).
The big problem is, you cease to realize that they are truly very different. Necro had a lot to do with Bones and Necromancy. He summoned skellys and ressurected fallen creatures to do his bidding. His spells were mostly all some sort of bone or poison attack. He was also the leading Debuff class.
So far, Witch Doctor hardly has a debuff other than Mass Confusion and Horrify, which are more like offensive and time buying spells as opposed to debuffs. Also, where Necro focuses on direct bone and poison spell, the Witch Doctor focuses on very indirect and somewhat mundane magic at times. He uses a lot of Fire techniques, something unheard of to the entirely black magic Necro.
To be very honest they would fit just fine side by side, especially if Blizzard updated Necro to be something a little more modernized to fit the Diablo 3 title. They can and honestly may easily be implemented together simultaniously. Blizzard has already stated (in order to calm Necro fans) that they are definately looking toward him as a possible Expansion character, they just don't want him in the opening line up.
And as for this whole " Necro is 120" crap... Even if the Necro was 120, I bet he could still be moving along just fine. Hes a fucking Necro for christ sakes, half the necros from TONS of series turn into an effin Lich. They just don't die of old age from working with the Necromantic arts. This could easily be associated with the game. That, or you know they could just make A NEW NECRO. Its not like there is only one... There are entire sects of these people and we will probably see a few Necro NPCs when DIablo 3 first comes out. There is absolutely nothing stopping them from making a new character (lorically) to fit the same class as our previous well known white haired hero. Plus they would have to make a chick as well, so they might as well.
As you can probably tell, I highly doubt Necro is down for the count just yet. I wish people would have a little fucking faith in the developers for once instead of crying about how "Blizz ruined my Necro with WD". Your points are moot. They can still easily exist together, in fact Jay Wilson has even mentioned that they are making the Witch Doctor in a way that they CAN exist together. Its part of their design plan to leave a very sweet (necro) option open for later expansions if they choose to bring him out. If they are ALREADY planning ahead for this, chances are they won't let that go to waste... - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

So following your logic, if people treat you like crap, that means you are crap?
Believe in yourself dude...its all in your head- if you believe yourself already defeated before a fight, you will be defeated.
Equality just as freedom are ideals we climb up to. If you believe its just a guise, I am quite sad for you.
Relating to the subject being discussed...Promoting cheating is like lowering the human-being even more. Pathetic.
As for genetics as an explanation for cheating. Its is just an....excuse for being weak-minded and dishonest...whatever your libido. Temptation and opportunities will always be there but in the end its your choice. And that choice will make up who you are instead of being a mere outcome of your genes.
