posted a message on Death needs to be punishable ideas
    They could do something like:

1 death = -50% experience gain in current game
    2 deaths = -100%
    3 deaths = -200%
    4 deaths = -400%

After 10 mins with no deaths this is reset.

So if you are running around on MP10 with 4 players and so have over 1000% exp gain but you are dying all the time... then not only is this an incentive for you to move to a lower MP level but it also stops leachers a little bit too..

fyi i thought this up in 5 seconds so it is not really that well thought out..

posted a message on Diablo III: I remember when...
I remember when Runes were going to be tiered/have Ranks and be similar to gems

I remember having my snake/bat/pig follower scroll thing, picking up all my gold and then Blizz decided to remove it to make pickup radius more beneficial...

I remember when i used to see a lot more dfans mods/news guys/wiki people around these forums prerelease (Ophion, PhrozenDragon, Don_guilletine, ScyberDragon, Sixen etc) - these guys helped get me really excited for D3 everyday when I was but a lurker in these parts..

posted a message on Is anyone still playing this game?.
I currently have only a few small carrots pulling me to D3 and none are item related.. which is sad for a loot based game.

The main carrot Paragon levelling since it will be beneficial when loot 2.0/RoS hits..
However after doing 1 run of about 30mins, I am just bored of the grind and log off and play something like Dota 2 or Fifa 14.

I am having a rest at the moment but am keeping a close eye on updates/Blizzcon

posted a message on D3 COMMUNITY Trade Market - BETA
I enjoyed and profited off the safe and secure AH that blizzard built.. But I will never use a 3rd party site for selling items.
with the removal of the AH you may think it is an opportunity to fill the gap.. But i think that gap will be slightly filled with a larger BOA system that will severely limit the amount of trading that will occur in game.

posted a message on Requiem For A Dream.
D2 had plenty wrong with it from my point of view. Things that were never fixed because of poor design. Stat points were stupid they way they were because there was a right way and a wrong way. Economy was a train wreck, gold not worth anything, dupes everywhere and bots jumping in and out of games promoting their websites every god damn second.

D3 has already improved on 2 of those points due to the auction house ... Love it or hate it, it solved those issues but created some others in the process- but those will be solved by making item sinks for top tier gear (enchanting/BOA). I hope that the d3 stat point system with the paragon 2.0 that gets added will be far far superior than d2s customisation.. D2 was not some holy grail of a game like some fans think it was. It was an awesome game but I think you ignore it's issues a lot. Thank god the d3 devs did not make me do 1000 butcher runs!

There are some good things that will hopefully come from them doing the console version
    1) They have more money coming in, had good reviews and so there is even more incentive to create more D3 expansions in future. Maybe we will get 3 Expansions instead of 2 (if they had initially planned it that way..) . Maybe that = more staff can be hired etc
    2) Now that the Console version is released maybe they can use the extra staff they hired for the Console to help with the PC loot 2.0/RoS development.
    3) Hopefully they have acquired some lessons learned while working on the console version so that loot 2.0 would be even better than if they had never had a console version.

You take the opinion that PC has had to take a back seat while console has been developed and I do agree, however in some ways it can be a good a thing and I do not mind waiting. I waited a hell of a long time for D3 Vanilla, I think I can sit tight with what I have until they are ready to make polished changes to the game to make it as good as it can be.

I love d3 for what it is now. I play it each day I come home after work for about an hour and I have fun. I am excited about the future because it looks even better.

I am sorry to see you go coz you have given me a good few laughs on this forum.

I think you are wrong and hopefully that will be proven 'soon'...

Every legendary shown said "bound to account", that's a complete fail and not listening to the community at all. Just remove the Auction House if you install the expansion and call it a day.

p.s. In order to comment on the youtube video, i had to remove the words "Auction House". Wow...

p.p.s I called loot 2.0 with the expac a few weeks back.

The AH was a solution to the Botting Spam and 3rd Party sites scamming people. It is still needed for that purpose so it should never be removed - but the BEST items in the game should only be able to be found not bought/traded! A BOA model is that solution to the issue that the AH created. BOTH need to Co-exist

I couldn't disagree more, it was implemented so blizzard got more of the profit pie after the initial sale. It's their own fault for giving gold a "value". People had NO problems trading for 13 years and counting in diablo 2. If you went through a 3rd party site, that was a RISK you were either Dumb enough or Brave enough to attempt. BOA is completely ludicrous, how am i supposed to trade with my friends?

Diablo is a loot FINDING game.. so I think FINDING the BEST items is what makes the most sense in Diablo. Diablo is not a loot BUYING/TRADING game.. to me anyway. FINDING is a lot more exciting than Trading..

    Quote from BlackSheep13

I had fun thinking of ways to make every skill, rune and passive viable for the Demon Hunter and hope they get some love.

I think the point of the thread was to change/alter the functions of skills a bit more than just pure number tweaking

I really like the idea of combining Runes instead of just number tweaking!

    Magic Missile

    · Charged Blast + Seeker = Charged Seeker
o Magic missile does 250% weapon damage and tracks to the nearest target
    · Penetrating Blast + Split = Penetrating Split
o Magic missile splits into 3 and each does 70% weapon damage and can pierce through targets

    Arcane Orb

    · Obliteration + Celestial Orb = Obliteration Orb
o Arcane Orb does 260% weapon damage and pierces through targets
    · Arcane Nova + Tap the Source = Tap the Nova Source
o Arcane Orb does 200% damage to all enemies within 20 Yards and costs 20 AP

    Wave of Force

    · Force Affinity + Exploding Wave = Exploding Affinity Wave
o Reduce casting cost to 15 Arcane Power and the cooldown is reduced to 9 seconds and enemies hit have a 40% chance to cause a smaller Wave of Force that deals 100% weapon damage as Physical and knocks back enemies caught in its wake.
    · Forceful Wave + Teleporting Wave = Forceful Teleporting Wave
o Increases damage to 260% weapon damage as Physical. Enemies caught in the wave are teleported to within 2 yards of the Wizard

    Electrocute

    · Chain Lightning + Forked Lightning = Forked Chain Lightning
o Increases the maximum number of enemies that can be electrocuted to 6. Critical Hits release 4 charged bolts in random directions, dealing 55% weapon damage as Lightning to any targets hit.
    · Lightning Blast + Arc Lightning = Lightning Arc Blast
o Blast a cone of lightning that causes 115% weapon damage as Lightning to all affected targets. Streaks of lightning come out from the Arc that pierce through targets, hitting all enemies for 86% weapon damage as Lightning.
