posted a message on Letter to My Wife
I went out and got fixings to make my wife dinner, got her favorite flowers (roses and sunflowers), and wrote this letter. For some reason I wrote it in third person... She works full time and is starting her summer class tonight that runs for 3 1/2 hours a day, 4 days a week for 3 weeks. I on the other hand have some free time off work before our summer business kicks up in 2 weeks. Feel free to change the specifics and use it as a template.

Anyone else prepare their loved ones for the coming end-days?

    May 14, 2012

    Dearest <Her name>,

At midnight on the eve of the 15th day in May the long awaited PC video game “Diablo III” will be released upon the world. This marks the first time a sequel from this franchise was birthed since 2001, when with much lack of sleep your current husband spent many a high school night playing Diablo II and its expansion. You can imagine how much anticipation has built up over the eleven years since the last installment of the story. The last time your loving and adoring partner enjoyed such a midnight release was in 2006 for the release of the first World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade. Fun was had by all, and yea there was joy. This is not an event that he celebrates often, but it is something that he loves to do.

Over the next few days, your husband will be overly happy with his alone time. He also realizes that you will be very stressed between having to both work and then travel directly to school and take classes for several more hours. In observance of this fact, he has promised to:
    • Keep all areas of the manor clean of all dishes and debris. In particular, the kitchen will be kept spotless at all times.
    • Pay all bills on time.
    • Feed the resident canine twice a day and take him out for elimination at least five times per day, relatively evenly spaced apart, and more times upon the canine's request.
    • Perform any laundering services required.
    • Devote the evenings to the resident Lady of the Apartment's pleasure, which may include but not be limited to the following at her request and until her request for sleep or dismissal of the husband:
      • Sweet loving.
      • Foot massage.
      • Back rub.
      • Television or moving viewing.
      • A drawn bath with wine and candlelight.
    • Prepare at designated times:
      • 6am – Coffee
      • 6:30am – Breakfast
      • 6:50am – Bagged lunch to take to work
      • 6:30pm-7:30pm – Dinner (Dependant upon the Lady's class departure time)
He is also pleased to announce that when playing single player the game has the ability to be instantly paused, the same feature that was lacking in Starcraft II and thus became a source of many complaints of the Lady.

    I Love You,

    <My Name>
    <Signed>

posted a message on Pfft, I got your Launch Day Preparation Guide!
    Step 1:
Make sure you can find Diablo 3 when the time comes.

Bonus points if you see my pointer above the Barbarian's weapon hand...

    Step 2:
That's right, you need something to point with and so why not celebrate the impending Ponyocalypse with your own Rainbow Dash custom cursor!

    Step 3:
Get your build ready. You gotta know how to spend your skill points... err stat poi... er... oh hell just pick skills using http://random.org.
    http://us.battle.net...VgTb!ceZ!ZcaZcb
Conflag and no fire skills? Min-max at its finest!

    Step 4:
You'll need supplies to survive being barricaded inside your room/house/apartment with zombies/neighbors banging on the door looking for a cup of brown sugar/brains. Make sure you have the sustenance to survive the days of isolation.

    Add your own.

posted a message on Release Date has never been closer
This is much better than all those TWO WEEKS LEFT/ONE MONTH LEFT threads. The title of this thread will always be correct until release.

I say ditch the pizza rolls. To messy. You need dryer food to not dirty the mouse or keyboard.

posted a message on Inferno will be watered down(dont worry)
    Quote from Ruppgu

If anything, I fear that it will be too hard (like cthun) and more importantly, not balanced very well. It's starting to sound like they didn't even test Inferno properly if NOT A SINGLE DAMN PERSON beat inferno to date. Talk about a horrible job in testing. I was disgusted by that remark.

If they treat testing like that, I'm also very worried about how polished Acts 2,3, and 4 will be.

Thinking like this is very ignorant of how testing actually works. They don't just implement the game, then have an internal beta and say "go get it!" and if nobody ever gets to the content say "oh well" /shipitanyways.

They develop the content. Then they use developer tools to create characters with gear appropriate to how they feel they should have at that stage of the game. Then they try that encounter and see if it's balanced. Then they release an internal build where characters have to be leveled. I'm sure they've had people on premade Inferno geared characters test the Act IV boss encounter in Inferno and beat it. What they have NOT had is someone in an internal build have a fresh character leveled up, with self-found/purchased gear progress through the entire game in a legit manner and beat the Inferno Act IV boss. This should be common sense...

So tonight was the NFL draft if you're into this, and since I saw the San Francisco 49ers made some wild pick I decided to research who the guy was... not sure this has passed the Wikipedia quality control yet...

Recently there was a blue post saying higher level versions of those affixes would be much stronger graphically.

    Edit:
Took a while but found it:
