posted a message on Diablo 2 Runeword Search

Nice one! I'm using firefox and the "input-group cb" div, the one with "Include Ladder Runewords" only looks okay at min-width: 992px. Seems like the element is floating on the "form-group well searchWell"'s padding @992px. That whole form box div thingy seems to behave weird over all when going between width's. I'm using the newest firefox.

Other than that it looks really useful!

posted a message on Question: Why would you even want a D4 annoucment at Blizzcon 2016?

I don't want a D4 :) Improve D3 and I'm happy! Also, 2-4 years goes by fast if you have something to do, work, hobbies, whatnot so I'm fine with a wait time.

posted a message on D3planner wrong multipliers?

    What has been said before^^

100% is always what you have, anything else is an increase or decrease of X.

Still, what's the reason "Skill multiplier: 500%" counts as 5? Should it not be 6?

posted a message on Making fun builds viable should be easier (LoN discussion)

I think the main point is for specific builds. For instance, where you need very high CDR. It could be very time consuming to find decent ancient legendary items with high CDR rolls along with other complementary stats. If normal items gave 50%/2% then you'd still be looking for the ancient but you'd also be able to play the build decently. Hell, any % damage increase is better than 0%.

It's currently a all or nothing due to how normal legendary items are treated. Make it all or some for a smoother transition.

    Quote from soulzek»

I think you overestimate how hard it is to get gear, even ancients, in this game. A casual player can most certainly finish a LoN set before seasons end, or whenever they want on nonseason.

"Before seasons end" is quite long time though^^ I completed my journey and took gr75 within 2 weeks (played like 5-6 days straight during that time) and I don't think I've anything remotely close to a LoN set. That's 70-84 hours spent (14h/day). If I'm only able to play at max 2h per day then it would take me 35+ days to get there. That's just too long for someone playing casual. Mind you, I'm not saying it should be easier to get maxed, I'm simply thinking the threshold should be less steep. Say you've 6/13 ancient, that's 600% increase damage. If normals gave 50% you'd end up with 950% which makes the build much more viable but far from optimal. Maybe 25% would be a better number but whatever, I'm just making points :P
    Quote from Kamui_1337»

also what is your definition of viable? Any build can run on normal, there for it is viable.

I think whatever your goal is. If t7 is the go to for farming then if the build can do t7 it would be viable. In my case if a build can run t13 and/or is super fun it's viable^^ or I could just push it as long as I can in GR, then it doesn't really matter.

I guess easiest way would be by letting LoN give a reduced amount of damage increase for non-ancient. Like "100% increase damage for every ancient item equipped, non-ancient gives you half amount".

posted a message on What's the most efficient Torment to farm now?

I guess it depends on you and what you find fun. Me myself think anything under 7 min is fine, be Rifts or Grifts. I'm doing T13 at the moment, much more interesting as a Shenlong solo monk build since things survive a little longer.

What is "efficient" for you? What is fun for you? Can you combine them?

The stash tab is just something extra. I do seasons for the reset and goals to complete the journey :)

posted a message on Difficulty Overview 2.4.2: HTML View

    Nice chart Bagstone!

I much prefer the new one (2), especially on cellphone.

I messed around a bit with your css for another example with static left column and vertical scroll. Resizing the browser window won't be enough. Gotta check on a mobile device.

    Example: http://dev.wojtk.com/df-test/df-test.html

I like your work and I'm not trying to bash anything. I'm simply showing something to broaden once perspective. Do with it however you please :)

posted a message on blizzard doesnt love diablo anymore.

Maybe you should just look for another game. People get tired of games, eventually. Nothing wrong with that. Playing the game despite it being boring seems unhealthy^^

I remember in the good ol' days when single player games were the way to go. They didn't get updates or new content, you bought them, played and abandoned them. We were still happy.

As said, it would surprise me if they didn't announce anything at GamesCom or BlizzCon.

Did you not get what i meant? your example is something completely different. Its about how crucial it is to fix the points the OP mentioned to keep the game alive. Then they can show how their game design works. Or if they have the capabilities they could do both but not show game design things as an excuse for "we do nothing now".

I understand your point, it just seem that OP is very hostile and uses the blizz post about goblin sounds as a bat or spring board, which is kinda unrelated.
    Quote from Glowpipe»

I guess the main problem here is that you guys are holding on to a dying game way to hard. Let it go. Wait for the next installment. Diablo 3's days of glory is long gone. Look at the quality on the last patch. Look at the quality on this patch. Minor crap and some vanity items. They are working on something new and we will most likely see that, next blizzcon.

What do you mean by "dying" game? They're constantly tweaking, adding and messing around with things. It's just getting better and better. It ain't new and shiny though and I guess a grind game such as Diablo could grow tiresome quite fast if you only play that game.

Sure people are interested in gamedesign. But its like you lost one arm and the doctor shows you some makeup tutorials instead of fixing your arm or at least stop the bleeding....

    Thats what we complain about.

More like you lose an arm and while waiting for the doctor, who's busy with other patients, reading a magazine. No point in being angry with the magazine if the doctor takes time :)

posted a message on About the Goblin Giggle

The goblin post was a good read. I always find posts like that interesting. So much more thought goes into things like this then one could imagine. I like it and since posting things like that doesn't effect game development, balancing or content its fine and great that they write things like that. Makes you understand more of the thought progress behind a game, which is great!
