I have tons of use or lose leave that must be used by the end of the year, why not use some now? Some people get more vacation than others, it's not fair, but it is life.

Also, releases at 6pm local time for me tomorrow. So I can play until I pass out and then get up and start again.

I personally think they should have kept the wings as a CE only thing. They could have given the wings to the CE and the dog to preorders. That would have fit the established pattern.

Diablo 3 CE - Angelic Wings

SC2: HotS CE - Blade Wings

D3: RoS CE - Valor Wings

But they didn't. I don't like it, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

I don't throw around the word "entitlement" often....but damn this gamer generation (who just got a trophy for showing up) really are an entitled lot who think they deserve the same or better than those who got the special item by doing what you were supposed to do to get it.

I hope they enjoy their welfare yellow wings, I will proudly be wearing my white ones.

I only took Tuesday off, but that does not remove other options from the table...such as having a 24 hour flu on Wednesday or just choosing option 2 of the poll for the rest of the week.

Are you going to work or will you be playing RoS until you pass out? (taking vacation days counts as playing Hooky)

You can deny it if you want, but your exploits will be taken down one by one because Blizzard knows it's true.

Why do you think all of these people are doing these runs that are getting nerfed? They aren't doing it for fun. Yes, I will outright call anyone a liar who says they are having fun running the same tiny bit of content over and over for hours on end.

They are doing it because they want to be a higher level and have better gear.

ie...they are competing with other players.
I play Diablo 3 to have fun. I take more fun from the actual playing process ("flow") than from the "resulting" rewards. Players like you on the other hand only give a **** about your "score/results", and hence only see 1 viable build for each class - heck, you only even actually see one build and class - the one that some people claim is the "strongest" one. So you basically constrain yourself by so-called build - or "role"- effectiveness (i.e. find the role thats the most effective) and assume that role. As it is a ROLE playing game, choosing and playing a role (again: role=build) should take precedence over effectiveness, i.e. the aim is to pick the most enjoyable role (ignoring numbers) and play it as effectively as possible.

You see this statement thrown about all the time "it's how I want to play and it doesn't affect you at all". The only problem is...yes it does. This game became a player competition the first time Blizzard added viewable player profiles. Almost everyone looks at them, and yes, you are all comparing your characters to their's. Yes, even without any form of sanctioned competition, the game is full of players vying for the top spot...who has the best gear?...who has the most paragon levels?...who is rocking a full set?.

So yes, how you play does affect everyone else. If the game didn't have the "showing off" factor, it would have been dead in a month or so.

I know stating this won't make people stop trying to use that argument, but is shows how silly it is.

I want to kill the first zombie outside Tristram and have it drop a full set.

It's just how I want to play and it doesn't hurt anyone.

It's not that they "fixed" them, it's HOW they "fixed" them.

I didn't miss your point. You think the nerfs or fixes were needed because they gave people with a special way to play the game an advantage over people who play the way in another way. As said there is no elegant way to fix that kind of problem in general because it's a problem made by the players. To fix it you have to force players into playing the game in a certain way.

As you said in your first post. You're idea would be to implement a timer or diminishing returns so that you force people into playing longer sessions (timer) or visit more areas in the game (diminishing returns). That would work and wouldn't affect your style of playing but would affect the style of a lot of other people.

In addition I already said that the nerfs affected me and my style of playing the game and that I don't think that the nerfs were needed. I understand what you mean but I don't think that it's that big of a deal that Blizzard has to implement something. As soon as you have access to adventure mode it will be the most efficient way to get both, XP and legendaries.
OK so you got the point and still chose to just cry about your exploits being fixed, got it.

Yup, you both completely missed the point of this thread. I'll reiterate it for you.

I'm not interested in arguing whether you think these are exploits or not.
The point is Blizzard thinks they are, and took care of them.

I don't know about other "legit" players, but I'm seriously getting tired of being punished for what exploiters are doing. (no I'm not interested in arguing over whether farming of these is/was exploits.). I do agree that all of these needed a fix, but I'm tired of them taking the lazy way out.

    1. People are farming urns...nerf urns.
    2. People are farming resplendent chests...nerf resplendent chests.
    3. People are farming Nigel Cuthroat...nerf Nigel.
    4. People are farming scorpions...nerf scorpions.
    5. People are farming aspects...nerf aspects.
    6. People are farming Mira...nerf mira.
    7. People are farming CotA...nerf CotA (and any other place with "easy" mobs.
Like I said, I agree they needed to fix these, but they need to do something more elegant that doesn't punish regular people. Off the top of my head a timer or a diminishing returns system, or a combination of the two.

There are always going to be epeen waivers looking for the path of least resistance, stop punishing me because of them.

300 character levels (leveled 5 characters to 60)

10-15ish P levels...whatever was left on each character to reach Diablo after hitting 60.
