Jul 17, 2008akse posted a message on Blizzard: Why Corpses VanishI generally upgrade my computer once every 3 years or so. Thanks to blizzard I don't have to upgrade it every year they make such good games that I keep playing many years of them. If I'd only buy FPS shooter games that I play trough in some months and then soon I buy another one I'd have to upgrade computer a lot more frequently.Posted in: News
So you could think like this. If you upgrade your computer when d3 comes with $500 and play d3 for 10 years its quite cheap. -

Yep indeed. You might look at the more at the low levels, but when you get the skills of actions at least I kinda forget the whole thing. Even with a necro i just keep CE tapped and move the cursor to explode. I don't search for the corpses.Quote from "FingolfinGR" »the Siegebreaker burnt to ashes and summoned skeletons on his death. I dont think thats a bad way to vanish
But think of it realistically. How many actually stayed to look at the corpses for more than 3-4 seconds in the previous games? I havent and I've been playing Diablo II for 5 years. Theres nothing interesting with the corpses (if there isnt any skill for it, that wont). Thats a waste of cpu power that i wouldnt like to have.
haha yea I laughed when I read an article where the crytek blamed piratism for that Crysis didn't sell good. Lol why would it sell if 10% of computers can run it perfectly.Being in the computer game sales business, i know the reason Crysis (and Assassin's Creed) didnt sell that well was because of their impossible system requirements.
Assassins creed is nice tho and it runs pretty good on my computer better than crysis anyways. -

And for those that don't have that you will buy one? Besides, I think physics calculations are more involved with cpu than gfx card, AFAIK nvidia is developing something that gpu could also take some load of the physics calculations.Quote from "remus" »sorry but since almost everybody have 8800 series cards or better that can play Crysis at decent fps...this statement is like for console kids.... -
Jul 16, 2008akse posted a message on Blizzard: Why Corpses VanishWell after u leap again with your barb it looks kinda cool when the existing corpses still move around but hm ye I guess even 1 minute wouldn't be bad time after the corpses would stay still and physics wouldn't affect anymore. When the barb fights the ghouls at start it takes like 1 minute for him to beat them at least. So after that you move to next area and it doesn't matter how the corpses are moving there anymore.Posted in: News
Altho we don't know much about the game in the later levels, will there be massive fights etc. -
Jul 16, 2008akse posted a message on Blizzard: Why Corpses VanishYeah and having all the 7 old ones and adding 2 new ones wouldn't really bring much new to the game if there was 1 old one and 8 new ones it would be quite a lot of work for the devs and I rather see 5 good classes than 9 semi good. I guess they have 1 old one and 4 new ones?Posted in: News
In d2 I always had 1 pala 1 ama 1 necro then a lot of barbs and couple of sorcs (if we only count 1 mode hc or sc) So having 9 classes in my perspective would lead to situation where I would probably only play 5 of them. Maybe test a few more later.
But anyways this is going off topic. Lets stick to the corpses! -

It may have some influences graphically, but knowing blizzard, gameplay will be awesome.Quote from "ryanmax24" »exactly and pretty much everyone these days as a pretty decent or high end computer to run this stuff with ease, i recently upgraded my computer to handle the games ive got and the ones to come, if blizzard make the game abit darker and get rid of the vanishing corpses id be really happy and would spend my cash on the game, but as it is right now i wouldnt bother, for one reason only it looks to much like titan quest.
O nd 5 chars isnt enough make it 7 like LOD :P.
But its good that they are actually reading peoples concerns and complaints about certain things in the game thus far.
Where do you need 7 classes? THe 2 extras in LOD was damn useless and sucky classes anyways. Just have 5 really unique ones that are all fun to play.
About the corpses, I don't really care about their physics after they are dead. Maybe after 5-10 corpses the physics calculations could stop running on them and after you move away from the area the corpses could dissappear.
Anyways I'm not too bothered about them disappearing. -

Thats why there should be limit in party size not the game size. If you play with 4 friends all the time.. doesn't it feel like playing in LAN if you never see anyone else in the games than the party you are with? So 8-16 game limit depending on the size of the areas etc. But 4-6 party limit.Quote from "Snowee" »I really doubt they'll support more then 4-5 people in one game. They said they really want to emphasize on the cooperative play, so having too many people might just unbalance the game imo. -
Jul 15, 2008akse posted a message on Diablo 3 Not An MMOGood clarification, now only if people would read these things and not go mad and create threads without any facts.Posted in: News
About the player cap. I really hope they keep at least 8 / game but more wouldn't harm(12-16) if there are a lot end game areas and they are big enough. I'm with them about the party size I think 4 should be enough, I don't wanna see those mega slaughter runs anymore that end in 2 minutes, besides like he said things get very messy with 8 players spamming spells all around. So at least 8 players in games but party cap at 4 players. -

As I said many old faces/friends have came back and for me big part of multiplayer games is the community and friends. I would never touch this game if there wasn't any friends to play or even chat with.Quote from name="Drake Tristan" »If Diablo II is such a bad game, why do you have a level 81 Barbarian? Do you enjoy playing bad games? Your logic seems to be raping itself.
Congratulations, you can insult me like the immature, little troll you are. Brilliant! Do you have any other tricks?
For u it seems like biggest part is the artistic style or then u are just trolling by urself.
Yeah I insult since you seem to be picking fight against anyone who likes the way game is going now. No matter what the topic of the thread is.. i've seen it before. so stfu. -

besides..i dont play games..just very few..and d2:lod is one of them ( mod )
I know its hard to choose - good old stuff, or new..Why new if old was good..why old if making new game.. Why new, it will replace old, and definately it will be felt - something is missing.. and so on.. and so forth..
Just let them change textures a bit and it will be good for few more years..who know how long we will live
It would be even harder to choose to move forward from old if they hadn't patched Orginal D2 aswell to the state where it now is. Now there is no other options but to move forward to the next one since now the game is somewhat shitty. Only bright thing about is the community that kinda shines atm since many old faces came back.
Lol what a BS GTFO idiot.Blizzard North are the only company that could ever create Diablo III, seeing as Diablo is their series; unfortunately for us gamers, that's not the way the video game business works. -

Only issue was that this guy thinks the game is already bad when it's not even in the stores yet and no one has played it. I tought Hellgate London could be pretty nice game.. but hey I played it and found out it was piece of crap. So imo it is just a waste of bandwidth to post things like that when you haven't even played it yet.Quote from "liquid" »Looks like you're the idiot here, go see a shrink or find some other way to deal with your issues than trolling in forums. -

I wouldn't trust so much to Blizz North. Yes they made a great games Diablo and Diablo2 but the expansion turned out to be nothing more than a resolution upgrade to the good old diablo with some features that made the gameplay a lot worse.Quote from "Djinn_690" »I think that blizzard north would have done a superb job on Diablo III if they where they ones that completed the project.
I would also like to point out that, considering they didn't have a fraction of the funding they had available to them when they where working with blizzard, does not make them less creative or bad game developers. I believe that if with the right funding Hell Gate London would have been a big success, sadly though they where limited to what they could do, and they probably made a miracle happen with whatever funds they had.
If they still had the funding and backing of Blizzard I'm more than sure that we would all be playing their masterpiece(Diablo III) by now and loving every second of it.
At they very least I'm sure they would never have even thought "I wonder what would happen if we make a Fast Paced Action RPG version of WoW" - which sadly seems to be what was going on in the heads of the current developers when they where working on it.
Well I guess when the orginal D2 was maybe more designed to single play at beginning after they saw the popularity of the multiplay they made a lot of changes to the game to allow better multiplaying(no screen freeze from sorc spells etc) too bad they didn't manage too well with it. It was only 1 year of orginal D2, if they had spend 1 more year to create the expansion I'm sure it would have been a lot better.
So yeah after that screw up I'm happy it's not Blizzard North that is doing the game. And it really looks great so far. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

In Classic Softcore.

And anyways I'm playing Classic which did only get huge nerfs in 1.10 so 1.13 could only get better in Classic.
So we got respecs, I wouldn't really need them but I guess they are Ok in some cases. Basically your first ladder characters can also be great now. You can make a Barbarian as first character and don't have to worry what weapon mastery you take. You can switch it based on what weapons you find.
They did some skill balancing, but not enough imo. Why did they balance just a few skills? Melee classes will still be a lot weaker than casters or they will at least require very powerful gear to be on par with casters. Anyways even small balancing is good, but they should have put more effort on it.
I would have liked to see some immunity changes on monsters.. They should have been more rare to see. Iron maiden gone is a good and bad thing. They messed it up in 1.10 so why didn't they just change it back to how it was in 1.09, when it was reflecting a lot less which meant that you were able to Whilrwind and such in there without being instagibbed from first hit after IM is cast on you. You only had to be careful not to make long whirls to big crowds.
Anyways I kinda hoped to get more %ED to weapon masteries for barb or +%dmg to whirlwind or synergize whirlwind with something.
Also I think it's stupid that you require so much AR these days(1.10+) to get proper hit %.
Also Amazon should get synergies to Multishot and strafe from GA for example. Bow skills are weak just like every other physical. Wearing loads of CB and OW isn't the real way of making a physical damage character imo. You shouldn't have to rely on 1-3 stats in that way that if you don't have those you will be close to useless in Hell.
If they REALLY fixed the duping of items, it's great. Botting will still be an issue.
Some people have been whining about hacks like TPPK. Yeah they should fix hacks but thats not all, since you can Town Portal kill even without the hack.
They should have made every skill/spell disappear if you cast town portal or something. Didn't they do this for Frozen Orb, Blessed Hammer and Hydras already? So why not just do the same for all?

At point of 100+ you start to get teleport issues. You have issues with other spells / skills too but teleport is where you see it immidiately.
I have 200-400ms delay to the test realm.

Anyways blizzard still haven't gone to the root of the leeching problem. There were no leechers before LOD because all the exp were fully shared with party and if you grouped with a character higher than 10 levels than you, your part of exp would be so tiny that there would be no point leeching. Well a lot of things were better back then, but that what they should do if they'd want to remove leeching.
You didn't even read my post? What does iron maiden do to casters that are majority in this game.. nothing. And yes I have only 600-700 hp on my sorc in Classic. I know it is easy in LoD with all the uber items you get there.. the game is a joke in LoD, in classic thers still some challenges every now and then.
I didn't say that melee couldn't do it.. I only said that why is there 2 crucial areas in game where melee can't go all in while casters have nothing to fear there. As I said 1.09 challenge in CS was great but 1.10 is pretty much a suicide.
Why would you even care about iron maiden if u get rushed to 90 lvl in 2 hours? You don't play the content, other people do it for you.
In Classic HC all you see barbs doing is being either BO bots or BO bot/corpse popper. Now that they remove IM maybe they could do something else there too.
Anyways this seasons barb have gone to CS only about 5 times once soloed the whole thing with ww and 2hander mace.. it took 20 mins to lure the monsters out of mages etc. Then I've done it 4 or something times with a pala friend, I did a tanking job with lvl 1 war cry, wasn't very exciting.. and oh infector with conv does hurt, howl was handy though. Rest of the exp came from soloing river of flame, but I think it's fun that I could go to CS some times in 1.13 with a barb when River has sucky monsters that doesn't give exp at high levels.

Anyways, I like the new windowed modes. Fullscreen (4:3) window that doesnt lose focus if you missclick outside the window, almost got killed many times in HC because of that
Lol first you say that dupe wasn't a big problem and that dupe fix doesn't do much good to the game. Then you say that there is a huge abundance in runes, you didn't figure why was it so? Maybe cause of duping? Oh yea!
Raising rune drop rate doesn't make the worth less because if they fixed duping they will be many times more rare than now. Duping makes runes worth less not increasing drop rates by 3x. As someone said "In 1.13 finding zod will only take you 200 years instead of 800", in 1.12 you can get zod quite easy sinsce they are duped so much.
The wisps huge damage is based on a bug in the game that they probably fixed now and it's ok to fix bugs. Same thing with the fire ench bug.
Howabout playing the game like it should be.. no rush, no leech instead of whining about blizzard removing a huge exploit in the game?
Eh? No threat. This doesn't make CS any easier for non melee. There are a lot of stuff in CS that can kill anyone (conv infector etc at least in classic). Iron Maiden was only pain in the ass for melee characters. And made it really hard for melee classes to compete in high levels because they couldn't really clear the place at all, or many times slower than casters.
Iron maiden was still ok pre-LOD and pre 1.10, I don't understand why they changed the reflection amount. After 1.10 1 hit can kill you which isn't really fun if your character is built to only hit with normal melee damage. Back pre 1.09 you could do whirls in CS when you were a bit careful and didn't go all out on big crowds. Short whirls and leap attack mages first was fun and exciting. Even if you got IM you probably lost about ? hp which was fine. Now you die pretty much instantly.

Guess you guys should do it since it seems to be so easy.

How long it took to make 1.10? We got some new content, synergies, runewords etc in that patch and the team building it was most likely a lot bigger at that time.
0
I doubt it's that easy to make all the changes you suggested, new difficulty, 150-200 lvl, items etc.. Thats like making a new expansion.

So only blizzard knows how long they actually used time for the D2 patch, because since june or something when they announced the major bug in Warcraft 3 they worked on that and it took a long time.
Iron Maiden was a great thing, but blizzard fucked up it in 1.10, they made it reflect 10x more damage than before, which made it really stupid to do anything in there with a melee character.
pre 1.10 you could do whirlwinds in Chaos Sanctuary if you were a bit careful. You did die if you stupidly did long whirlwinds through huge crows of monsters and got iron maiden during it. After 1.10 you can almost die in 1 normal attack if you happen to party with pala for example

Well people should think it like this:
How many game companies do even this much to their 10 year old games?
