Jun 17, 2008grotesquity posted a message on Rumor: Diablo II Patch and Ladder ResetPosted in: NewsQuote from "Andulien" »I guess this is again another wait and see situation... how I don't like those...
As much as I hate them; I'm starting to get used to waiting with regards to anything Blizzard. -
Jun 17, 2008grotesquity posted a message on Rumor: Diablo II Patch and Ladder ResetPosted in: NewsQuote from "Angellium" »lets just wait and pray for a surprise patch....
Hmm, I don't recall, do they ever release a patch as a surprise during a ladder reset? Someone speculated that the 6 hours instead of 4 was indication of a patch. Maybe the other 2 hours are needed to ban accounts? Who knows... -
Jun 17, 2008grotesquity posted a message on XFire Slips WWI Game Announcement?Posted in: NewsQuote from "Teh^Slurpinator" »yea, well the Diablo 2 reset was late today.....about 6 1/2 hours late acutally. So maybe that has something to do with D3? idk just a thought :D.
6 1/2 Hours? I logged in when it was scheduled to be reset and it displayed "Server Down" about 8 mins afterwards. -
Jun 17, 2008grotesquity posted a message on XFire Slips WWI Game Announcement?Posted in: NewsQuote from "Andulien" »gem activate button??? I'm lost oO
The clickable gem placed in the middle of the screen in the D2 Lobby. -
Jun 17, 2008grotesquity posted a message on XFire Slips WWI Game Announcement?Posted in: NewsQuote from "LarryNC" »rofl that gem is so awesome - i really hope they patch today, it seems like they are
I think a patch will provide more evidence that D3 is on its way soon. And no patch would state the contrary. -
Jun 16, 2008grotesquity posted a message on XFire Slips WWI Game Announcement?Posted in: NewsQuote from "DarthKarnage" »Alright I really don't want to be "that guy" on this thread who brings up the blizzard employment opportunities page again... but has anyone else noticed how on the image of all the characters from various diablo franchises, Diablo is not only in the center but he is the only character with out some sort of hazy filter to his image? The red on the orcs shoulder armor is about the same color but yet it doesnt seem nearly as bright and vibrant... Idunno just throwing that one out there :offtopic::spam:

Here is a blown up copy:
As you may notice, Diablo is brighter and has the absence of the horizontal scan lines. Either this is a direct hint or just a last-minute addition to the header. If it is a hint I think it is just confirming that Diablo is in development. No heads up to when it will be announced. Then again I don't know how old this graphic is. -
Jun 16, 2008grotesquity posted a message on XFire Slips WWI Game Announcement?Posted in: NewsQuote from "jlane" »I personally just don't get it. Blizzard must be twisted and sick, to want us to suffer all this time haha. I don't see why they don't just be straight up about their games. Yes, we are making it. No, we are not. Sure, they say that but we can't believe them, seeing what they did with Starcraft II. I just don't understand why they lie, how come they don't tell us when they first begin making it? Espicially when they know there are sites such as this dedicated to it. What is the point of the "Top Secret" projects?
Blizzard - Your breaking my balls.
Well, given Blizzard's desire for perfection and history of canceling games I don't think it would be best for them to announce a game as soon as it begins development. I think the fans would be a little upset to see a game be announced then get canceled because Blizzard isn't happy with it.
Anyways, is it just me or has this Rumor Mill just stopped churnin'? -
Jun 16, 2008grotesquity posted a message on XFire Slips WWI Game Announcement?Posted in: NewsQuote from "Andulien" »World of Diablo lol that is a funny one. Thought I really would not like it if that was really going to happen.... I like having my game that I can play offline if I chose to without having to pay for it again and again may it be hourly or monthly. I'm sry, but I really enjoyed playing the full story, and not having to go online, especially when it first came out, I still had a slow inet connection now with cable no problem xD
One of my favorite things to do with D2 is LAN with a friend. With just the two of us beating the game all the way thru hell. It was a great experience to not be exposed to the online economy.
Good times! -
Jun 16, 2008grotesquity posted a message on XFire Slips WWI Game Announcement?Posted in: NewsQuote from "jlane" »Although I do not think I played very much when I played Wow... I would hate that idea of hourly paying. I remmeber some days (Days where I was ill or something) I would love to have almost a full day of just chilling playing WoW with some buddies. I like the care free aspect, once you have paid your subscription fee, your good. If I had to worry about managing out hours, that'd suck.
I would think 0.50c/Hour would be doable. Heck, 8 hours for 4 bucks?!
Nevermind me, my brain is just a little gasy today. -
Jun 16, 2008grotesquity posted a message on XFire Slips WWI Game Announcement?Posted in: NewsQuote from name="The Huntsman" »I sincerely hope it's not an MMO. While some months I may get my money's worth from a paid subscription, there are times when I only play once or twice a week for a few minutes ( especialy during hunting season ) The Diablo games can be played like that. A Countess run here, a Baal run there, so on and so forth. MMOs seem to be tailored more for gamers with a lot of free time, no offense.
Agreed. I once forgot to cancel my WoW subscription on time (1 day late) and paid for an additional month without playing at all. Actually, even when I did subscribe I barely played. It just isnt worth it for me. Now if they incorporate a pay per hour rate then I think thats a little manageable. Let the people playing the hell out of it and getting the most use from the patches/fixes pay the premium!! Then again, some would be out thousands per month... -

I think the next few days will be very telling. The closer to WWI without more info then the less I believe that D3 (or any game for that matter) will be announced. -

CSS is now more popular than 1.6
and to reiterate that, tf2 is completely different than tfc and is held as 1000000000x greater
2. 'diablofans' already has a terrible name, you haven't been here long enough to know that so I will let you find out on your own
now to vancrackin
guess when WoD comes out? NOT TOMMOROW LOL
from time of announcement to 'estimate time of release' (probably 2011) THEN you must add in blizzard time (add 1-2 years) WoW will be thoroughly destroyed by all the companies jumping on the MMO wagon
Oh and if Darkfall releases ever, well...
also where the fuck have you non-mmo kids been? blizzard is hiring people for a NEXT GEN MMO TO WORK WITH THE TEAM BEHIND DIABLO 1 AND 2
EYE'll lern uz too reed
Actually it seems to me that every job opening posted on http://www.blizzard.com/us/jobopp/ that doesn't have "Next-Gen MMO" in the title contains information on Diablo and the ones that do have "Next-Gen MMO" in the title say nothing about Diablo.
Correct me if I'm wrong with links plz. -

I fail to understand what is special about this. Blizzard has been posting job postings relating to Diablo I and Diablo II for quite a while now (2006).
Help me understand.

What makes tomorrow special?

1. Blizzard hasn't redirected it to their own page.
2. We haven't heard any word on the matter from Mockery.

I can remember seeing that animation there before. I thought the actual term "ruststorm" referred to the deletion of duped items during a D2 patch.
EDIT: Or it could be... SC2 = Medusa, D3 = Ruststorm? eh? eh? ... nm

I think the people here are either used to the game not being announced or have restrained themselves from believing that the game will be announced. Either would allow them to avoid or cope with dissapointment.

Also, I wonder why diablo3.net hasn't been snatched by Blizzard?

Well with online digital downloads you are just purchasing the license (key). Usually you can download the game as many times as you like given that key.
0
Actually, if you have your cd key you can go to the Blizzard store and register the key and then use the digital download to install the game again. You could just write down your cd-keys and trash your discs.
Anyways, where is our diablo3.com news?! The more time that has passed without an official post on the diablo3.com transfer of ownership from I-Mockery the more I worry that it was just a technical problem...

Although I don't really see it as a replacement for purchasing a game, I think it is a nice compliment for when you purchase the game in a store. I wouldn't want this to be the only method of buying a game. At least not for now.
