This is an undeniable proof for D3 X-II (if not a troll) which might hit the shelves soon, and D4 -even if announced- will take at least-3 years to complete anyway. So getting an announcement for both is still a possibility.

There is a slight chance of getting a D4 and D3 X-II announcement at the same time..

I want to believe that the Shadow Set is reserved for a future patch to have its golden age.

focus on finding a cindercoat. You don't neccessarily need a good one since you will be cubing it. Upgrade yellow chests or spend shards with a monk alt to exclude cloaks from loot table while dealing with Kadala.

@Nibbs:
-The most critical improvement would come from capping CDR to 37% for perma-vengeance. You seem to have zero CDR from gear. And don't forget, apart from skill's resource returns and base damage increase, the UE 6pc bonus buffs it further more. Cap CDR and keep an eye on cooldowns.
-Cindercoat in cube and trail of cinders rune will improve the resource management and keeping disc at higher values is also a drastic increase in dps indirectly. You are probably spamming too much generator to fill up frequently, which is another cause for dps loss.
-Get a chest with max disc affix asap. Max disc on every possible slot is a bigger priority than cdr cap. You must have 75+ max disc and should be stingy while using disc skills.
-You could show some love to your follower. Let him/her have cdr and AS on each and every possible slot.
I must say ,this soon into the new season, your gear is outstanding. I'm sure your performance will go several tiers as you augment each slot. Boots will be better off with 15%MS increase. Pants will be better off with AR instead of armor.
Good Luck

that 4th affix below the dexterity ( I can guess it's life per hit) is the roll candidate. You can cap CDR to 37% or boost toughness with Vitality if needed.

Would you mind linking a snapshot of both or at least write all of the stat numbers on both?

Still not good enough with SM6 after recent PTR updates/changes. Hatred becomes a serious issue and spamming traps screw the fine balance of resource gain from Karlei's Point, and toughness gain from Aquila Cuirass, and dark heart rune.. Even in T13, trap explosions won't help at least clearing trash..
Maybe someone with time, patience, proper gear and skills might find a way to utilize traps within one of those trendy "wait for it.. hooold.. hoooold.. NOW!!" type builds

First impression with Shadow set + new quiver on PTR: Even with all the improvements, still too much effort to utilize traps yet too unnoticable gain.. Inferior to melting trash with AD and splash damage. I have to say it's utterly BS..

It starts to matter on really higher tiers where it would take more time to kill things. It would be noticable above 75-80 especially if you are participating +800p groups.
Ambush buffs your damage until 75% hp left on target. DML takes over below 50-60%.
So in principle you want to have the shortest time gap which is uncovered with neither.
It would be bad (not terrible) if your DML was on lowest number but I wouldn't seriously bother a few digit difference..

CHC and AS are universal stats, in other words they affect each and every damage output, and having higher numbers on those are essential.
2 is fine, reforge 3 to obtain an ancient one

In a real RPG's difficulty settings you have an option to apply real D&D rules, where all damage may affect everything, and you have to take extra precautions not to hurt yourself or friends or npcs especially while using AoE attacks/spells.
Now wouldn't it be cool to have such an option in D3? Sadly all is about memorizing the patterns, optimizing stuff accordingly and rest depends on your brain's reaction latency against what bs game RNG throws at you..

Nothing much to gain from area damage in an UE setup. I would roll AD into AS rightaway

Don't forget the x% dodge per stack as well. I borrowed the idea from my SM6 setup and it works. I made a recent change. While keeping LP bracers, I traded Frostburn with Aquila Curiass and it improved toughness imbalance a lot. Over all, AD and hungering arrow's splash damage is really effective against trash. Build requires a little fishing to show its real performance though.

Damage is satisfying although it feels a bit vunerable. Possible trade-off with minimum damage loss is LP to WoC bracers.
I believe, with the proper optimizations, this setup might push above 75 which is good enough for me..

Ballista's mitigation is mostly useful for close encounter and melee damage as in LON or N6 builds. UE4pc distance requirement will reduce the benefit to ranged damage only. Other offhand options - maybe the good old Calamity could make much more sense. Or the sticky trap xbow could be added for some AoE but I wouldn't keep my hopes high for it :D.
Regarding Lacuni Prowlers, I swapped it with Wraps of Clarity, because the build in its current state is bloated with toughness features, so it's a simple trade off to buff the damage. LON is extremely tough but needs all sorts of damage boost to compete with UE

Here's the d3planner link of the LON setup I ran on PTR;
