@ Ranim: Dunno, if you're talking about this OP, nothing was edited out by me and I was the last person to edit it. There's a section at the top about PvP, although I think there may be something in one fo the other updates, as well.
It went like this... Mockery asked the rep if he could join a game and attack somebody.. and the rep said something to the effect of Yes, but it isn't activated in the game. Then he said he looked for the function and found it but it didn't do anything.
There was more but that's the basic body of it. -

They have waypoints too. If you played Titan Quest you know what im talking about.... that basically eliminates the need for the portals....Quote from "GWeizman" »That's pretty much that whole point in deleting them - it gives you an easy way of escaping any situation, which kinda kills strategy. You go in a very difficult dungeon, saying "oh well, I'll go in there anyways and just TP myself out if it's too hard." -

I tried looking for the mention of the PVP... mockery had spoken to a Blizzard Rep and apparently revealed the PVP function being similar to the previous game... suffice it to say I can't find it... infact it seems to have been edited out.Quote from "Valtonis" »was there any mention of how PvP is gonna be implemented?
having a specific server for PvP?
having an option to turn it on or off when ever you want it (when you challenge or get challenged)?
or specific areas in the game (arenas)?
I most definitely remember reading it yesterday. -

May 11, 2009Ranim posted a message on Bashiok on "Skill Trees" in Diablo 3.My only fear is that fundamentals of the game don't turn out flawed like in Warcraft 3 where Chaos Damage pretty much ruled out everything else and the Blademaster and the Demon Hunter were the only heroes people would predominantly pick in matchesPosted in: News
What if it turns out that while it's true that mixing skills and runes has it's advantages, but it turns out that such things as an all Arcane Wizard is the most powerful build?
Now, it may just be paranoia and 3/4ths ignorance but those things are concerns when considering how popular PVP will probably be. -

Hasbro owns HG:L nowQuote from "Paladin88" »Would be funny if it were something about "Hellgate: London". (I don't really think it will be though lol)
Who still has the licencing rights to that? Is it a person, a board of directors from some company... ? -
Mar 28, 2009Ranim posted a message on NEW Unannounced Blizzard GameMost likely it's Blizzards attempts to expand. This is a great time for them to do that, they're not gonna suffer much from the recession since WoW is such a large source of income and their numbers are not falling one iota as far as I know.Posted in: News
I put all my money on a new IP -

No... when he's using skills it moves to his back.

You can clearly see it on both of them when they use skills. ( I take the part about the wizard back, I just rewatched and she doesn't do it. )

Why even bother having the weapon if all you do is put it on your back?
Edit: The Wizard does it too even with 1 handeds, it would appear.

I personally loved preparing for the fights and being overly utilitarian to the point that I practically had a countermeasure for everything.
The only suckage about this class is the learning curve. I had not played WoW in a few years before going back... I attempted to play my hunter and was mothballed, it was so confusing to re-learn everything. I would have spent a few hours just figuring out the basics.
So I rerolled Death Knight, and I have to say that they're pretty fun, I think how they did it was totally off. They should have made Death Knights an achievement rather than a level requirement. Just like the Jedi in Galaxies before they buttfucked that game into its present form. Which would mean that they would be very strong compared to other classes, but few in number... and more... but that's not what you should expect, it's blizzard after all, they want everything accessable.

Two things
A government with anonymous personel would maybe fix that... if you only knew their agenda but never saw their faces.
Economics should be mandatory but it never will because sports is more important than life skills.
Sad world huh? Stand back and observe it as it improves! /sarcasm

Well if we can effectively reduce waste by 99% or more we ought to see hope for a better future before we all pass on. That's why I like digital entertainment though. Most of our consumerism is derived from not just the adverts but our desire for culture... We associate culture with physical objects like childhood toys and cars. So if we can eliminate that... we will not only cut down waste, but increase time-tables. Imagine that prospect though, the Internet would practically become the main storyteller of human culture.
If we keep things the way they are we'll have to begin mining the rest of the Sol System in a century.
That's kind of a crazy thought now that I look back at it but what ever... that's what i've got to say =)

Take a look at the behavior of the US since WW1 and even long before this. We've done it all in the name of preserving our "wants" of life. If we never took on a single ounce of Iron again from another nation or from mines simply because it did not exist in those mines anymore and then we found that a few nations in africa were mining and refining iron into steel and so forth, how do you think we would react? Vietnam had naturally growing rubber when both the Communists and the United States were in a severe rubber shortage (notice that most vehicles in vietnam were tracked.) We all know how that turned out don't we?
My point is that we have to have initatives to manage all the resources. We can argue about it now and for a thousand days from today but regardless the fact is that eventually we'll strip this planet clean of attainable metals and other materials. When that day comes... you'll pay for it with blood. All of us will.
Sut Jhally is the only person I recall who talks about the resource issue. He's more focused on Advertising but he does talk at length about the impact of advertising on resources and the general direction. He's the guy that I got my 70 years till depletion figure from... the rest is from him and other sources. I know there are others who concentrate on the resources factor exclusively though. I just don't know their names.
