I will be going for either an Ancient Axe or a Thunder Maul. Just the insane oversizedness of the weapons is great.

If they actually made the Poleaxes look bigger, I would like them.

sure I would be ok with paying to play. If they sell the game at release for like $25.

I don't think we need crafting, I think being able to reimbue items for gold would work much better and stay away from some crafting ideas.

Single player should stay. Many people don't like to play online or can't play online. The game has its basis and origination as a single player game. No need to change that.

They aren't changing any lore. They are actually giving you more depth to the lore. Just like the demon soldier things in birthright. They can be demons in hell, that came from corrupted humans.

So what if this is the backstory on the goatmen in D1 and D2. There is nothing in this that says they are changing anything. It doesn't contradict in any way with the rest of the lore so they aren't changing anything, mearly filling it out.

The diablo 2 lore even says they are half goat half man.

posted a message on Diablo Archive!
I have read the archive and am currently on the first book of sin war trilogy. I don't think the order you read them in is that big of a deal.

I would reccommend just reading it and then reading sin war or moon. They aren't exactly tied together, though I would suggest reading kingdom of shadow prior to Moon. As it involves a character in both books.

Oh and I would say so far, Demonsbane and kingdom of shadow are my two favorites. I wish Demonsbane wasn't an ebook as it was a really cool read and would love for it to have been longer.

Black road was good, but with how it jumped around.... it wasn't the best.

Legacy of Blood is good, but unlike most on here I do not think it is the best non sin war book.

I had always thought Meph was the boss of the 3. He is clearly in charge in D2 cinematic and is often referred to as the eldest of the 3. He is also considered the supreme of the 3 in what I have so far read in the 1st sin war book.

Weight restrictions/carry limits on characters are not fun. They work in a heavy RPG, but in a game that is largely a decendent of Gauntlet(and hey, that is a compliment), they don't much fit. There is a limit to how much we can carry, but it isn't limited by size restrictions.

If I am going to go running around in full plate with a great helm, greaves, gauntlets, and a gianormous 2 handed axe, all the while jumping, spinning and running nearly continously...I don't think the weight of the loot I am carrying needs to be too concerned with.

I think the move from the tetris system is great, why?

Because the only thing the tetris system really caused me to have to do was open a TP, go back to town, and dump the stuff I wanted to keep in the stash and sell the rest.

Now that was fine if all I was picking up was runes and gems, but if I picked up a couple of suits of armor it was back to town, and don't even get me started on if I was carrying around some grand charms or some such....

posted a message on Just finished Legacy of Blood
Well I went out the other night and bought the Diablo Archive. Just finished Legacy of Blood. Great great great read.

A few things that stood out to me:

I really hope that Drognan plays a larger role in D3, he is fairly cool in the book, much more interesting then in the game.

Really has some interesting and even disturbing parts to the book.

Things that I am having issues with though:

    1) Diablo was defeated in D1 long before the book began. In fact prior to the book, the wanderer had left Tristam, others had come and ransacked the monastery of all its valuables, and the witch had warned that the wanderer was possessed, which they ignored, and proceeded to travel clear across the world on a treasure hunt for bartuc's armor.

Given the amount of time that would of had to have passed, explain this to me:

    A. Atma's husband was dead-killed by Radamant-So Diablo had already arrived.
    B. If the sorcerer from D1 was ahead of the Wanderer, he should have already been within the sanctuary.
    C. How was Diablo even in the same area? He should have already been in Kurast given the amount of time that had passed. He was ahead of the trio at the begining leaving Tristam?

Just a few honest questions about a truly great story

yeah, but it totally makes a def oriented build impractical.

another way to address this would be to make it were you can reroll embues on an item until you get something worth using.

I think it would be neat if they really demonstrate the change to the world. Like early on you visit this church and it is nice and holy looking and then later you come back and it has been ransacked by demons and the monks and such killed and such. I think the effect of destroyed tristam should be repeated, but should actually happen in game to people you had already met in the game as opposed to a previous game.

I think it will be like D2--unless they put random encounters into the journey, but I don't think they are gonna do that.

posted a message on Viable Weapons?
well, the issue was that the really slow weapons didn't do enough damage for how slow they were and the really fast weapons weren't a big enough difference to make up for the low damage.

Another thing I hope we have is an advantage to really loading up on Def. I hate hate hate the fact that you could get a really high def and some monster would ignore it......or that after a while it made no difference.
