I still like WW barbs. WW needs synergies bad right now. It annoys me that with synergies my 1 point of bash does more damage then my WW.

Plus, to be really good WW barbs pretty much have to use RW weapons. I loved my eth Executioner's Justice, but dang it just didn't kill fast enough on higher acts of Hell.

If I can find a good glorious axe, I might try BOTD it.

Fury Barbs are a lot of fun too. Especially mace or hammer ones if you can get the right weapons.

Mine wasn't a per point basis, but a just total respec for that many levels.

I think it is sensible. End game builds after level 50 would probably require less modification anyone from lower level builds. Also, I can appreciate the concern some would have in PvP wether I engage in it or not.

I don't think instituting a max level reduction with respecs would be that good of an idea.

However, something like taking away 10 levels per respec off the current character might work. But only at high levels.

I would say level 50 and below-no penalty
    50-60-3 leves
    60-75 5 levels
    75-85 10 levels
    85 -90 -15 levels
    90 and above -20 levels

Under 50 still allows you to correct errors. It also allows you to fix errors at later levels, but you would have to really want to fix it. Respecing to try a new build or new pvp would really hurt and require you to seriously relevel the hardest part of the leveling based off of D2.

The other thing I wish to point out--Respecing is entirely optional-if you don't want to do it then don't, but giving someone else the option should in no way ruin your gaming experience.

And what would be the point of limiting it to non mulitplayer/ladder-Once ladder has been up a month there are so many lvl 99s that no one even looks anymore anyways. Seriously, I can't imagine the last time I looked at ladder standings.

I can see the reason for not allowing hard core players to respec. It just doesn't fit with the idea of hard core.

    1. You made that up.

    2. Your sentiment is contradictory, because instead of needing to have stats for the sole purpose of being able to wear items (since they were absolutely useless beyond that and the only other purpose is to put the rest of the points into Vitality) you will receive different stats from items, which are not class-specific and which you are encouraged to experiment with in order to make a build that works for you. It has been confirmed numerous times that the only class-specific items in the game will be some very specific weapons and off-hands (like Claws and Trophies were in D2, for example).

Here is where I got that idea from-granted it was on a topic posted 6 months ago so I kind of got off on the exact meaning of the post but here you go:

    Re: Auto Stats and Vitality
Blizzard said that items will not have any stat requirements, so you can have anything on any character (which is more realistic), but it will affect that character in a certain way so that you will have to choose accordingly. This will probably be done with the sort of stats that the items add, so that for example you want an axe on a wizard, but it adds a ton of strength and no energy, so it will not be that good to a wizard. I support Blizz on this, because I am more of a fan of realism in these things, even though it's a different universe etc. I think that classes should stick to what they do best, you chose the class to begin with, so what's the point of for example changing to a sword-weilding witch doctor when you can pick a barbarian, who compliments the use of a sword?

Granted as I said I have gotten the actual reasoning behind it a little mixed up in the last 6 months, but the idea still holds true. Thanks for calling me a liar and all that by the way.

And yes, I agree with illuvatar, classes should stick with what they do best. Magic users shouldn't be running around in full plate sacred armor anymore then barbs should be running around in Robes or wielding rods and teleporting.

I read in one of the early things on here that the designers were really wanting to differentiate the equipment that characters would use and that part of the reason the attributes were the way they were was to keep something like mages running around in heavy plate armor and such.

    ???

Yes because magic types typically run around with swords and shields....

They have already said they want to avoid having mages running around in heavy armor, I would think it stands to reason they would want them to stay away from the larger weapons and shields as well.

posted a message on Φ Imperius - The true threat to Sanctuary?
Good theory, though I have to admit I don't see Imperius acting against the wills of the Angris council who voted 3-2-1 to Leave Sanctuary to its own fate.

Granted, Tyrael has had a role in Sanctuary, but a very behind the scenes role, not one that truly fits with Imperius.

Also, the harbinger from the heavens to me just means the meteor is falling from the sky not the HIGH HEAVENS.

    Quote from "Comedian" »
Ok, i've read ALL the thread... so i think:

4-tyrael is no longer part of the angiris council
8- tyrael isn't "good". he thinks that nephalem(humans) choose orden instead of chaos.

Ok, where does 4 come from? I just finished ALL the books and there is nothing about Tyrael not being on the council.

8-I disagree. Tyrael is definitely good from the nephalem's perspective. He would be perfectly happy with leaving Sanctuary the hell alone if the Hells would just leave it alone. His only concern is Sanctuary becoming a staging ground from which to attack the high heavens.

    Also,
I believe it is in general easier for demons from the hells to enter Sanctuary do to the summonings of the Vijari then it is for the angels to enter sanctuary.

Respecs make sense. They allow you to fix that one galling stupid mistake you made with a character that more or less breaks it.

Seriously, I have never played any class but barbs but have probably made more then 60 or 70 of them. A lot of them have been repeats and slight variations on themes.

You keep making more characters because that is the fun part. I seriously can't play a high level character very long which is why I have only had a few characters hit 90 and none hit 99.

posted a message on Synergies a No-Show in Diablo III?
My biggest issue with synergies was that they raped skills that didn't have synergies--IE- WW. Putting one point into bash and then receiving the synergies from its skills and getting 6 bonus skill levels does more damage then WW. Tell me how that makes any kind of sense at all whatsoever?

Course, WW has been raped sense LOD came out.

posted a message on Act 4 Corrupted Tyrael End Boss
Ok, I am finally going to post on this thing the reasons Tyrael being corrupted aren't going to work:

1st and foremost: There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that angels are even capable of being coorrupted. Don't go throwing Inarius up as an example either, he wasn't corrupted by the hells, he was just full of himself and his own perceived infallibility. Also, don't refer to izzy. There is an entire difference between a foot soldier angel who has been captured and tortured by the demons and an Arch Angel member of the Angris Council.
2nd: Tyrael is the archtypical representation of the high heavens and more or less the guardian of sanctuary. He will not die or be corrupted or anything like that until the series ends. He is too major of a character in the games and lore now to simply corrupt for the purposes of one game. Aint gonna happen, but if it does, it will be in the last diablo game which this one aint.
3rd: Tyrael corrupted is way too obvious for a blizzard stoyline.
4th: Tyrael is shown after the destruction of the world stone still fighting the forces of hell--Moon of the spider, which is written by Knaak, who blizzard already said what he writes trumps all other lore basically.
5th and last: Corrupting Tyrael doesn't make any sense storyline wise. It doesn't mesh with what has been shown on the website, would have no connection to the triune, and really doesn't do a lot to differentiate the game from D2.

Also, I don't think that Imperius is the threat either. He has pledged by the agreement of the angris council with Mephisto and would not break such an agreement. Nore would he act independently of the Angris council and go behind their backs on this.

It will be about the same as other games are. BTW, you can get D2, Diablo, LOD, and all the strategy guides for like $25 in the set.

And the next gen X-box won't be coming out for at least 4 more years. 2 years won't give it the shelf life to have been truly profitable, plus, microsoft is really cutting back on their research budget right now.

You can generally count on a good 5+ years to a console generation.

posted a message on Super, Secret, Hard-2-Find Item'(s) in Diablo 3!
I think Uniques should be the best. Seriously, and yes I have argued this before, they are items with some lore context in the game.

EX: Azurewrath--This is freaking sword used by Tyrael--The dang thing better own everything else on the game PERIOD. I am not even a sword person, but a sword made in the high heavens for killing demons should pretty much own anything made in Sanctuary....

Tyrael's might-If in fact the armor Tyrael wears should also own

    etc etc etc

Rares should be good and even comparable, but they shouldn't necessarily by default be better. I think that making them better and allowing for people to imbue items over and over again for a price would be a good way for customizing. Or even paying for specific types of imbueing.
