With the whole question of "Crap Itemisation" can someone suggest a 'bad' legendary that doesn't have, say, two maybe three 'good' legendaries of the same item type at the same rarety weighting.

In order to have "good" legendaries you have to have "bad" ones; but that doesn't mean the "bad" ones aren't good enough to clear most of the game.

Yes some legendaries are "broken good" These ultra rare "carrots" exist as something for the "plays too much" crowd to hunt for. Nobody "needs" them.

The truth of the matter is I play... played several hours a night... sometimes way later than I should until 2AM-3AM and had a blast while I was finding interesting things... that ends quickly and stops becoming fun.. it's great that you can have fun slaughtering monsters over and over again.. but that becomes so fun for me when I hit my obvious ceiling and when I go a week straight doing my same hour after hour runs and it stops becoming profitable those 5-6 hour runs turn into 3-4, and then 1-2... currently i've been playing 2-3 hours during this weekend because I have found other things to fill my time and honestly it's been good at this rate... but before this weekend I hadn't played in a week... is that a success??? I end the game not finding any of these sought after items at all? because I can't tolerate 5-6 hours of finding nothing but souls? I can't even reroll my gear because my gear hit it's ceiling from the 400 previous souls I drudged through?

you say this system is good m8?
I'm not sure what you're really trying to say. If every build you're interested in trying out requires one or two specific legendaries that haven't dropped for you after 300 hours of playing, then I guess the farming game will get boring pretty fast. I have a friend who doesn't play her DH any more because she feels like the only item left for her to upgrade is getting Calamity. Thats not really true for her; but that's how she feels; so I guess you're not alone in that. *shrug*

My main needs an Akarat's Awakening to progress "gear wise" in his main Holy build. But in the mean time I can play any number of other builds from the not-so-rare "crappy" legendaries people are moaning about dropping all the time that I have in my stash from the Akarat's Champion farm on my 2nd Crusader. So I haven't exhausted all the fun I'm having yet; despite being no closer to getting that crusader shield as I was 10k+ blood shards ago and all the rifts it took to farm them up.

Sure; there could be "more" legendaries in the game as possible drops; I just don't have a massive problem with the loot table as it is right now; and if its not a majoirty of legendaries having a niche spot (Read: Orange text affixes) then its not such a tiny proportion as people are making out.

Bearing in mind most builds are totally viable up to torment 3 with crafted legendaries alone; I'm not sure what people are so bothered about?

I have gotten one on my Monk, Barb, and Wizard so I have had fairly good luck. To answer the question about farming on one char to give to another...the stats are determined when you get it and not when it is opened...so if you farm it on a monk it is most likely to have dex due to the smart loot system but nothing is guaranteed.

As far as difficultly goes I usually split farm torment 1 or 2, my clan mates and myself can do it fast enough and it allows for better drops besides the cache, the cache itself doesn't matter what you farm it on.
Are you completely sure on this. My evidence is very different; having farmed up enough cache legendaries for alts. The class that opens it is the smart-loot option. Not saying this is so; just stating my experiences mirror yours.

The current system is too rewarding. People don't have to farm torment 6. Its an end goal in terms of progression (re: character power). But it should exist as a carrot for the NEETs and others with much more than average amounts of time to dedicate to a video game. Designing the loot system to allow people who play less than 10 hours a week to reach torment 6 within 2 months just means that people who play 50+ hours a week are done in a fortnight.

I'm not saying you shouldn't enjoy the buff at the moment; but if it were permanently this generous, there won't be any farming available by June. Why the people who can only play <10 hours a week aren't happy if they aren't in torment 4+ is (in my own opinion) THEIR problem. That is where the problem lies. People are finding loads of GOOD legendaries and label them as "crap" because they aren't Kridershot or Shard of Hate, Calamity of WoWoh.

Split farm act 1 in a group of 4 people on normal difficulty. It is the most efficient way; and there will be plenty of people farming for it too who should be happy to help.

I agree, there is an issue when you can have a character in full legs and still have 0% synergy with a build.
Hmm, I'm sure there are some combinations that result in 0% synergy with a build; but I'd lay the blame there on the "player who picks a bad build" than the loot.

Theres not a lot of point in striving to make a fire build if you're getting lots of Arcane / Disintegrate legendaries; until you're farming torment efficiently you make your build on the legendaries you've received; not complain about the legendaries you receive not fitting your build.

Still, I'm struggling to think of a character who could be in full legendary gear and not have some synergy going already. Legendaries haven't been that rare since 2.0, let alone RoS

Which okay yes thats playing the game "if you don't want to play the game to play the game and you just want upgrades go play something else" well thats the point, if you are to argue that finding gear isn't the point to diablo you obviously didn't play any of the classic diablo's this game was all about the loot. and honestly still is, if I wanted to play the game to kill monsters I'd be over it by now, thats just the truth.

The fun is in theorycrafting builds, trying them out; finding gear to compliment them; and seeing the pretty spell effects. Loot is the enabler. Sure I've spent about 30 hours over the weekend hunting for the Akarat's Awakening shield to finish of my Holy build for my crusader; but along the way I've found enough other items to try out a physical biuld; a thorns build; and even a PET crusader build with multiple avatars and Tasker and Theo...

People who play this game just for the loot are not the only people who play this game. Things got a lot more fun since the patch not because of this seasonal buff; but because the changes to rune emenetal types has opened up a whole world of new builds to try out.

The fact there are 6 helms to pick from doesn't surprise me on that one. Finding 3 of the same amulet in a row would be slightly less liekly odds.

Also interested buklt up an insanely good set fo Cold str gear from farming on my Crusader and until they give us mroe than 2 (!!) Cold based runes looks like Coldsader isn't realistic; was hoping cold barb would tear shit up. Dual wield Azurewrath, Rimeheart, use Frostburn gloves.... Could be interesting...

posted a message on Is t6 soloable without Unity?
Akarat's Champion - Prophet, and some... flexability when it comes to the nastier pools of crap, and I can survive in torment 6 during elite packs just fine. My DPS is no where near enough to solo though. Need more CDR hoping to get Akarat's Awakening, should be easy after that.

Having said that I can run 6 piece Akhans so would have space for a Unity to replace RoRG if I got 2...

EDIT Sorry I wandered into the wrong forum by mistake; doors over here is it? *whistles innocently*

It is a bad rift if I don't get a single legendary (not including forgotten souls)

My record so far is 7 in one rift. It has happened twice since the buff was added :)

I didn't realise the detail Danaos posted; all I had found is while AR can appear on some items it cannot be rolled to on them. If its because of a specific secondary stat resistance thats good to know :)

Personally I'm still farming t5; t4 in public games. Same as I was before the patch. As Crusaders got a dmg reduction buff; you could well be correct :) As I say, one can only hope :)

    Was this a good change?

Isn't there a risk that this will make the optimum strategy just running endless Normal-mode rifts?
Optimum strat = rift it forward

Remember rifts now reward more shards if completed on higher difficulties.
On Torment II - VI.. guess we'll need to see how much they bump it up, it would have to be a lot for most people to find it more efficient..
Just did a T2 Rift and got...50 shards. I know there's a range, and I might have rolled on the low end, but still...that's about the same as I could get in T1, only separated into a pile of 42 and a pile of 8. I assume it broke them up that way to clarify that the 8 were "extra" for doing T2. If this is the definition of "extra blood shards", T1 still seems optimal, or even Master, now that you can get set items from Kadala.
Unless you clear torment 2 as fast as torment 1. Myself I have the gear to clear torment 4 rifts in 10 minutes so thats what I play at (after 3-4 t3 rifts I get drowsy) looking forward to not receiving 40 blood shards at the end of it :)
