Quote fromwell....why bother have real physics, then? if realism doesn't matter, why make sanctuary resemble Earth at all? why not make it completely alien? this is silly, of course realism matters, the only problem is that different people want a different amount or realism. and yeah, continents can't fall in the ocean, that was stupid, i don't care if it's a film, it takes place in planet Earth so it should follow the laws of nature.
i completed Oblivion and i was never forced to eat, drink or sleep. eating was to restore health, like potions, drinks had various effects and sleeping was mostly to pass the time more quickly (due to the night/day cycle, sometimes you had to wait for a certain time of day to do some tasks).
I guess that's where our opinions will differ then. Where as you need a certain amount of realism to enjoy it I don't think that they should be limited as to what is plausible. I was also referring to mods when speaking about Oblivion. There are mods that force you to eat/drink/sleep, and for some reason people like that added realism of being forced to do things they need to do in real life in order to live. I'm not gonna lie... I don't get it.
I wont miss day/night cycles at all. I do want weather though.

I agree, there is no reason for them not to include an option to turn AA on. Why should they decide what my computer is capable of rendering? If my computer is powerful enough to process AA (Which really isn't a big deal with most newer cardes anyways now) why shouldn't I have the option to enable it?
I feel that mots companies that leave this option out are just being lazy and force me to turn it on manually, which I find to be just a bit of a pain. It doesn't matter in the end of course because you can always force AA through your video cards profile system. Whether its ATI or Nvidia it doesn't matter.
I don't think Blizzard is lazy enough to not include an AA option. I would also hope they would include an AF option, but for some reason not many games include that one either. I don't get it really.

The WoW talent trees were copied from the D2 Skill system, and anyone who can't see that is just crazy. It's just that the WoW team took it in a different direction because their skill system was already implemented. Not to mention there were certain skills you had to put points into the talent tree to unlock I.E. Trueshot Aura.
Most of the talents in the WoW talent tree system were ment to increase the effectiveness of skills you already had, and it seems D3 is taking that from WoW. Like I had said in my previous post it's better to increase a skills effectiveness or its utility rather than just using the synergy system because under a WoW/TQ system you are more likely to use the earlier skills.
And like I had also said TQ used a similar system where as certain skills in their sill tree increase the effectiveness of the previous skill. It worked out great as the skill system is what set TQ a part from other D2 clones at the time.
The D3 team is obviously taking that idea from the WoW talent tree and morphing it to work with the Diablo game play, but to say they have nothing in common is just an asinine statement, in my opinion.

I.E. Charged bolt by itself was a pretty useless skill for a sorc at higher levels, but what if you could invest points in another ability that allows your charge bolt a chance to stun. Now charged bolt will be useful again, if not for the damage than at least for the chance to stun.
Some people hate that D3 certainly does have a WoW influence along with past Diablo games, but there are systems that WoW built up that will work in mainstream RPG's. Also Titan Quest used this same system and it worked great.

Someone posts an item that they want to sell and people are allowed to offer anything they want for the item. One person could get multiple offers for the same item. They log on the next day and choose which offer they want.
If for some reason the person who offered an item no longer has the item or has money to pay for it than it will shoot back an error and he goes on to the next offer that was given to him.

What the hell.... What does google have to do with anything? Do you know what you are talking about?
I for one will be buying Diablo 3, as well as Starctaft 2. Blizzard has yet to disapoint me in terms of gaming... yet.

See, always bring back the class that's in the middle of the character selection screen. You would be stupid not to!!!
In all honesty I think I would have to sort of agree with what the devs had been talking about though. The barbarian is a class that could have been improved upon immensely in Diablo 2, so why not bring those changes over into a game where he can be a contender while at the same time being the awesome melee class he is suppose to be. Maybe I am just rambling, but those are my thoughts at least.

I think what he meant was that the stat system weighed far to heavily on the system as a whole rather than your characters actual customization being drawn from many different areas.
It gives a false sense of customization. Sort of like thinking that locking your car will actually deter thieves from robbing it.
I have only played a little bit of Diablo 3 so I do not know how the stat system will play out, nor do we have any idea of what other systems of customization Blizzard is actually going to be implementing in Diablo 3 as a whole. All I know is that the if the stat system is off-shifted towards gear and less through static point allocation I will be a happy camper. Diablo should be a game that relies more on gear than stat points.
And to point out what many others have said. Even though D2 offered stat point allocation everyone basically picked the same builds anyways and there was never any customization. If anyone wanted to try something off beat then they were gimped beyond belief. In the end I think manual stat allocation, at least in Diablo's case, lessened customization among classes. It just happend to work with the system that Diablo 1 and 2 had implemented, but it doesn't seem like it would have worked with D3 which is fine with me.
Oh, and to those who said people need to fail to learn. There is nothing fun about realising that the character you have been leveling for weeks has just been fucked up because you allocated his stats or skills "wrong", and now have to re-level the same character just to be on par with other players or the difficulty. It is extremely redious and actually takes away from the replabitiy because no one likes to do the same thing twice, thats boring. In WoW I remember doing the beginner human quests about 15 million times and it prevented me from making another human character simply because I felt I was going to puke if I ever had to do it again.
There is one thing to letting a person fail and start from the bottom, and letting a person fail but giving them a helping hand. One sucks, and one is better and slightly more fun. Not to mention the fact that this is not the real world and people play games to get away from the real world. This is why FPS's offer check points and allow you to save if you die, and RPG's offer you save points. No one wants to go back to the arcade days of having to sit and play an entire game of Super Mario Land in one sitting because if you die or turn the game off you have to start over. No one likes to fail... and games don't need to teach that lesson.

Yes... you figured it all out in the matter of one sentence. Conglaturations! Enjoy Diablo 2!
Now as for leech. I would have to see exactly how the game plays out since the way it is going to play is going to be different from the previous Diablo games.

Beyond being amazing I don't remember this cinematic in the game at all. More beyond that is the curious ending in this advertisement. Now it would be weird to see something like the traveler leaving behind a piece of what looks like the blood stone behind, because its so damn important maybe. It could also simply be an advertising thing.
What would happen if a piece of Diablo soulstone was left behind somewhere? What if you didn't destroy every piece after you killed him in hell.
Or maybe it was simply for advertising sakes and it means absolutely nothing

I never used LAN so I really don't care, and most games hardly include LAN at all anymore. Sorry for people who did use LAN though.

1) I can't do that right now
2) Ouch... That ****in HURT!!
Oh yes... that would be wonderful. Realism and large shoulder pads, and that's a great combination
