It was made on the peak of the discussion. And it's the official one. There's an open one as well if you want a link to that:D
Sorry, but I'm just tired of people misinforming others. There is no proof that those who want the style to stay the same are the majority, vocal or otherwise.

Seriously. Why make such a thread? Not that I've got anything against D3 rocking and stuff.

Now, there are more Gothic styled places, for example Mephisto's Durance, the Chaos Sanctuary, the Countess' Tower.

His post coupled with his signature immediately alerted me of another "don't change the art direction" or whatever thread. And since I'm so sick and tired of the crusaderlike fervor that follows these kind of threads I had to add some of my own rant.
"As for the style, it has been said by Bashiok that the dungeon is using the Tristram tileset, so basically the area that should be the most gothic looking in the game doesn't look anything close to gothic."
Eeeeeeeeeeexactly.
Still voting CLOSE on this thread, because it's been discussed already to death, and by now it's really not NEW information anyway. I predict a downward spiral for this thread.

For gore, you think the death scene where the Barbarian was bitten in half wasn't gory enough? It IS part of the actual game. The level isn't, but everything else artistically is. It's using the Tristram Cathedral tileset.
I vote CLOSE for this thread before it turns into a flamefest.

But I do wish they'd update... It's been a whole month already and no new "real" updates are to be found

Now I don't know who made this, but it looks a bit off the charts for a Barbarian (well tribal rituals might be appropriate occasions when to wear such armor but seriously on a battlefield )

Which is what I already said:confused:

If it weren't available for kids, then there'd be even more crying about it looking cartoony, and if it weren't available for kids it wouldn't look cartoony the first place!

Exactly my point
A cave can't be Gothic for christ's sake... well unless it's been worked on by artists and has been carved lots of Gothic statues and the ilk

The right word to describe D2 on the whole would be gritty. The indoor areas can be considered Gothic (architecture etc.).
In response to the OP: That would take way too much time and money.
