im pretty sure it was blizzard.com
StarCraft: Ghost was a planned tactical action game for video game consoles developed by Blizzard Entertainment and set in the same science fiction milieu as its popular StarCraft title. Blizzard announced the game in 2002, but on March 24, 2006 announced it would "indefinitely postpone" development[1] (see development hell). Soon afterward, Blizzard removed StarCraft: Ghost from its list of games currently under development, and deleted the official Ghost home page; the URL for that page now redirects to Blizzard's Web site[1] (like StarCraft2.com). As of now, its status is in question, and many fans and analysts, including gaming websites such as IGN, are predicting that it has been canceled.
Blizzard, a game developer mostly known for computer games, was taking a step in a different direction by producing Ghost exclusively for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 video game consoles. Instead, they have now chosen to reorient themselves on the seventh generation consoles. Earlier, a GameCube version was also planned, but it was already canceled in November 2005. Many in the gaming community were under the assumption that the game was being developed by Blizzard when it has in fact been a third-party project since its inception, starting with Nihilistic (Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption) and officially moved over to Swingin' Ape Studios (Metal Arms: Glitch in the System) in July 2004. On May 16, 2005, Blizzard Entertainment acquired Swingin' Ape Studios, and in March 2006 they announced that Starcraft: Ghost was on indefinite hold.
Quote from "MijnWraak" »ghost was stopped because the horrible reviews and comments they got about ghost. not because of a marketing scheme or anything
its because blizzard fans arent ready for them to release a console game, with the only new game that have had for 6 years being warcraft
they have begun to come back to the roots, and re invent the diablo universe, and starcraft universe also.

Not too important... I just don't play WOW(GW is soo much better) So I don't know where it came from...
Quote from name="Elfen Lied" »how can SC: Ghost be SCII, they arent even the same genre, they arent even on the same machine. SC II would be on PC, SC: Ghost is on console.

Quote from "MijnWraak" »lmao is that what i just said?
plus anyone know why blizzard, an american publisher, has WWI in Korea?
other than SC?
Quote from "FingolfinGR" »its well known Blizzard works on a WoW expansion aswell. There are even textures of new continents and items in the next patch thats coming (i dont expect them to add a new continent in a content patch). They also licenced Frostmourne among other things, so i'm pretty sure we'll get to know something about it within this year. Would be too early to announce it now though, especially while people are still really busy with the previous expansion. Blizzard knows marketing more than anyone, they'll definitely announce it when it suits it most. For now it looks more like Starcraft 2 to me.

You are correct..
They are doing an outstanding job with this product. Only problem they are facing, the engine is causing problems. This will be a delayed project..
By the way this thread was scooped a while ago..(http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15810) and it's amazing the insight some have into this particular release.. (http://www.diablofans.com/forums/showpost.php?p=362309&postcount=3)
Additionally this will not be a standard MMORPG as most believe.
Think of it as more of an online story game. They are currently building/refining more aspects of community interaction for the online play. But it will never be a fully true MMORPG such as WoW..

Possible, but it did not happen to just me. The entire dueling community that I been socializing with were effected. I cannot speak for the "Whole", but I can assure you all my items were 100% legit, as I did not trade items and I did not use any programs, including the ones considered less hayness (Maphack).
No, as it was at least 10 computer format/builds ago.
Possible Error on timeline, I believe it was 2002, it was before the 1.10 changes because they had just released the new information on it.
Your right, my apologies.
Never said it would get the full system. Just an update that would coincide with the newer system going in. The statement from Blizzard was for the game as it currently stands, it does not make mention to all patches to come.
I was never arguing that the new games would work on the new system. I said that the old games are not going to work on the new system. They're still going to operate the same way and aren't getting new servers.
As far as 1.13, my original post was a what I wanted to see and I still feel it is quite "possible".

I don't have a web link or direct credible source but I can tell you from experience and play time it was during one of the 1.09 sub patches that occurred after mass "Ith" items and duping system plagued the servers.
The additionally added to the wipe, new account system that deleted old accounts and the 11 day character or less deletion.
To split hairs, when you use always, it is an infinite.
Additionally in your 9 years perhaps you do not remember this particular character wipe but it was a wipe. I lost 6 accounts of legit gear and items from Hardcore US West. They were not bumped down to a "non ladder class", they were completely erased.
Since that incident I cannot give you specifics as this was roughly 2002 when it happened. and I did not start playing again until late 2007. In addition, I have been a member to this site and a contributer to this site since before the swap from diablo3 to diablofans, so I not seeing how I could even remotely be considered a "Troll".
If all you are offering is a respectful feedback then perhaps you should attempt to do that insted of wishing to discredit, because you weren't aware.
There is no source. This was an educated guess on my part. I had worked in the computer gaming industry for a little over 7 years. I do have a bit of insight when it comes to changing all new systems.
It has been Blizzards plan to launch Starcraft 2 onto a new Battle.net platform. The old system is not nearly advanced enough to support the new. I am not going to do your research for you, there are plenty of topics of this within the Blizzard starcraft 2 forums. If you wish for a link, I suggest you look there.
My educated guess would be that this would include Diablo 3 since they will roughly be launched within a close enough time frame that would support both games. It would only make sense this way, as it would cost way to much to have two different online server platforms.
There is nothing directly related from Blizzard to support my guess. The only thing that I offer as circumstantial evidence to the possiblility of, is the recent changes they have added to the new battle.net site.
It would appear to me they are currently looking for a new system to incorporate all their games and to add accountability.
Supporting circumstantial evidence:
My posts sole purpose was to correct that it has not been "always" and that my insight is that it could very well be possible.

Grats.. Ever thought of going hardcore? I am looking for another wing man for xfers and watching my back.

They do not "always" become non ladder. There have been a few times where they have wiped accounts. I would not attempt to correct someone, especially if you are going to offer up that BS statement as an infinite.
With the addition of the new server system they are implementing for upcoming Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3, there is no reason that they would not patch Diablo 2 in to test it out. (http://www.battle.net/)
This would add more accountability over all with "CD-Cracks" accountability for user accounts and the start of weeding out the hacks and exploits in preparation for the upcoming releases.
Character wiping is not as far fetched or impossible as you make it seem. They have done it before, I suspect they will do it again. Especially if it is conjunction with a new server release and account handling.

Overhaul on the Battle.net system to the new Battle.net with server protection from hacks, exploits and 3rd party macro programs.
Character wiping and new ladder progression.
Some minor re-balancing of character specs and more rune word gear.

I believe someone deleted the post by the user and just linked that thread to this one. But then again I could have been struck real hard in the head and making all this up.
This was his opening post and it appears to have been merged into this thread..

Actually I am not so sure I did. There are two different post titles for this topic. The other now points to this one.. I think some mods are messing with my mind...

Yes, I too would have liked to have seen a higher poly/less cartoonish graphics. One of the issues I know, their developers are faced with the decision of frame rates and playability. They figured they rather sacrifice the higher graphic element for better performance. In essence, they are taking the WoW approach.
Other game manufacturers are doing similar concepts..
http://www.champions-online.com/ <-- I do like their style. Lower polies and still has a great comic feel to it.
